ROLE OVERVIEW
Working closely in a small and dedicated team, this is a critical position that will ensure the recruitment, engagement and progression of women who take part in our empowerment programmes.
Location: SHED co-working space for 2 days a week or at venues in London for our core programme with women and option to work remotely 1 day a week
Salary: £22,800 for 3 days a week (£38,000 FTE) plus a 5.25% staff pension subject to employee contribution of 1.75%
Hours: Normal working hours are 9:30am-5:30pm
Holiday: 15 days per annum (FTE 25 days)
Contract: 6 months (3 months probation)
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure:
- Effective outreach for recruitment onto our programmes
- That women’s programmes run smoothly and that their participants are motivated and supported to complete them through to graduation
- That those women who require 1-1 time with you are provided with this to ensure their safety and to make any referrals to external agencies where required
- All those we work with for the benefit of women on the programmes are engaged eg. short work placement hosts, mentors and venues for activities
- That evaluation data is collected and provided to evaluators/ researchers who edit final annual reports for programmes
- All data is kept accurate, appropriate and secure
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Timetabling online and face-to-face outreach to ensure women are recruited onto programmes in a timely way
- Being the key safeguarding lead at Friday workshops and ensuring that you make 1-1 time for any women who require it (alerting the Head of Operations and People and the CEO and wider team any issues or concerns that need addressing)
- Liaising with the Programmes Coordinator on the timely production of workshop materials and any other course content useful for participants
- Maintaining excellent relationships with workshop providers
- Ensuring that the Programmes Coordinator is across needs for any 1-1 therapy referrals between women and our float of freelance therapists
- Conducting evaluation surveys with women at the start, end and 6 months after they graduate and ensuring all evaluation data is provided to the freelancer responsible for collating the impact of our programmes annually in a final report, as well as providing any data required by the CEO for grant reports
- Signing off on mentor-mentee matches with the Partnerships Manager who recruits mentors
- Working closely with the Partnerships Manager to ensure they are across which kinds of short expenses/ paid work placements with employers women want to access
PERSON SPECIFICATION
You will be someone who is naturally warm/ a people person, compassionate and enabling, and who also has fantastic project management/ organisational skills. You may come from a senior youth worker background or other front line organisations working with young vulnerable adults.
Essential:
- Substantial senior experience working with young, including vulnerable, adults
- Proven track record of project/ programme management experience to deliver successful learning/ educational events/ activities for young people
- Creative thinker with experience of conducting successful outreach for young people
- Experience of safeguarding with vulnerable individuals
- Exceptional people and relationship-building skills with those from a range of different backgrounds eg ranging from young women for our programmes to employers and other stakeholders who engage with our work and participants
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Highly organised multi-tasker, with a personality that works calmly under pressure and with own initiative
- Proof of strategic programme leadership
Desirable:
- Trained as a First Aider

A fabulous opportunity to provide psychological assessment for pupils attending Together Trust education settings and external schools, this post offers the unique opportunity to join a newly established Psychology Service by working systematically in multi-disciplinary teams, promoting the emotional well-being, learning and skill development of children and young people.
Working collaboratively with teams in school environments you will provide highly specialist psychological consultation and direct assessment, followed by formulation and intervention where appropriate.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Undertake highly specialist psychological assessments and needs analysis with internal and external services supported by the Trust.
- Use applied psychology in working closely with staff from a variety of disciplines, parents/ carers and students to develop supports and interventions that mitigate the barriers to learning experienced by students with Special Educational Needs and Disability.
- Work with the Trust Wide Clinical Psychologist, to contribute to the evaluation, monitoring and development of the service, contributing to research, auditing, and service evaluation.
- Support the development of the Trust’s Assistant Psychologists, and the development and facilitation of training placements for Education Psychologists in training.
- Provide, where necessary, highly specialist psychological reports, for key stakeholders and other practitioners within the wider professional network.
About you:
- Registered with the HCPC you will hold a doctorate in Educational Psychology.
- Be able to demonstrate significant post qualification experience supporting children and young people in education settings.
- Have significant experience of undertaking cognitive and psychological assessments, developing formulations and providing recommendations and support plans.
- Be able to deliver training to raise understanding and ability to support children and young people and raise quality of life.
- Be able to demonstrate significant experience in supporting/providing clinical supervision and ability for reflective practice.
- Have knowledge of current educational systems and of those associated with children and young people with special educational needs.
- Evidence significant experience of working with children or young people with complex needs including learning disabilities and/or autism spectrum conditions and/or with mental health needs.

