The Philanthropy and Partnerships Team works with Kidney Research UK’s high value supporters, including individuals, ambassadors, trusts and partners. Our focus is on developing long term, strategic, value plus relationships with those who have significant capacity to financially support, influence, and open their networks to positively transform the lives of those affected by kidney disease.

We operate a hybrid, flexible working style. The role is contracted to our Peterborough office and flexibility is required to attend events and meetings. The team come together in the office on a regular basis for in-person team meetings.

Transforming Lives for Good (TLG) are a national Christian charity working in partnership with local churches to bring struggling children hope and a future. Building on the huge success of TLG Early Intervention Coaching, TLG Therapeutic Support will be a new way for TLG, with partner churches, to provide support in school for the increasing number of pupils struggling to cope due to their emotional, relational, and mental health experiences. This programme addresses the underlying issues children are facing, whilst also providing the option of direct support to their parents/carers and the school staff team.

In this role we are looking for an individual that thrives working with children and young people in a school context and is passionate about supporting pupils and their families struggling with emotional, relational, and mental health challenges. The ideal candidate will be a qualified counsellor with an aptitude for creativity whether this is music and drama, sport and outdoor recreation or other fields of kinaesthetic development. The TLG Therapeutic Counsellor will be present each week in the school, providing specialist trauma aware care for these children, whilst supporting staff and parents/carers too, so we're looking for an individual who can build and foster strong relationships.

Where You’ll Be Delivering Our Mission

Most of the time, you’ll be based from our brand new Unloc Leeds office space in the city centre, or delivering programmes in Schools and Colleges in the Leeds City Region. 

You’ll also be out and about delivering programmes to our partners in other areas across the North of England. Occasionally, you will travel to London or Portsmouth (our HQ) to spend time with other teams. You will likely have more travel in your first three months as part of your induction programme. Of course, any travel costs outside of commuting to/from the Leeds city centre office will be covered, alongside an allowance for meals and accommodation.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the implementation of the Unloc Leeds Strategy

• Working in partnership with the Senior Team to ensure the delivery of the Unloc Leeds strategy. This includes;

  • Building new relationships with local schools and colleges. 

  • Facilitating free-to-access Changemaker Challenge days for local schools in Leeds. 

  • Delivery of workshops and presentations, attendance at events to to promote Unloc’s programmes and initiatives to schools, colleges and community groups.

Working in partnership and building new stakeholder relationships

• Liaise and act as a primary point of contact for current key stakeholders to promote Unloc’s work. This will include Local Authorities, Education Trusts, Businesses and Community Interest Groups. 

• Implement engagement strategies to build deep and meaningful new relationships with key stakeholders and people - developing advocacy for Unloc and our mission - and garnering insights into their challenges and priorities.

• Represent Unloc in external meetings, conferences and networking opportunities - building relationships that could support our efforts to generate new income.

Organise, plan and facilitate changemaker projects and programmes

• Organise, plan and facilitate bespoke changemaker events (with support from the Operations and Quality teams) for individual businesses, grant giving bodies, schools & colleges. These will span all four of our programme pillars; youth voice, leadership, entrepreneurship, and careers and employability. This generally involves designing agendas, booking speakers, managing event resources, actively leading individual sessions, briefing event support staff, liaising with key points of contact and managing attendance from multiple schools, colleges and partners.

Managing staff

• To line-manage other members of staff in line with Unloc’s People Management Approach. This includes:

  • Providing wrap around support to individual team members when they require it.

  • Promoting a culture of excellence in programme management and facilitation.

  • Ensuring that facilitators you manage operate in line with Unloc’s policies, procedures and practices whilst instilling Unloc’s core team values.

  • Maintaining a working knowledge of each staff member’s portfolio and current progress on programmes and providing a source of accountability.

  • Holding regular check-in meetings with team members.

  • Carrying out formal progress review meetings with team members every 6 months.

  • Dealing with staff member HR requests and scenarios such as flexible working, holiday requests, sick days, etc.

  • Supporting staff members to make progress against their CPD plans.

  • Providing praise and encouragement to staff members, and formally recognising and sharing excellent practice.

Over the past five years the impact of the Sutton Trust has increased, especially in our programme numbers, securing a relatively stable income of c.£6m over a number of years. In recent years this has grown to c.£7m, and our organisational strategy to 2030/31 will continue this fundraising trajectory to increase income to £12m. With corporate income accounting for nearly half our fundraising, there is considerable enthusiasm and opportunity in the corporate world for building strategic partnerships with The Sutton Trust.

