The role
This is a pivotal role delivering high-impact fundraising events, overseeing end-to-end event operations, managing freelancers and volunteers, and ensuring seamless execution from planning to post-event analysis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the end-to-end operations and delivery of our events, which includes coordinating freelancers, contractors, and volunteers.
- Developing and managing the Foundation’s annual events calendar, ensuring that deliverables are SMART and aligned with broader priorities.
- Managing tasks and work allocation for each event, ensuring that timelines and objectives are met.
- Ensuring events are effectively promoted and communicated to the QF database and beyond while leveraging key networks to maximise each event's success.
- Supporting the Head of Events & Engagement in curating new events to enhance donor engagement and increase fundraising for the Foundation.
- Managing fundraising communications for events and ensuring that an event-specific fundraising strategy is executed, monitored and targets are achieved for each event.
The person
We are looking for someone with significant experience delivering or working within luxury events. Ideally, you will also have experience delivering fundraising events, and working with HNWI. Strong project management and communication skills will be vital, and you will be confident with CRM systems, social media platforms and MS Office packages.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of ESU’s existing fundraising strategy, focusing on the high value opportunities across philanthropy, corporates, trust and foundation. We also want to develop our legacy giving and put in place an efficient and focused programme for individual givers who are close to our work.
- Develop the people, processes, tools and technologies needed to deliver the strategy.
- Proactively support the DG and Director of Engagement and potentially the Chair and Trustees, in their stewardship of key high value prospects.
- Manage relationships with current and prospective donors, including making asks, providing a high level of stewardship.
- Refine and develop our case for support and giving opportunities.
- Research and write compelling funding applications and proposals tailored to potential donors and grant-making organisations.
- Manage and update the fundraising pipeline and budgets and own the fundraising KPIs.
- Work with Marketing and Supporter Services to develop donor materials and coordinate donor communications and engagement activities.

OVERVIEW
This role will be a key member of our ambitious team, delivering a growing portfolio of fundraising campaigns, fundraising events, and supporter engagement initiatives. You’ll oversee our supporter journeys, manage our communications channels, and build meaningful relationships that drive income and deepen our impact.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Fundraising Campaigns & Income Generation
- Work with the Head of Fundraising to plan and deliver our 12-month supporter journey – including fundraising campaigns (online and offline), events and appeals.
- Manage our calendar of challenge events (e.g. The Don’s Cycle Challenge, Wombles Walk, Sponsored Skydive).
- Grow supporter-led community fundraising in the local area.
- Lead outreach to engage new local partners – including small businesses, schools and clubs – promoting fundraising opportunities and supporting their initiatives.
Communications & Marketing
- Alongside the Head of Fundraising, lead all communications for the charity.
- Create engaging fundraising content for email, website, and social media to drive online donations, event and programme sign-ups.
- Work with the wider Foundation team and club comms team to create content for social media, e-newsletters and our website.
- Promote Foundation programmes and campaigns to fans, families, and local supporters, driving participation and donations.
- Create marketing materials (posters, flyers, etc.) to support charitable prorammes and campaigns.
- Collaborate with Senior Managers to share the impact of the Foundation through monitoring and evaluation reports. Including creating the annual organsiation Impact Report.
- Manage the Foundation’s website, ensuring content is regularly updated, fully functioning, and aligned with key campaigns, events, and programmes.
Supporter Engagement & Stewardship
- Manage the supporter engagement programme, delivering a rolling 12-month plan of personalised and meaningful touchpoints.
- Develop and implement strategies to encourage increased giving and recruit new regular donors.
- Maximise engagement and retention of individual supporters (particularly low- to mid-level donors) through excellent donor care, timely thanking, and compelling communications.
- Coordinate supporter stories and participant case studies to inspire giving.
- Manage our weekly e-communications, using engaging content to recruit new subscribers and convert them into donors, event participants, or programme attendees.
Supporter Care
- Act as the first point of contact for fundraisers and donors, delivering first-class stewardship and support.
- Ensure timely, warm and effective follow-up with all supporters, helping them feel inspired, valued and connected.
Events & Community Activation
- Support the delivery of fundraising and engagement opportunities at AFC Wimbledon fixtures and stadium events.
- Represent the Foundation at local events, cheque presentations, and community partner visits.
Administration & Data Management
- Maintain accurate supporter and income records in our CRM system, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection laws.
- Liaise with the Finance Officer to process donations, including Gift Aid claims and income reconciliation.
- Provide regular fundraising reports and insights for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience
- Hold a relevant higher education or industry recognised certification or have a minimum of at least 1–2 years' experience in a fundraising, communications, supporter engagement or similar role
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with supporters, partners, or donors

This is a pivotal role that will shape and drive the growth and diversification of our clean energy access work, including our flagship Low Energy Inclusive Appliances (LEIA) programme and the Efficiency for Access Coalition, managed in partnership with CLASP and funded by UK Aid via the Transforming Energy Access Platform and the IKEA Foundation.

