You will be leading the way on delivering the trusts and foundations strategy - which has been growing from strength to strength - with significant focus on the development of long-term, meaningful partnerships. Key stakeholders:

Trustees, administrators, and grant officers from the full range of trusts, foundations and statutory funders (including family/private trusts, corporate foundations, National Lottery, NHS, local government), supporters, major donors, friends, and families of people with spinal cord injury, Back Up staff, volunteers, and trustees.

For this role, the applicant must have experience of working as an Executive Assistant / Personal Assistant or Senior Administrator within a busy office, educational or charity setting.  A car driver is essential.

You will need excellent communication skills, attention to detail, be able to demonstrate proficient IT skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as being organised, effective and efficient.

This is an exciting and varied role, and the successful candidate will support the Founder and Trust within an expanding and diverse charitable organisation.

The Ruskin Mill Trust Group operates five colleges and associated residential provisions, as well as independent specialist schools. Through our research led method of Practical Skills Therapeutic Education we provide innovative and experiential education for children and young people with special learning needs, developed out of the inspiration of Rudolf Steiner, William Morris and John Ruskin.

The Stewardship and Events team, with the Senior Stewardship and Events Manager leading, plays an important role in transforming our high value fundraising through the development of transformative funding propositions, high profile fundraising and stewardship events and the creation of the highest quality stewardship tools.

This role will be a crucial part of the High Value Partnerships leadership team and represents a fantastic opportunity to support the growth and development of our major donor, trust and statutory and corporate partnerships portfolios.

About You

You will have experience of building compelling cases for support, bids and partnership concepts specifically for major donors, companies and grant funders. You will have a flair for translating complex information into simple concise and compelling communications in a range of formats. You will also have excellent attention to detail, with experience of interpreting financial and impact data.

You will have experience in developing a special events programme to support engagement and high value fundraising; understanding the importance of events within high value stewardship plans.

Your excellent relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills combined with your experience of working with a range of internal teams and external stakeholders will ensure that the needs of our high value funding audiences are met and understood.

You will be a highly experienced people manager and leader, possessing strong relationship and project management skills. You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work across a number of conflicting deadlines and priorities. You will ideally be able to demonstrate fundraising experience and previous experience of working with high net worth individuals and committees is advantageous.

Flexible, proactive and enthusiastic, you will have excellent communication and influencing skills, and be comfortable adapting confidently to a wide variety of social settings. 

About the Role

As Senior Stewardship and Events Manager, you will be leading on the creation of ambitious funding propositions which will be attractive to high value donors and funders, working with key stakeholders from across the organisation to fully understand our existing services and transformational projects; translating complex information into compelling cases for support to be used by our High Value Partnerships team in funding applications, pitches and proposals. You will work closely with Recovery Services, Data and Insights and Finance teams to ensure all relevant information is gathered and reporting and evaluation processes are in place.

Working with your team and the wider High Value Partnerships team you will develop a special events programme to support engagement and fundraising, as well as leading on the development of developing engaging and relevant donor and prospect communications. You will work alongside the High Value Events Officer and other High Value Partnerships Senior Managers to conceptualise, plan and deliver a range of event types, offering a variety of activities to engage and inspire high value supporters, and ensure they are connected to, and inspired by, the work of Help for Heroes.

You will support our relationship management teams across High Value Partnerships to embed and further develop the high value stewardship strategy to ensure those who support Help for Heroes at the highest levels enjoy an exceptional supporter experience.

About the Youth Endowment Fund

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children becoming involved in violence. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) has a critical role in ensuring we succeed in this work. You have a key leadership role in overseeing the overall health of the Fund in partnership with the Executive Director. The role oversees our finances, people management and – for the right candidate –much of our grant-making and project management. 

Key responsibilities 

You’ll lead on key organisational governance processes and ensure the Fund makes wise decisions, by:  

• Being a leading member of our Directors’ team, overseeing all elements of the Fund’s work.

• Ensuring that the Fund operates as efficiently and effectively as possible by prioritising the right activities and matching resources to deliver on our mission.

• Ensuring we have the right long, medium and short-term financial plans in place and that we maintain close control over our financial decisions and spend. 

• Informing our Board and our Risk and Audit Committee on our financial performance and risk.

• Ensuring the Fund’s investments are well managed through supporting the Endowment Investment Committee (this does not require investment experience). 

• Managing our Grants and Evaluation Committee (this decides which evaluations we should fund) and ensuring it operates effectively. 

• Ensuring that any ambiguities in the organisation are identified and removed. 

You make sure that the Fund has the people, tools and resources in place to excel. This will require us to:  

• Hire, develop and inspire the very best people: Managing our Head of People, you will ensure that we hire the best possible staff, compensate them appropriately, provide necessary and effective training, maintain a strong focus on staff well-being, manage and develop staff effectively and address poor performance when required. 

