About the Role

Sense is recruiting a Senior Community Fundraiser, this is a full time permanent position based in our offices in Kings Cross, London. This is a hybrid role, working in the office 2 days per week.

We’re looking for an experience fundraiser to join our Community Fundraising Team, responsible for generating income and engagement, working closely with services, volunteers and engagement staff. The successful candidate will support and deliver the community fundraising strategy, growing our portfolio and building new long-term relationships for Sense. You will be responsible for generating income for Sense, supporting the delivery of our Community Team income target of £569,000, enabling community fundraising to become a dependable source of income for the charity.

The main duties and responsibilities include:

• To ensure all community supporters are given the highest level of customer care and that all enquiries and requests for support are responded to quickly and effectively.
• To focus on growing income for Community Team across two key areas - groups and associations and schools and universities.
• The Senior Community Fundraiser will lead on the Community Team’s national projects and communicate updates and plans effectively with the team.
• To achieve agreed income targets, monitoring and forecasting on a regular basis and taking remedial action when necessary.
• Build effective and consistent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and to engage and enthuse them about activities of the Community Fundraising team.
• To work closely with the wider Fundraising Directorate in order to break down silo working and ensure that all opportunities for fundraising are maximised and knowledge sharing takes place Directorate-wide.
• To work with colleagues in our Operations and Trading teams to develop their fundraising potential and supporting them with fundraising ideas and collateral.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Understanding of Community based fundraising trends.
• Evidence of own continuing professional development.
• 2-3 years’ experience in a community fundraising environment.
• Experience providing the highest level of stewardship to supporters / fundraisers or customers.
• Experience managing projects, with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable regularly speaking to both current supporters and potential supporters in person and by the phone.
• Experience of working with budgets and financial targets.
• Experience with proposal writing or grant writing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to keep clear and accurate records, producing reports and analysis and presenting them in an effective way to stakeholders and Head of Team.

Introduction to the Role

We are looking for a Research and Policy Officer (Maternity Cover) to join our expanding Policy and Research department, which also oversees the TDS Charitable Foundation. This is a pivotal role supporting our mission to improve standards in the private rented sector through impactful research, thought leadership, and policy engagement.
The successful candidate will play a key part in delivering our research programme, including overseeing flagship projects like the Voice of the Tenant and Voice of the Landlord surveys, and producing high-quality qualitative and quantitative research.

You will also support the smooth running of the Charitable Foundation’s grant-making and governance activities and contribute to our work influencing policy and practice across the UK’s private rented sector.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Research

The Independent Training, delivered in collaboration with IPCAPA at the British Psychotherapy Foundation (bpf) and the Anna Freud Centre/UCL is seeking progress advisors to support 4-5 trainees on the Doctorate in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy training from the start of their training through to completion.

This is an exciting opportunity to guide and support trainees in their development as future child psychotherapists. The successful postholders will liaise with the year 1 tutor, clinical and research tutors, service supervisors and intensive case supervisors. There will be regular team meetings with the year tutor other progress advisors responsible for the year group. Outside of this, working hours are flexible.

We are looking for ACP registered Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists with current CAMHS experience, who have an active interest in working with our year tutor and staff group to support trainees’ progress. The role may suit new career CAPts who wish to develop connections and experience within the field of CAPy training schools. There will be opportunity to take advantage of in house training to become an Intensive Case Supervisor and for additional paid hours of clinical teaching such as practice or clinical seminar groups as appropriate.

The Role

You will be a part of the youth service working on the local council sites and a community centre in Wakefield and Bradford, where you will build trusted relationships with young members (age range 5 to 17). Working with families living on site, with some engagement (outreach) of young people living on yards, in houses and potentially roadside. You will get to know them, their goals, talents and challenges and together with them, you will build an ongoing programme of activities.

The youth work programme through weekly group work and regular 1-1 sessions, covers such key issues and topics such as mental health, education, relationships, staying safe, human rights and future hopes. The sessions are planned around building key core skills such as building confidence, leadership and team building skills, positive communication and joint decision making.

The youth service supports young people to be less isolated, have better connections to opportunities, have greater pride and the opportunity to celebrate their ethnicity and pride. Developing partnerships with organisations who can bring their projects to our young people and support them to access opportunities off site.

About You

You will be confident to work in a busy, fast paced, community facing environment that is committed to person-centred working, with active listening skills and an empathetic approach.  You will be resilient and adaptable, and enjoy working in a role with competing priorities and deadlines.

Knowledge and experience;

• Have at least 2 years experience of working with young people, either as an employee, volunteer. 
• Have experience of delivering group work for children and young. (Co-production and involving young people in session design and delivery) 
• Have some experience in keeping records and designing session plans. 
• Good working knowledge and understanding of safeguarding principles, policies and procedures 
• Have skills in building trusted relationships and developing children and young peoples strengths

If successful you will be based at “The ARC Youth Club”, an estate based youth led centre with integrated music studio, kitchen, games and "chill-out" space. You will deliver a range of activities e.g. cooking, arts & crafts, sports, trips, music, events etc. You will also offer support and guidance for local young people and enable them to develop life long skills while designing and running their own projects, forums etc. In school holidays you will be required to work an expected 28 hrs a week as we offer a full program of activities and free meals for young people

React is a small, well regarded, charity that was established in 1989.  It provides Rapid Effective Assistance to Children with Potentially Terminal illness.