The Corporate Partnerships Officer will join a small and high-performing Corporate Partnerships team, taking over a portfolio of corporate partners and prospects at our ‘consortium’ partner level, ranging from £10k-£50k per annum.

You will identify, engage, secure, and steward corporate partner prospects from sectors that include law, construction, manufacturing and logistics, as well as supporting other team members across different sectors as the need arises. The existing portfolio of partners are primarily legal firms who also engage with our impactful programmes, and you will also have personal and team new business targets and support senior team members to steward our flagship partners.

We are looking for a fundraiser who is keen to develop their corporate fundraising skills, especially building relationships with delivery partners, strategic funders, and corporate foundations. Our ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, a confident communicator, and able to work independently under their own initiative as well as within the team.

The role will be line managed by the Head of Corporate Partnerships, working closely with other members of the Corporate Partnerships team, and collaboratively across the wider Development team and Employability Programmes team. 

Main duties

New business

• Personally scope, develop and secure new corporate partnerships at consortium level (£10k-£50k), aiming for a robust portfolio of partners in assigned sectors with multi-year commitments, working with the Head of Corporate Partnerships and other relevant stakeholders to appropriately to secure and steward.
• Support the Head of Corporate Partnerships to engage in proactive new business development within the corporate sector, including support for network mapping with senior volunteers.
• Manage writing and submission of reports and proposals for grants to corporate foundations, working alongside other Development team and wider organisation members to ensure high-quality submissions.
• Alongside team members, manage the shared Development inbox to ensure all enquiries are dealt with in a prompt, consistent, and friendly manner.
• Follow all relevant policies and processes to ensure due diligence is completed for all prospective donors, account management plans are kept up to date, and corporate partners receive high-quality stewardship.

Account Management and Development

• Manage and grow the portfolio of ‘consortium’ level corporate partnerships, including leveraging existing relationships to maximise financial income and partnership longevity.
• Support senior team members on designated high-value partnerships, including specific administrative and project tasks, e.g. coordinating meetings and webinars, attending programme visits, event invites, and volunteering opportunities.
• Write and deliver engaging and high-quality partnership proposals and reports for new and existing ‘consortium’ level funders, working with the wider Development team and relevant other Sutton Trust teams as appropriate.

Fundraising, Finance and Reporting

• Act as an ambassador for the Trust with external audiences in the corporate space, representing the Trust with confidence and enthusiasm to secure major gifts and develop relationships.
• Ensure the Trust’s CRM (Salesforce), account management plans, and all relevant income pipeline documents are kept appropriately up to date with activity from corporate partners, including accurate income forecasting.
• Attend appropriate meetings, such as the Employer Working Group, to represent the corporate team and portfolio of partners, and share information with colleagues across the Trust.
• Work with colleagues to support delivery of impactful events to cultivate prospects and steward partners, with a focus on experience for corporate partners and prospects.

Mayhew is an exceptionally special animal welfare charity, and we are looking for an equally special candidate to be our Canine Behaviourist.  Our team ensure that every dog and cat in our care receives the expert and personalised care s/he needs, delivered with the understanding, empathy, compassion and love that every dog and cat deserves. 

Our Home in North-West London accommodates our Kennels, Cattery, Veterinary Clinic and more. Our kennels house up to 15 dogs at any one time meaning that our Canine Behaviourist is able to truly get to know each dog as an individual and directly impact his or her outcomes. We are looking for a hands-on, practical, do-er who has the academic knowledge to understand rescue dogs and the practical experience in a shelter environment to design and deliver the training and wellbeing programmes required to create successful rehoming outcomes for each of those pets.

This role sits within the Kennels Team, reporting to the Head of Kennels. Being a team player, who is good with people as well as animals, is an incredibly important part of the skill set we’re looking for. At the same time, we need an energetic self-starter who can work under their own steam to ensure that every dog in our care is having the best day possible and is continuously progressing on his/her journey through Mayhew to a loving and happy forever home.

