The Hardman Trust supports people on long prison sentences to take their next steps in life. As the Finance Manager your role is to help make this a reality through the effective management of our financial processes. You’ll use your experience from other charity finance roles, along with your accountancy / financial management qualifications, to help ensure our approach to financial management is effective, efficient, up-to-date and in line with charity accounting standards.
You will be well-organised and motivated to support the wider team in their work. Reporting to the CEO and supporting the Treasurer, you will ensure we have up-to-date information on the financial health of the organisation. You will help to ensure we are maximising the use of restricted funding, and that money is spent in line with donors’ wishes.
You will lead on ensuring we have robust organisational systems and processes in place for effective financial management. This includes the production and sharing of management accounts, ensuring payroll and invoices are paid on time, devising financial reports, and providing budgetary support. You’ll ensure that accurate records are maintained and that we are reporting our accounts in line with SORP guidelines.
You will lead on the ongoing development and maintenance of our finance systems, policies and procedures, ensuring they are fit for purpose for a growing organisation.

Job Purpose
Reporting to and supported by the Head of Impact, Learning & Organisational Development, this role is instrumental in building a solid foundation for the future of Babbasa. You will be responsible for trusts/ foundations grants research, applications, administration and impact reporting to funders. You will also work on building relationships with philanthropists and work with the Communications Lead in developing appropriate fundraising communications.
Core Responsibilities
Fundraising development

Identify and pursue new funding opportunities for our youth empowerment programmes, as well as for research and innovation opportunities to expand our existing offer.

Responsible for trust and foundation grant applications, including bid conceptualisation, proposal writing, fundraising budget creation and application review.

Support / develop relationships with philanthropists with a view to securing major gifts and legacies.

Maintain and develop authentic and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to effectively steward them.

Work with and deputise for the Head of Impact, Learning & Organisational Development to steward funders with the aim of achieving Babbasa’s annual revenue target.
Management & Reporting

Responsible for producing evaluation reports as per each funder’s reporting schedule, working with other team members to ensure that the reporting is accurate and timely.

Track, review and report progress against the Business Plan to the Head of Impact, Learning & Organisational Development and the wider team using our Monday CRM system.

You are fundraising aware – you know how to research and evaluate appropriate grant fundraising opportunities and manage the process of engagement. You have knowledge of the fundraising landscape in Bristol and of key funders for youth empowerment, social mobility and poverty reduction.
You have excellent communication skills – You have outstanding writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to create bespoke fundraising materials for funders. The Role
We are seeking a driven, talented, energetic and creative individual for the role of Director of Development. This is a one-year maternity cover post.
In this role, you will work closely with and report to the Principal and Chief Executive and will be responsible for implementing and delivering a comprehensive and coherent fundraising strategy for LAMDA.
You will lead and deliver major gift campaigns, including the biennial Gala, to ensure the sustainability and success of LAMDA as the world’s leading centre for drama training. With the ability to work collegiately and collaboratively with all staff and stakeholders, you will have demonstrable experience in implementing and delivering a successful major fundraising strategy.
To be successful, you will be confident and proactive, a verbal and written communicator and a skilled networker with a very strong track record of relationship building. In this role, you will work 35 hours per week (9.30 am – 5.30 pm), Monday to Friday, with the flexibility to work outside these hours to attend events and productions in accordance with business needs.

The Role
The foundation is a registered charity which exists to improve the quality of life of people (children, young people and adults) with severe learning disabilities whose behaviour challenges and the families who support them.
We are currently looking for a Co-production & Engagement Lead to deliver a 3-year project funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. Working closely with a small friendly staff team, and 3 regional family carers (specifically employed for this project), you will be responsible for developing 3 regional networks across England, sharing best practice locally and nationally, linking with the Challenging Behaviour – National Strategy Group, and ensuring co-production and family carer engagement is promoted and embedded as best practice.
About You
You will have up to date and relevant knowledge and/or experience of children’s and/or adult policy and practices (learning disabilities) across health, education and social care and be fully committed to working in co-production and supporting family carers to fully engage as partners in the process to achieve the best outcomes.