The post holder will be expected to attend regular supervision and may have additional areas of responsibility for clinical service development as required.

Key responsibilities:
Clinical
1. Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
2. Conduct assessments and therapy over the telephone, telemedicine and face to face.
3. Offer High Intensity treatment in individual and group settings (as agreed)
4. Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department’s referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary.
5. Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for people attending the service.
6. Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary, conveying formulations with sensitivity in easily understood language.
7. Take responsibility for promoting access to the services provided and the delivery of cognitive behavioural therapies in the peripheral settings where the therapist works. For example, therapists working within GP Surgeries will be expected to attend GP Practice meetings and develop and maintain professional relationships with members of the primary care team. They will be expected to promote the service by ensuring that there are readily available promotional material for both members of the public and members of the primary care team.
8. Liaise with other psychological therapy services in order to work jointly to improve provision of psychological services to local residents.
9. Plan appropriate packages of care for each service user. Liaise as appropriate with other professionals within the service and externally to effectively communicate your assessment and facilitate transfer of care to an appropriate professional.
10. Conduct risk assessments, prepare risk management plans and initiate appropriate action where indicated (including referrals to relevant secondary care services and child and adult safeguarding services)
11. Elicit outcome data from people using services and their carers. Use the TALKING THERAPIES IAPTUS system to record clinical contact details, clinical records, outcome data, and passage though the care pathway.
12. Ensure that people under your care are cared for appropriately under the stepped care framework as currently in use within the service.
13. Adhere to the operations manual and other relevant protocols and procedures as directed by your line manager.
14. Take personal (unprompted) responsibility for achieving agreed clinical activity relating to the number of therapy contact hours per week.
15. Actively contribute to and support the integration of clinical governance in the service within your own area of work and contribute to service clinical governance process in a specific area of work under the direction and supervision of a Senior Therapist.
16. Develop an area of enhanced (specialist) clinical work (e.g. PTSD, OCD, Long Term Health Conditions, Perinatal, Eating Disorders, Social phobia etc). It is expected that the areas of specialist work will shift in focus over time to reflect service need and your need to continuing professional development.
17. Carry out clinical audits of aspects of the CBT service as directed, including feedback from people who have used the service, analyse and feedback to the service verbally and in writing.
Training and Supervision
18. Attend clinical supervision in group or individual format within service.
19. Participate in peer supervision with professional colleagues.
20. Develop and engage in your own CPD, including active engagement in and use of clinical supervision of your own therapy.
21. Attend and fulfil all the requirements of the TALKING THERAPIES approved training/ workshops in line with identified professional objectives.
22. Support peer learning through attending and contributing to journal clubs and other in-house service CPD events
23. Once suitable supervision training and experience has been gained, supervise other staff as directed

24. Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at all times.
25. Co-ordinate and liaise between different staff groups within Mind in Bexley.
26. Support the CBT Service Public & Professional Educational functions by contributing to professional education program under the supervision of senior members of the department.
27. Support the CBT Service Public & Professional Educational functions by delivering interactive psycho-education within a CBT framework to large groups of Service Users under the supervision of senior members of the department.
28. Exercise personal responsibility for the systematic clinical governance of your own professional practice.

