The Team
The Health team oversee a dynamic and rapidly evolving portfolio focused around five core areas of expertise; adolescent, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), global health security, health systems strengthening, global health strategy and tropical diseases. We evaluate youth-led design for SRHR solutions under Adolescents 360; are a learning partner under FCDO’s WISH programme, help Gavi develop a theory-based strategic framework for its investments, and an evaluator of anti-microbial resistance with the Fleming Fund.
The Role
We are recruiting for an HSS consultant to join the team to work on projects across the whole portfolio.They will contribute to project delivery, develop and own stakeholder relationships, contribute to business development activities and build our reputational capital and market presence.This role will focus on supporting the learning and evaluation agenda of a consortium of SRHR and humanitarian partners under the FCDO UK Aid Connect project. We are the the learning partner, examining innovative solutions to challenges such as continuity of SRHR care in fragile settings and resilience to shocks including those caused by climate change and global pandemics..
The core technical strengths of all our consultants are focused around four key areas:
- Evidence Advocate:generating robust evidence and using this to support clients and shape global debates;
- Change Agent:supporting clients in reflecting, learning and managing change;
- Project Manager: contributing to and building high performing project teams that deliver quality and commercial targets;

The Candidate
You will ideally have a relevant post-graduate degree a proven track record within the international development or research sector in a related Health area.As an evidence advocate you will have led the design and implementation of complex M&E projects and workstreams, actively seeking new data tools and techniques to apply in a structured and systematic way to produce evidence based findings. As a change agent you will have a proven track record in conveying ideas and thinking in a clear, focused style, flexing your your technique to suit the environment. As a project manager you will have demonstrated your ability to actively manage clients whilst building trust, ensuring a quality focus throughout supported by clear commercial project management skills. As a trusted advisor you will have led proposals, leveraging your own network to research and define issues and generate solutions.
The salary for this role is up to £42K depending on your skills and experience.
We also offer a comprehensive learning and development programme, 24 days holiday plus additional time off over Christmas and a matched company pension up to 5%.
The role is based in our offices in Brighton & Hove (East Sussex) but will largely work remotely for the foreseeable future. However, you will already have the right to live and work in the UK and be able to travel to the office when needed

About the role
Reporting to the Head of Legacy Administration, the Legacy Administration Manager will manage and operate the administration of all legacies received by Sightsavers in the UK and Ireland, liaising with Executors, Solicitors, Trust Corporations, together with Legacy Managers/ Officers at other charities. Key duties include:
- managing and developing our small, dedicated legacy team
- maximising potential funds for Sightsavers, whilst protecting the reputation of the charity
- optimising the collection of legacy income in line with current legal frameworks
- complying with internal and external audit and compliance requirements in relation to legacy administration
- providing a legal and advisory service through the Head of Function
- maintaining all case documentation and records
- responsibility for and managing of the Legacy Officer
About you
We are looking for an individual with outstanding customer service and strong technical and influencing skills as well as bags of tact and diplomacy and a team ethos. You will have:
- previous experience in Charity Legacy Management or equivalent areas of specialism in the legal sector, ideally with managerial responsibility, with the Institute of Legacy Management Certificate CICLA (Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration), STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) qualification or equivalent.
- demonstrable experience of working in a senior position in the legacy department of a charity or Probate department of a firm of Solicitors, Bank or Trust Corporation.
- Good finance and accounting knowledge, particularly estate accounts, investment management and share valuations.
- Strong knowledge of relevant Charity Law legislation.
- Strong knowledge of relevant Probate and Trust Law and procedures. Working knowledge of Data Protection Act.

Description
To inspire and lead the Finance Team to ensure timely, accurate and insightful financial information and reports.
Production of monthly and quarterly management accounts, financial and solvency forecasts.
Development and operation of an appropriate system of financial controls subject to oversight from the Director of Finance.
Assisting the Director of Finance and broader Executive team as needed.
Carrying out other roles within the Finance Team as needed by illness, holiday, maternity/paternity or overall resource needs, subject to maintaining an appropriate controls environment.
Oversight of bank reconciliations, debtor and creditor reports, journal entries, ensuring payroll entries are processed in the general ledger, liaising with the payroll bureau, maintaining relationships with the VAT advisory agency.
Maintenance of the general ledger, overseeing the chart of accounts.
Subject to oversight from the Director of Finance, ensuring that the Finance team can:
- Produce appropriate management reports (management accounts, statutory accounts, budgets, re forecasts, cash flows and ad hoc reports, etc.).

Profile

The Role
We are recruiting for a senior consultant to join our 15-strong Human Development practice, and focus on supporting the learning and evaluation agenda of our SRHR projects, in particular as a learning lead embedded within Marie Stopes International three days a week. This role will be pivotal to Itad’s position as learning partner under the FCDO UK Aid Connect SRHR programme tasked with two innovative pilots: 1) to increase resilience in climate change affected communities through integrated SRHR, conservation, and livelihoods programming; and 2) to improve the continuum of care surrounding comprehensive SRH services in fragile and conflict affected settings. This role will entail translating the findings from a realist evaluation into adaptive management of the interventions through the consortium, so sits in a very exciting ‘evidence to action’ space between a cutting edge evaluation approach and novel SRH service implementation. It is anticipated that remainder of the role (two days per week) will be designed to support our process evaluation of Adolescents 360, a design centred livelihoods SRHR programme, and/or our role as learning partner to WISH, the flagship SRHR FCDO project.
The Candidate
You will ideally have a relevant post-graduate degree a proven track record within the international development or research sector, preferably in SRHR, learning and adaptive management, or another related health area.