Together with the Senior Programme Manager, you’ll co-lead the Strategy, Policy and Partnerships work within LEIA, with a focus on strategy development and solidifying our role as a thought leader and key influencer. Main duties and responsibilities
Leading PBE’s public events strategy and delivery
- Work with our Head of Communications and senior team to design and implement an events strategy as part of the communications and fundraising strategies.
- Event strategy and programme planning: drawing on expertise of PBE colleagues, trustees and relevant stakeholders to plan, market and deliver an engaging and innovative programme of online and in person events to budget and deadlines.

JOB PURPOSE
You will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO, trustees and international colleagues to steward and cultivate key donor relationships and continue the development and implementation of the strategy to grow the major donor pipeline. As a Senior Manager, you will take ownership of the overall Major Donor Strategy, and budget and provide strategic insight into how we grow and improve our programme.
You will be confident in navigating complex environments with multiple stakeholders and in negotiating internally as well as externally, championing the major donor programme to ensure a strong enabling environment for the growth of the programme. You will enjoy developing strong relationships, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and will be adept at managing donor and prospect pipelines as well as crafting compelling donor communications.
This role will be responsible for managing the Philanthropy Manager role and will provide support, mentorship and coaching to help the development of this role.

ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES
- Manage the philanthropy manager role through coaching, and by motivating and supporting them to reach their annual target.
- Build on a warm portfolio of donors to achieve current income targets and spot opportunities for growth and deeper development of philanthropic relationships
- Monitor and deliver annual philanthropy budgets and KPIs, assessing ongoing performance, proactively managing risks and providing accurate reporting.
- Own and drive the Major Donor strategy in collaboration with the Head of Philanthropy.
- Support on intermediary strategy and growth in this area.
- Work as part of the Philanthropy Team to grow opportunities within the major donor funding stream in line with UK4U’s fundraising strategy
- Lead on the growth and development of a robust prospect pipeline working with the corporate team, individual giving team, trustees, prospect research team, philanthropy team and other key stakeholders.
- Work with the wider international organisation to identify the most appropriate funding propositions for donors and also the internal technical experts and leadership colleagues who can help support and drive forward opportunities.
- Craft compelling propositions and proposals for major donors and ensure quality and timely reporting on donations made.
- Establish a strategic and tactical response to selected prospects and existing major donors in the event of humanitarian emergencies.
- Work independently and with the prospect researcher to gather up-to-date and accurate information on existing and prospective donors.
- Maintain accurate records on Salesforce, for income recording and earmarking.
- Work with the wider team to deliver bespoke activities including virtual and in-person events
- Support wider PPH strategic initiatives: helping identify and implement enablers to help the organisation secure and grow more multi-year partnerships, including at transformational levels.
- Help to position and raise awareness of UK4U’s role among peers, donors and other audiences by participating in sector networks and representing UK4U at events, as appropriate.
- Work within UK4U’s due diligence policy and GDPR policies and processes.
- Support the philanthropy team in other activities, as requested.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE
Essential Experience
- Experience of inputting into annual plans, multi-year budgets.
- Experience of working towards and monitoring and tracking KPI targets
- Experience of inputting to and implementing strategy
- Experience of growing prospect pipelines
- Experience of working in an income generating capacity with an NGO, INGO or university to identify, approach, secure and steward prospects and major donors giving or capable of giving over 5 to 7 figure gifts.
- Experience of developing donor care plans and delivering bespoke proposals and communications to generate income.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders (including CEO and Chair of Trustees)
- Strong experience of networking.
- Must be comfortable working at pace and on multiple opportunities.
Essential Skills/Knowledge
- Confident communicator with the ability to effectively influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders at senior levels.
- Strong understanding of the philanthropic environment within the UK
- Ability to analyse reports and communicate complex themes and subjects in an accessible and compelling manner in writing and verbally.
- Ability to act proactively to identify new and strategic fundraising opportunities.
- Good attention to detail, ability to proof-read.
- Able to demonstrate flexibility, with a willingness to respond quickly, particularly at times of humanitarian crisis.
- Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills.
- Proficient in using Word, excel, PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of fundraising databases.

- Knowledge of international development or related subjects helpful but not essential