• Provide staff with the tools they need to perform: Managing our Head of Grant Operations, you will ensure that we have the tools we need to deliver, including management information, databases, systems and processes and office facilities. 

• Track performance: Track performance against our goals efficiently and effectively, championing a system of accountability and action to review, identify and empower the right people to act on delivering according to the plan. 

Working with colleagues, you’ll ensure we award grants, manage grantees and oversee evaluations efficiently and effectively. This will require us to: 

• Make excellent decisions about our grants: Working with – and potentially managing1 - the Assistant Director for Programmes, Impact and Partnerships, you will help to ensure that our processes for assessing funding applications achieve our organisational priorities for evidence generation. This requires you to understand what partners are trying to do, whether it’s likely to work, whether it will help us build an accessible and trusted body of knowledge, and whether we can build on it to make long-term change happen. 

• Evaluate our programmes: Working with - and potentially managing - the Assistant Director of Evaluation, you will help to ensure that we select and partner with high-quality evaluators to understand how well different activities work.

• Ensuring the team maintains effective monitoring processes: Working with your team, you will develop the necessary skills, processes and decision-making processes to identify when things aren’t going to plan and respond accordingly.

• Build strong relationships with your external partners: You and your team will build strong, trusting relationships with the projects the YEF funds and the evaluators that we work with. Your team will be known for being attentive yet assertive and measured and efficient in the reporting information we expect. You will become well connected in the sectors that we are working in.

• Identify opportunities to scale up projects: You will be proactive in identifying projects that would benefit from capacity development support or that may be ready to scale up their work, collaborating with Impetus to deliver on this. 

In support of these goals you will also

Person specification 

• You are excellent at leading on finance in an organisation: You find it easy and straightforward to develop and oversee, large organisational budgets and ensure timely preparation of management accounts. You’re excellent at financial forecasting and understand how to make judgements and recommendations based on future scenario planning. You have experience reporting to Boards on financial performance and health, and leading on organisational external audits.

• You are strategic about finance: You’ve got real skill in distilling complex financial information into simple, easy to understand reports and presentations that enable good decision-making. You see your knowledge of finance as a way to serve Director-level colleagues with overall decision-making. You also understand how to navigate competing priorities and how to calculate and articulate risk and reward, knowing few decisions are straightforward.

• You get teams to use data well: You understand that accurate data and excellent management information tools enable good decision-making. You understand how management information databases (like Salesforce) work and would be able to maintain and build a culture of recording data and maintaining data quality within big teams. Ideally, you have experience working directly with Salesforce.

• You get things done and are brilliant at improving things: In previous jobs, you have held significant responsibility for ensuring challenging projects are delivered on time. You like finding ways to make things operate better for everyone. You are excellent at designing and putting in place effective systems and processes.

About the role

Are you an experienced corporate fundraiser with an interest in working in the international development sector? Are you creative, strategic, highly organised, a confident and effective communicator and strong team player? 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager to work closely with the Head of Programme Funding to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. If you are seeking a dynamic and engaging fundraising role which offers you the chance to play a pivotal role within a small but ambitious organisation, then this could be the job for you.

You will be an exemplary relationship builder and have experience in developing multi-faceted corporate partnerships (ideally with experience and success in employee engagement, corporate sponsorship, and/or operational partnerships).

The role also line manages the Senior Fundraising Officer post, a position that provides administrative and fundraising support across the whole fundraising team.  Please note that we are a small team and so you’ll need to be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to help out team members and to support new business across other restricted income streams.

Skills

• Passion to support children and young people, preventing mental health issues from developing 
• Ideally one year or more experience in Trusts fundraising, although this does not need to be exclusively working on Charitable Trusts’
• A positive ‘can-do’ approach and a flexible team player who will contribute to the overall success of the team
• A proactive self-starter who can manage their own workload in a self-directed environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to communicate and influence others verbally
• Excellent writing skills and the ability to produce work to a high professional standard
• Demonstrable experience of working to and achieving deadlines, effectively planning out your time
• Ideally experience in personally securing fundraising income
• The ability to produce project budgets and the attention to detail, checking budgets for accuracy
• Experience using Microsoft Office and database system

The Head of Scotland and Northern Ireland is responsible for leading our vision to end the need for food banks in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Scotland currently leads the way in having a rights-based, progressive agenda to ending the need for food banks, but there is much to do to ensure political intentions become a reality. This role directs Trussell Trust’s policy and public affairs work in Scotland and Northern Ireland, leads our Scotland and Northern Ireland department as they support our network of food banks and works strategically with key partners to tackle the underlying reasons why people need to come to food banks.  

Based in Scotland or Northern Ireland, with travel around the UK as necessary

Role responsibilities 

• Lead the delivery of the Trussell Trust strategy for ending the need for food banks in Scotland and Northern Ireland, working to embed the Changing Communities, Changing Minds and Changing Policy programmes across the network, including through providing strategic support for the effective delivery of the Pathfinder, FI and organising programmes in Scotland and Northern Ireland. 