Job Title: Suicide Prevention Therapist

The opportunity
We are seeking to recruit a Suicide Prevention Therapist to support men in suicidal crisis at our centre in central London. We are looking for an experienced mental health professional or therapist with demonstrable interest in suicide prevention. We will work with you and train you to develop your therapeutic skills to offer our collaborative semi-structured psychologically informed intervention. You will support the centre user and their supporter(s) to recover from the suicidal crisis and maintain their safety. You will report to a Senior Suicide Prevention Therapist.
We opened the London centre in 2022 and this appointment is the last part of our expansion phase. New therapists will join an experienced supportive team and will gradually build a caseload to meet the growth of referral partnerships and increased awareness raising in London. As a part of this phase of the expansion, therapists may be involved in outreach, partnerships and other projects before dedicating their time to a full caseload supporting four men in suicidal crisis per day.
The Charity
James’ Place exists to stop men dying by suicide. We opened our first centre in 2018 in Liverpool, the first of its kind in the UK, in 2022 we launched our second centre in London, and this year we opened our third centre in Newcastle. To date, we have supported over 1500 men and delivered over 7000 sessions of our life-saving intervention. James’ Place is a therapy centre for men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis and it was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. It offers men a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.
Building on the success of our centres in Liverpool, London and Newcastle, we are now expanding our model to reach more men in suicidal crisis. Our aim is to have five centres open across England by 2026.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our Education Team. Role Requirements
STL1 – Provide support for Learning Activities set by Classteacher & Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant

- To demonstrate our School Ethos and Pupil Charter throughout the School day.

STL 2 – Support Children’s Development

- Actively contribute towards record-keeping particularly in respect of pupil learning, therapeutic interventions, behaviour management, child protection and any other specific programme set up for individual pupils by the teacher / Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant / Therapist.
STL 3 – Help to keep Children Safe
- Undertake annual safeguarding training.
- Adhere to the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures and policies. Recording incidents pertaining to pupil safety, including for illness, accidents and incidents, accepting that Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and that ‘it could happen here’.
- Read relevant documentation / mandatory reads in relation to Keeping Children Safe In Education.
- Report any signs and indicators of possible abuse, being sensitive to the child/young person and circumstances, Identifying, report and record changes in behaviour and physical signs.
- Be aware of and follow plans, risk assessments and record keeping pertaining to individual pupils, including care plans, health care plans, feeding plans, moving and handling and behaviour management plans, actively engaging in relevant training and competencies offered to ensure that you are able to support in keeping all pupils in the class safe.
- Ensure safe transport for all pupils in the class for off site visits.

As the Charity continues to grow we need to increase the number of Suicide Bereavement Specialists who provide the Charity's post-vention offering at our Plymouth office.
Job Summary
The role of the Suicide Bereavement Specialist is to provide a proactive and timely community-based support to individuals, families, groups and/or communities who have experienced a suicide loss.
The hours for this role are flexible, with 22.5 hours/week being the minimum.
*Please note: Ability to travel is an essential part of this role.
Main duties
Support
Offer a sensitive, compassionate and needs-led service to individuals, families, groups or communities affected or bereaved by suicide.
Offer rapid response (within 48 hours), information and support to individuals, families, groups or communities who have been bereaved by suicide, in their home or other agreed settings, and follow with ongoing practical and emotional support; mainly through non-clinical interventions that promote coping and resilience so our beneficiaries can face and overcome their traumatic bereavement.
Exercise good judgement in assessing each case and establishing the most appropriate steps for ongoing support, signposting or onward referral.
Co-ordinate where necessary, a safeguarding response in line with local practices and services to ensure that an individual is safe and has an organised package of care to ensure they survive their crisis in the most helpful manner for them.
Produce an area-specific suicide bereavement resources pack to include all relevant information on support services and processes following a suicide death.
Develop strong relationships with key agencies and first responders in the area to establish ways to connect bereaved individuals in a timely and helpful manner (e.g. police, emergency services, clergy, child services, coroners, funeral directors).
Contribute to critical incident responses where appropriate and take an active role where possible.
Assist with the early identification of potential suicide connected deaths and liaise with the Pete’s Dragons suicide surveillance team and appropriate stakeholders and relevant agencies, to ensure timely and appropriate coordinated responses.
Undertake collaborative multidisciplinary work to uphold safety and support for the communities of need (e.g. working with school staff, mental health staff, peers, or family members) to ensure they are contained by well-informed communities.
Administration
Work internally with the Senior Management Team, suicide bereavement colleagues, placement counsellors and therapists and in conjunction with external agencies to ensure parity of service across the whole of the County of Devon.
Maintain timely administrative updates on the Pete’s Dragons’ case management system.
Maintain an effective and efficient diary of appointments.
Participate in the implementation and promotion of the Devon Suicide Prevention Implementation Plan and understand how the role of both the Suicide Bereavement Specialist and Pete’s Dragons fits within it.
Contribute to training/awareness raising in suicide bereavement.
Gather and report on all qualitative and quantitative data required in relation to monthly activities and casework.
Adhere to all Pete’s Dragons’ policies and procedures and ensure security and confidentiality of all related data.