About the Organisation
The Challenging Behaviour Foundation was set up in 1997 by Vivien Cooper OBE, the parent of a child with severe learning disabilities who displayed a range of challenging behaviours. At the time, there was no support for families like Viv’s and no adequate provision to support her son – other than almost three hundred miles away!

Can you help St Mungo’s improve and develop how we communicate within the organisation?
As an Internal Communications Officer, you will work closely with the Head of Internal Communications and Senior Internal Communications Officer, as well as colleagues in the People team, to help develop and deliver engaging internal communications for staff supporting clients in a wide range of roles across the south and south west of England and in London.
You will play a key role in the delivery of our core internal communications which includes:
- Managing the coordination and delivery of our regular staff newsletters and playing a key role in the management and development of our staff intranet.
- Day-to-day responsibility for our core channels and our content schedule, creating engaging content and support on a range of exciting projects including the planning and delivery of staff engagement events.
- Working with colleagues from across the organisation, providing expert advice and support on internal communications and engagement for wide-ranging projects and initiatives.
- Advising on how the organisation and colleagues can demonstrate our values in their work and promote a culture of mutual respect, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
About you
You will have demonstrable experience of working in a communications role, ideally working with an internal staff audience.
In addition you will;
- Have experience of writing and producing compelling communications in different formats for a range of offline and offline channels
- Be confident building positive relationships with colleagues to enhance and improve communications.
- Have strong project and time management skills with the ability to manage a busy and varied work programme.
- Have experience of developing and implementing engaging and creative internal communications campaigns, and experience of supporting or coordinating events, is also desirable.
Being a clear and confident communicator is also essential, as is confidence in using standard internal communications channels such as an intranet (or equivalent experience with a website or content management system).

The Internal Communications and Engagement Advisor is part of a strategically focused Internal Communications and Engagement team at the heart of Marie Curie. The role aims to drive effective communication, foster engagement, and strengthen organisational culture.
Working closely with others in the team, you will play a pivotal role in implementing our Internal Communications and Engagement strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
You will provide strategic counsel to colleagues across Marie Curie, integrating communication advice into planning and decision-making and collaborating to develop clear, consistent, and tailored communications for priority campaigns, reinforcing culture and enhancing employee engagement.
Finally, you will support monitoring, evaluation and employee listening activities to continually improve internal communications and engagement and ensure employees' voices are heard.
This is an ideal career opportunity for individuals with substantial experience in the delivery of internal communications and engagement activity within large/complex organisations. We're open to various industry experiences though a passion for Marie Cure's mission and purpose is essential.
Additional Criteria for Success:
- Strong knowledge of strategic internal communications and engagement principles, strategies, best practices, tools and techniques.
- Proven record of delivering high-impact internal communications and engagement activities in a changing, complex environment.
- Experience collaborating with diverse teams and employees at all levels, including senior and executive leadership.
- Digitally literate and competent in using intranets, content management systems, social media platforms, and other digital tools for communication.
- Strong writer and editor with ability to draft in line with house style, corporate identity and branding considerations as well as for different audiences. Including proven ability to translate complex issues into engaging communications for a range of different audiences and channels.

The post will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer, provide support for Trust Board (and associated subcommittees), and will work across the entire Trust to develop and deliver the highest standards of governance and compliance. It will also support and contribute to the work of the Executive Leadership Team of the Trust, which is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the organisation
Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Ensuring good governance through policy development, coordination and support of the Board of Trustees , local governing bodies and other subcommittees, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Committee and meeting support, including servicing Trust Board and a range of other subcommittees.
- Oversight of the recruitment and induction of trustees and governors.
- Support to the CEO and other senior leaders with complaints, investigations and other formal hearings.
- Support the CEO in their role as Data Protection Officer for the trust, taking administrative responsibility for key duties as required.
The successful candidate will:
- Have worked in the not-for-profit or education sector and have an understanding of the critical role that good governance can play in making an organisation impactful and effective.
