We are looking for a personable Finance Admin Assistant to join our small friendly team. You will carry out;

• Various office and supporter database tasks as well as taking donations over the telephone from supporters
• A range of daily core finance tasks such as accounting for daily receipts, Stewardship and other Charity Card donations.
• Daily account reconciliations for bank accounts and manage all incoming enquiries from supporters and potential supporters

You will need to have a passion for Interserve’s vision and mission as well as at least 2 years experience in a finance or administration role. Experience of using an accounting system or database and IT skills are essential, along with effective administration skills and the ability to handle confidential information sensitively. You should also possess a good standard of numeracy as well as accuracy with detailed spreadsheets. You should be able to work independently and as part of the Finance Team.

Assistant Accountant

We have an opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join the team managing the day-to-day accounting and financial stewardship of the Church, under the supervision of the Finance Manager.

This role offers hybrid and flexible working.

Position: Assistant Accountant

Location: Crawley/West Sussex/hybrid (hybrid working available after on boarding period)

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week (flexible working available)

Salary: £32,000 per annum

The Role

As Assistant Accountant, you will take a lead role in every aspect of the day-today accounting and financial stewardship of the Church, working in collaboration with the staff team. You will assist with the financial setup of new church plants, ensuring a consistent approach across all of the Church partnership of churches, identifying best-practice and ensuring robust checks and balances are in place as the finance function increases in operational complexity.

Consistency, attention to detail, and best practice are key as this role will also help to establish a centralised resource service, offering a limited range of financial services to other selected churches in the town. This is a hands-on role; the successful applicant will enjoy understanding and implementing the detail of charity and church accounting requirements.

About You

You will be AAT qualified (or equivalent) or have significant appropriate experience and with a demonstrative development of skills.

You will have also have had experience of:

• Financial reporting to deadlines
• Financial transaction processes up to Trial Balance
• Payroll management
• Variance reporting

Who we are
Rainforest Trust is a leading global organisation sponsoring the creation and expansion of protected and conserved areas, playing a central role in combating biodiversity loss and fighting climate change. Rainforest Trust UK (RTUK) is set up as a separate charity to tax-efficiently raise funds from donors here in the UK for Rainforest Trust’s conservation projects. We currently work remotely, meeting up 2 days per month in London to work alongside each other in a shared office, or to run events for our supporters. 

Key Responsibilities (see attached job description for full list)
- Deal promptly with donations received on a daily basis, following our processes to ensure supporters are appropriately thanked.
- Respond to day-to-day enquiries from Rainforest Trust UK supporters via phone, email and post.
- Support the Fundraising Manager in sending communications to the donor base, utilising content from Rainforest Trust Global, checking for accuracy and ensuring all communications adhere to Rainforest Trust’s brand guidelines.
- Lead on the daily management of Rainforest Trust UK’s social media channels, including scheduling posts and responding to comments/messages.
- Be the main point of contact for fundraisers, schools and other community groups raising funds for Rainforest Trust UK.

Working Arrangements and Travel Requirements - You will be predominantly home-based (so you will need an excellent internet connection) and expected to commute to London two days per month to work in-person, alongside the team.

Job Summery:

The Research Assistant’s role is to support the whole research team with administrative tasks to deliver their mission more efficiently. This role does not require scientific qualifications.

You will assist with organising meetings, including our Scientific Advisory Board meetings, and associated travel, writing letters and maintaining accurate records. You will be working across the whole research team providing administrative support as required, balancing priorities and liaising with other teams within the charity.

Who we're looking for:

Key accountabilities:

•  Support the organisation of external research meetings such as Scientific Advisory Board meetings and meetings with researchers, including arranging travel, accommodation and meeting space.

Right now, we’re looking for someone like you to join our team in Aylesbury who support service users facing drug and / or alcohol related issues. You will provide the vital administrative, data entry and reporting and reception support the service needs to run smoothly. This is a substance misuse service that works with adults aged 18+ and is run in partnership with Inclusion (MPFT NHS Trust), Aquarius, Connections Support and Build on Belief.

As well as GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above (or equivalent), you have experience of data entry, manipulation and reporting. We’ll also be looking for a background in an admin role where you dealt with people from a wide range of backgrounds, both over the phone and face-to-face. There is a requirement in the role to generate, print and record prescriptions. Familiar with all aspects of electronic communication such as email, diaries and the intranet, you have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Windows files and folders too. What’s more, you have lots of initiative, are great at multi-tasking, work well within a team and under direction from others.

This is a permanent full-time role requiring the post-holder to work 37 hours per week.

This team aims to grow income from the general public to support our vital homelessness services, with activity spanning all stage of the supporter journey through awareness, engagement, donating and loyalty.

St Mungo’s is a leading homelessness charity, and we want to grow public awareness of our work. The Assistant Head of Public Engagement (Brand and Marketing) will lead work to drive increased awareness of St Mungo’s, supporting growth in fundraising income from the general public.

This role will be vital in driving public awareness and engagement with St Mungo’s and our work, to end homelessness and rebuild lives. In this role you will:

• Develop and implement a strategy to drive brand growth, to support an annual income target of £8.5m in Public Engagement, and year on year income growth across fundraising teams.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Income Generation and Engagement Team as an Assistant Community Fundraiser!

As an Assistant Community Fundraiser, you will play an integral part in supporting the Community Fundraising team to reach their annual income target. You will oversee the running of the Edinburgh fundraising office, including stock management and managing a small team of volunteers. You will help support the team by co-ordinating supporter and volunteer communications, and attend fundraising events when required.