Job Description
Lead on service delivery, management and governance
– To provide strong leadership for the service based on a clear vision for the service, clarity of standards and outcomes to be achieved.
– With the Head of CYP support the strategic development, planning and delivery of specialist EWMH services for children and young people ensuring an effective co-ordinated offer for these families is in place.
– To have the primary responsibility for establishing, maintaining and developing consistent and high standards of professional and managerial competence amongst all staff involved in the delivery of EWMH services.
– To provide line management to the Service Managers and named roles above and work with them to ensure they provide an effective service to children, young people and families in Surrey.
– Maintain up to date detailed knowledge of legislation and national policy and to ensure SLT, CYP management team and the service are briefed on changes.
– To have lead responsibility for ensuring EWMH services operates in a way which safeguards children and adults and is fully compliant with safeguarding policy and procedure
– Understand and manage risk and safeguarding issues across the team, being the named lead and providing advice on guidance on all risk and safeguarding issues and escalating cases to DSLs as appropriate.
– To ensure that the health and safety of all families, children, young people, staff and volunteers is properly addressed and enforced through appropriate policies and procedures including risk assessments for all areas and activities
Manage stakeholder engagement and financial integrity
– Lead on ensuring compliance with regulatory and professional requirements
– To ensure that key relationships and business processes are in place to improve outcomes for children, young people and families.
– Work with the Development Manager to support the Managers and Coordinators to write funding bids and reports for new and existing work.
– To ensure EWMH services meets both national, local performance and quality indicators in an effective and timely way.
– Ensure all key policies for EWMH team and processes are up to date and fit for purpose
– To work with CEO (Director of SWP) Head of CYP and Head of Finance to agree an annual budget for EWMH services and to play a role in negotiating annual funding settlement through the SWP contract.
– Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure services deliver value for money, within budgets and are evidence based, ensuring that services are rigorously evaluated in terms of quality and outcomes and that they continuously improve and are provided in response to children’s needs.
– Maintain up-to-date and detailed knowledge about and relationships with commissioners of services including but not limited to Surrey CC, Surrey Heartlands ICB and various Borough Councils
– Ensure accurate monitoring and reporting of EWMH service delivery output, outcomes and targets.
– Represent YMCAES EWMH services on a variety of external forums including Surrey Wellbeing Partnership and Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Training and Development
– Ensure the effective Safer Recruitment and retention of EWMH working with HR colleagues and Head of CYP as appropriate.
– Contribute to an in-house training programme for EWMH staff, CYP staff and volunteers, which is also offered to all YMCA East Surrey staff and volunteers and key partners.

Your role will be to provide effective and efficient administrative support to ensure the smooth running of Gaddum’s NHS Talking Therapies service including processing referrals, scheduling appointments and dealing with client enquiries.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all administration tasks are completed with a high level of accuracy and in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
You will demonstrate a high level of professionalism and empathy towards clients and have an understanding of common mental health difficulties. A keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritise are key to the success of this role.
This role is subject to a Basic DBS Check.
