Job description

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Trust Fundraiser to join our Philanthropic Partnerships Team, which sits within the Major Partnerships Unit at Plan International UK.

Plan International UK is a global children’s charity working to give every child the same chance in life and promoting equality for girls. The Philanthropic Partnerships Team is specifically responsible for all trust, foundation and major donor relationships and income, managing grants between £10k - £1 million plus. We’re a dynamic and growing team – our income in the last financial year was over £5m and there is a strategy in place to grow this further in the coming years.

In this role, you will primarily be responsible for the management and coordination of Plan International UK’s relationship with the People’s Postcode Lottery (PPL). The multi-million- pound funding provided by this donor supports a number of Plan International UK’s strategic programmes, alongside investment in our core activities to extend our reach and impact. You’ll manage the relationship with the donor and lead the coordination of different internal stakeholders - including the CEO’s office, programmes, governance, finance and communications to deliver extensive compliance, media and reporting requirements.

Alongside account managing our partnership with PPL, you will also be responsible for sustaining and increasing income from a portfolio of corporate and private foundations/trusts, working closely with the other Senior Trust Fundraiser, the Corporate Partnerships Team and Prospect Researcher. You will play a key role in the smooth running of the Philanthropic Partnerships Team and provide input into the strategic and budget development of the trust programme.

We are looking for someone with solid experience of managing large trusts or statutory partners within an international development context, who can demonstrate success in working innovatively and creatively to maximise prospecting opportunities.  You will be an excellent networker and engaging communicator and negotiator, who is keen to keep abreast of developments within Plan and the development sector.

If this opportunity excites you and you would relish the chance to make a truly worthwhile contribution to our work with children and their communities, we would love to hear from you.

The deadline for applications is 9:00am on Monday 9th December 2019.

Interviews will take place on Monday 16th December 2019

Due to the nature of our work with children, we follow rigorous child safeguarding policies and procedures in our recruitment process. As a result, some of our roles are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from joining us as an employee or volunteer; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences.
