Job description

Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good. As part of this mission, the Operations Team delivers support to teams across the organisation in the areas of Logistics, Finance, HR, IT and Office management. In 2020 we launched our new 5-year strategy, one part of which was to improve the effectiveness and efficiency in the way we operate as a charity.

The role of the ICT lead will be to develop and lead the ICT function to provide a best practice technology structure to achieve Magic Breakfast and partners’ objectives. Working to ensure an efficient and secure IT environment for the charity the role will be supporting the setting up of the structure, providing clear organizational roles and responsibilities for the future of ICT within Magic Breakfast.

There is, sadly, a child hunger crisis in the UK. Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, as many as 1.8 million school age children in the UK were at risk of hunger in the morning, a crisis which has been exacerbated by Covid-19.

A hungry child cannot concentrate. For just 34p, however, Magic Breakfast can provide a healthy breakfast to a child and expert support to their school, opening up hours of crucial lesson time in the morning.

Magic Breakfast has partnerships with over 1,000 Primary, Secondary and ASL/Special Educational Needs schools plus Pupil Referral Units across the UK, offering nutritious breakfasts to around 170,000 children each school day. Our aim is to ensure no child in the UK is too hungry to learn.

The ideal canidiate for the role of ICT lead will have extensive experience in a strategic ICT role, with well developed knowledge of  technical management, information analysis, data centre management and data governance and of computer hardware/software systems.

Salary negotiable, depending on experience