As you’ll already know from your prior experience, this role can be physically and emotionally demanding but it will also be hugely rewarding; and that is even more so at Mayhew where this post-holder can really help shape things and where we have a manageable number of dogs in our care. Our Canine Behaviourist will:

• Love dogs and be passionately committed to the achievement of each one’s best possible outcome
• In-take Assess all dogs coming into our care and be closely involved with the Head of Kennel’s in-take decisions (bearing in mind that Mayhew receives dogs from some challenging sources including hoarding and poor welfare environments, and dogs with no known history)
• Rehab Assess all dogs in our care to understand them in their current state and identify their training and behaviour-modification needs
• Design and implement their training and behaviour modification plans with support from our Clinical Animal Behaviourist, ensuring continuous improvement and sustained good welfare; being agile and humble enough to change plans when things aren’t working
• Coach and support the Kennel and Animal Carers so that they can help with the delivery of training and behaviour modification plans, helping them feel included and engaged, and embrace up-skilling;
• Ensure the health & safety of the Animal Carers and Volunteers whilst caring for the dogs in our care, having the knowledge, experience, strength and confidence to personally handle more challenging dogs and situations
• Design, and help the Kennel and Animal Carers to implement, individualised wellbeing and enrichment programmes to keep each dog physically and mentally healthy whilst they are with us and have the knowledge and prior experience to make each dog’s plan bespoke to them considering a variety of drivers including play styles, energy levels, sociability, guarding behaviours, preferences, and sources of frustration.
• Liaise with foster families caring for Mayhew dogs at the direction of the Head of Kennels as required
• Undertake each dog’s Rehoming Assessment, working with the Head of Kennels and Dog Adoption Officer to ensure the right rehoming criteria are set on an individual basis. We don’t take a computer-says-no approach, we want to move mountains to find each dog a successful home.
• Be involved in rehoming our longer staying dogs, including interviewing potential adopters
• Perform practical sessions with adopters as part of the rehoming process to ensure that training and behaviour techniques Mayhew has put in place successfully transfer with the dog to their new carer and environment
• Work in accordance with Mayhew’s policies and be experienced, responsible and compassionate to be fully involved in the tough decisions which sometimes face all rescues.

To be successful in this role, you need:

Community Volunteer Officer

The Role

We now have an exciting new role for a Community Volunteer Officer to join our Conservation Education and Engagement Directorate. This role is part of the Networks for Nature project team.

Networks for Nature spans c60 square miles from the River Dee to the River Mersey, including Chester and Ellesmere Port. This is a collaborative partnership project working with Cheshire West and Chester Council, The Land Trust, Cheshire Wildlife Trust, Canal and River Trust, and Sustrans with the aim to drive nature recovery in a mixed-use landscape, creating diverse habitats for species to thrive now and for years to come. We will empower communities to have an active role in conservation action and stewardship and will focus on making nature more accessible to and inclusive for everyone to enable connection and improve wellbeing. As a Community Volunteer Officer, you'll work closely with the Community Volunteer Assistant Manager and Networks for Nature project staff to engage and empower volunteers to make a real impact on conservation efforts. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day volunteer administration, recruitment, and support, while helping to deliver exciting activities, including hands-on conservation projects and training sessions. This is your chance to be at the heart of the Networks for Nature project, contributing to positive change in nature while gaining valuable experience and skills.

Due to the working rota of 10 days in 14 and working every other weekend, there will be some cross-over between the activities delivered within this role and the Wildlife and Wellbeing Officer role.

We’re looking for someone who can:

• Event Planning & Delivery: Help plan and run volunteer events, training, and networking opportunities for community volunteers and Wildlife Champions.
• Logistical Support: Provide support for activities like networking, micro-volunteering, and conservation action days, from small coffee mornings to large events for up to 250 participants.
• Engagement Monitoring: Track participant feedback through surveys and regular check-ins. Collate data about participation in community activities, share data with funders and internal teams.
• Daily Volunteer Engagement: Manage volunteer communications such as emails, newsletters, recruitment, rosters, and event sign-ups. Provide support, encourage engagement, and offer pastoral care as needed.
• Safety & Risk Assessments: With support from the Community Volunteer Assistant Manager, ensure all activities are safe and well-planned, creating personal risk assessments with volunteers if required.
• Training & Development: Assist with training sessions for volunteers and Wildlife Champions to enhance their skills, leading parts of the training when needed.

The Package

• Fixed term contract until September 2028

• Salary £23,893.59 per annum pro rata

Our Requirements

• An understanding & affinity to the organisation’s mission, vision & values, with a strong interest in the conservation of UK nature.
• Experience in working with volunteers
• Strong administrative and organisational skills, with some experience organising events and training
• Experience of delivering activities/training with a wide range of audiences
• Sound working knowledge of computer software systems e.g. Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication and literacy skills including by phone, face to face and via email/online discussion boards
• Excellent time management, administration and planning skills.
• Experience of working in a busy office environment as part of a team & on own initiative
• Full driving licence

Although not essential, the following would be desirable:

• Working knowledge of volunteer management systems
• Experience monitoring and evaluating volunteering activities

Due to the nature of the organisation and the role, this post is subject to a DBS check.
