We're looking for a Head of Fundraising with a focus on Trusts and Foundations to help take our income generation to the next level. The person in this role will lead and grow our income from major trusts and foundations, overseeing our existing portfolio while actively developing new, strategic opportunities.
This is a key leadership role in a small but ambitious fundraising team, with a focus on securing large-scale, multi-year grants. You'll write compelling bids and proposals, steward relationships with funders and senior stakeholders, and work closely with colleagues across the organisation to shape exciting, fundable projects.
You’ll line manage our Trusts and Reporting Officer and help create a clear, sustainable pathway for future growth – with a particular emphasis on building our capacity to operate at a medium-sized charity level.
You’ll report to the Director of Fundraising and play a vital part in a team that fuels the mission and vision of XLP.
As Policy Manager you will lead Scope’s policy work on tackling the extra costs of disability and reducing the Disability Employment Gap. Working closely with colleagues across the Policy, Research and Influencing team and the wider organisation, you will play a key role in delivering bold policy solutions that help create an equal future for disabled people, in line with Scope’s long-term strategy. Our operations team is led by the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and includes the finance and bookings & venue teams. This is a newly created role that will report directly to the COO and work closely with the wider operations team.
Scope of role
The role supports the delivery of our IT, facilities, health and safety across operations. They act as the first point of contact with outsourced providers and co-ordinate any work related to these areas.
The role is in place to support the project management and delivery of a set of work programs and there is a level of autonomy to make decisions on a project / work area basis within an agreed framework to deliver.
The role will hold the IT budget, and support COO with facilities budget; thus it is expected that there is a good understanding of the budgets to understand constraints and opportunities. The role can make spending decisions up to £2,000.
This role is designed to allocate approximately 60% of the focus on core IT functions and 40% on facilities and operational oversight including procurement.
They will be expecting to advise COO and wider SMT on IT and Operations related plans for the year.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Information Technology & Systems
- Be responsible with the support of the COO and wider SMT with all IT related strategy including procurement and streamline of new IT service provider/s. Including setting up KPIs’ and using these to assess performance.
- Manage the setup of new staff – including the procurement of equipment required for the role – this includes all communication tools.
- Managing the relationship and being the key point of contact with the technology suppliers and technology support providers.
- Identifying cost savings/efficiencies in the tech stack.
- Supporting IT KIT refresh plans and purchase, this includes audit of needs and vendor negotiations and lifecycle planning with the COO.
- Leading on regular assessment of IT and systems needs for all services and administrative staff.
Facilities, Health and Safety & General Administration - Act as the main point of contact with our property management company. Work with the COO to escalate issues.
- Book in contractors and maintain all required documentation in conjunction with other key stake holders (property manager/agent).
- Be the escalation point for maintenance issues, liaising with the property management company to make sure that issues are dealt with in a satisfactory manner.
- Work with H&S consultants and property managers to ensure all relevant training is planned for and carried out and Risk assessments are being completed and used.
- Work with HR to ensure that all relevant training is planned for and carried out.
- Maintain records for all mandatory tests in conjunction with our property agents.
- Liaise with the Events and Venue Manager to ensure building management is always in place, keyholding, security etc.
- Ensure smooth operations of front of house – including reception and security rotas and arranging additional cover as needed for events.
Projects
- Manage ad hoc projects on behalf of the operations team; such as refurbishments, implementation of printer management.
General
- Building good working relationships across the organisation
- Representing Toynbee Hall to external audiences
- Developing an open and ‘critical friend’ dialogue within our programmatic work
- Undertaking any other appropriate responsibilities that may arise such as top up of franking machines, and general administrative orders as needed.
- Hold regular catch ups with team members, and ensure they are meeting their yearly appraisals.

The post will be responsible for proactively researching new trust and statutory funding opportunities and working with the Trusts and Statutory Manager to support and lead on applications to new and existing funding partners (£20,000+). The ideal candidate will be a Trusts and Foundations fundraiser with demonstrable experience of developing and nurturing relationships with funders and partners, understanding complex issues and working with others to identify solutions, and producing compelling funding proposals in support of this work. You will have a background in identifying and securing at least five-figure income from prospective Trusts and Foundations and statutory income sources, as well of producing high-quality and completing proposals, reports and presentations. We are looking for a permanent and full-time member of staff to help develop and manage RSTMH’s profile within tropical medicine and global health. We need a passionate and creative communicator who can play a key role in meeting our communications objectives. This role is office-based in central London, with the option to work from home on Mondays.
RSTMH is a membership society formed in 1907, with around 1,800 members and Fellows in over 100 countries. We work to improve tropical medicine and global health by enabling and promoting research, sharing knowledge and convening networks through our members and Fellows and beyond. The Communications Manager will have the opportunity to develop and enhance RSTMH’s reputation as a credible and trusted voice in tropical medicine and global health.
This is a wide-ranging and exciting role. You will lead on implementing the organisation’s communications strategy, working with the leadership team to ensure it meets the aims of the wider RSTMH strategy. You’ll maintain and further develop the website and social media platforms, build links with media contacts, and source, commission and develop content. You’ll manage relationships with key suppliers, including website developers, strategic partners, digital media and creative agencies. The Partnerships Manager will also help develop our support for Warm Welcome Spaces, including overseeing our Champions Programme which offers more intense support and a Community of Practice to a smaller cohort of local groups.

This will involve identifying and engaging partners in geographical ‘cold spots’ for the network (utilising our mapping tool developed with UCL), as well as forming partnerships to unlock new or under-represented types of Warm Welcome Spaces (e.g. Housing Association Community Spaces, cinemas, community spaces created by new housing developments etc).
● Leading the development of our Local Co-ordinators Cluster which brings together Local Authorities and others who are leading place-based networks of community spaces.
● Overseeing and developing the Champions Programme, providing more intensive support and connections to a smaller cohort of Warm Welcome Spaces.
Engagement and Inclusion
● Developing our Inclusion Strategy to identify and engage the best potential partners to diversify our Coalition and support local Spaces to become more accessible and inclusive.
● Working with the team to develop regular engagement activities for Warm Welcome Partners.

About the team

The Executive Assistant (EA) to the Chief Executive at Impetus plays a vital role in providing high-level administrative and project management support to the Chief Executive and ensuring the smooth operating of the Senior Management Team (SMT). The EA acts as a key liaison between the Chief Executive and internal/external stakeholders, managing sensitive information and handling a wide range of administrative and executive support tasks.

Key responsibilities
Executive Support:
- Provide sophisticated calendar management for the Chief Executive.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on all matters pertaining to the Chief Executive, including those of a highly confidential or critical nature.

Personal Data
Your personal data will be shared for the purposes of the recruitment exercise. This includes our HR team, interviewers (who may include other partners in the project and independent advisors), relevant team managers and our IT service provider if access to the data is necessary for performance of their roles. We do not share your data with other third parties, unless your application for employment is successful and we make you an offer of employment. We will then share your data with former employers to obtain references for you. We do not transfer your data outside the European Economic Area.