• Work with key partners to direct Trussell Trust’s policy and public affairs and work with the Scottish government and local authorities across Scotland. 

• Facilitate the sharing of learning from Scotland to help shape our long-term policy and public affairs work in Northern Ireland. 

• Lead the Scotland and Northern Ireland department to ensure the safe and effective operations of the food bank network.

Person Specification 

Technical skills and minimum knowledge: 

• Senior level experience of leading delivery programmes nationally and locally. 

• Senior level experience of directing policy and public affairs programme nationally and locally, and representing the Trussell Trust to senior government representatives, national stakeholders and the media. 

• Expertise of significantly growing and managing services, project and programmes to drive change; leading, motivating and inspiring teams; leading culture change; able to manage multiple projects, identifying conflicting demands and establishing clear priorities in order to meet agreed objectives. 

• An effective communicator, verbally and in writing. Diplomatic and with the interpersonal skills required by the role.

Elders Voice is a local charity serving older people in Brent. We are recruiting a CEO to lead our talented and experienced staff team through a period of change to ensure our financial security.

Elders Voice is an established and trusted charity in the heart of Kensal Green. We believe ageing should be a wonderful and worthwhile journey, but for that to happen older people need to feel safe and happy in their homes and have access to affordable activities in an environment that embraces their differences. 

The pillars of our work are a well-respected handyperson service and a day centre offering a range of activities focusing on health and well-being, socialising, art, gardening and intergenerational work with and for older people.

The CEO will need to embrace our aims and lead the EV team to provide services based on holistic, long-term, high-quality relationships and to ensure that older people shape development of our services. In this difficult economic environment, we need to explore new funding opportunities and transition away from a reliance on local authority funding.

You will report directly to the Chair of the Board of Trustees and be supported by the board and a small, dedicated staff team.

• To lead the staff team to deliver excellent services for older people in Brent.
• To ensure the financial stability of Elders Voice.
• To work with the board of trustees to develop and deliver the strategic plan.
• To act as an ambassador for Elders Voice and the older people we represent.

The role

The Senior PR and Press Officer will raise the voice and impact of the CIPD in media and wider communications activities in pursuit of its core purpose of championing better work and working lives

What you’ll be doing

• Managing incoming media enquiries, ensuring journalists receive a prompt and efficient response and briefing spokespeople to help turn incoming enquiries into opportunities to proactively communicate key messages.
• Maximising media coverage to support the CIPD’s strategic priorities and our research, policy and campaign agenda. This will involve regularly translating policy matters and research findings into accessible news stories that will resonate with different stakeholder audiences.
• Being part of a wider team, which creates and delivers integrated marketing communications campaigns. You will have responsibility for managing the media element of certain campaigns.
• Building and maintaining relationships with trade media, national and broadcast journalists as part of our busy and respected press office. You will also work closely with the editorial team that manage our CIPD magazines: People Management and Work.
• Working with the PR Manager, Head of Marketing Communications, and wider team to protect and enhance the reputation of the CIPD.
• Supporting communications colleagues in our regional and international offices.
• Ensuring that the CIPD’s online media centre is an up-to-date resource for the media, CIPD members and other visitors to the website, and that press releases are distributed in a timely way.
• Proactively placing and writing articles for a variety of media and ensuring all articles from CIPD spokespeople are consistent with the CIPD’s key messages.
• Being part of the team that plan and run the on-site press offices for our annual conferences.
• Building strong working relationships with third party stakeholders, including commercial and strategic partners.

What you’ll need to be successful

• An excellent writer and communicator, able to create compelling copy for a range of audiences and channels.
• Extensive experience and knowledge in media relations.
• Strong awareness of media with good contacts in the national media.
• Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, juggling competing deadlines and shifting priorities at short notice.
• Ability to provide consultancy to the rest of the organisation, including the senior management team.
• A real team player, able to build relationships with teams across the business.
• Able to represent the organisation when working with media and other stakeholders.
• Has a good understanding of using social media channels to further our key messages and ensure that traditional and social media activities are aligned.

The events programme of the Institute is essential to our public profile. All our events, whether in-person, hybrid or entirely online, are produced to a very high standard and often include high-profile speakers and audiences. Our Events Officers work with colleagues across the Institute to deliver our range of public events, roundtables, workshops and conferences.

As part of the events team, within the wider communications team and reporting to the Head of Events, you will:

• Support the design and co-ordination of the Institute’s programme of public and private events, including panel discussions, conferences, receptions, workshops and roundtables.
• Manage all logistics and marketing for timely, professional event organisation and delivery.
• Help prepare for and deliver Institute events outside of London, including our party conference programme.
• Share management of the busy events email inbox and deal with internal and external event enquiries.
