Regional Net Zero Carbon Fundraising Officer

Salary £35,000 - £38,000 FTE

35 hours per week

Are you an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record of stakeholder engagement and experience of coordinating and developing large-scale funding proposals? Do you have a passion for the environment and reducing carbon emissions? If so, read on.

The Church of England’s Net Zero Carbon (NZC) programme has been established to help the Church deliver its commitment to reaching its NZC goals. It aims to equip, resource and support all parts of the Church to reduce carbon emissions from the energy used in its buildings, schools and through work-related transport.

All parts of the Church will need to raise funds to implement this Net Zero plan. To this end, the Dioceses of Chelmsford, Ely, Norwich, St Albans and St Edmundsbury and Ipswich are collaborating on the shared ambition to achieve NZC across our diocesan estates and are looking to appoint a Fundraising Officer to work across the region to identify funding opportunities and secure funding towards delivering net carbon zero projects.

This is a new role and, as such, offers an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to make their mark. You will develop and maintain relationships with a range of potential funders and internal and external stakeholders across the region. You’ll need drive, initiative, resilience and the ability to shape an approach to NZC fundraising across the region. Above all, you’ll need to be an excellent communicator and relationship builder with a proven ability to adapt your approach as appropriate, be this creating links with the national NZC Team, influencing and securing funding from grant-making bodies, or delivering training and advice on securing funding locally. Given the scope and nature of the role you’ll also need to be highly organised, flexible and sympathetic to the ethos of the Church of England.

We recognise that this is a specialised role, and training and support will be available for the post-holder both locally and from the national Church of England NZ Fundraising team.

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are also required. The role will be home-based and can be anywhere within the region, with regular travel across the region required. The role will be employed by the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich so line management meetings will be in Ipswich.

CoSRH is the leader in the field of sexual and reproductive healthcare, and we are the voice for healthcare professionals working at the frontline of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (SRH) in a range of settings in the community and primary care. About the role

This role plays an integral part in helping produce and develop the outputs of the External Affairs team. The activity of the role focuses on undertaking policy, influencing and other public affairs activity inclusive of ensuring the CoSRH’s Hatfield Vision achieves its aims to improve reproductive healthcare for all, and assisting the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare (SRH) with its programme of activity.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with an interest in healthcare policy and a passion for improving society. Experience of working in policy, public affairs, campaigning, as well as experience of working in a project environment is desirable. Excellent writing skills are essential, as is a broad understanding of communications techniques to engage policy makers around the issues that clinicians and the public alike face.

We are seeking two compassionate and patient Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will work closely with students who require additional support to reach their full potential. About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced practitioner to join Become’s Care Advice Service. They will respond to enquiries to our independent national Care Advice Line (CAL), advising children and young people in and leaving care, and professionals and caregivers supporting them, so that young people understand and access their rights, are signposted to specialist support, and feel less alone as they navigate care. They will deliver workshops and advice surgeries in the West Midlands, advising care experienced young people and care leavers to understand their rights.

Location

We are currently hybrid working: our team primarily works from home with in-person attendance and meetings generally expected once or twice per month, usually at our central hot-desking location in Old Street, London. For non-London based staff we will consider hot-desking options near you, if required. This role will deliver regular in-person workshops and advice surgeries in the West Midlands. The Work Rights Centre, in partnership with the LEF Fellowship Programme, is looking for a Trainee Solicitor to join our ambitious and driven team. We are a charity set up by migrants and for migrants, and every day our multilingual team of legal advisers stand up for their employment rights and secure their immigration status. 

This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate with a strong sense of justice, who is looking to build a career in a legal profession. This role will suit someone who values impact, and the opportunity to make a real  difference in the lives of vulnerable migrant workers and disadvantaged Britons.

You will be able to learn from three experienced solicitors, exercise your skills as an adviser, and progress your career in a friendly and supportive environment. The LEF Fellowship Programme will cover the cost of your mandatory legal training and exams. By the end of two years you will have had the chance to complete your SQE training and gain the required practical experience to fully qualify as a solicitor.

The role

As the Trainee Solicitor,  you’ll work on a stimulating range of issues across two wide areas of law -  Immigration (in Year 1) and Employment (in Year 2). You will learn how best to support vulnerable clients with limited English language and digital skills, how to spot signs of modern slavery or manage safeguarding concerns.

Working with our immigration team, you will help clients understand and secure their immigration status in the UK. You will support clients who have limited leave to remain (e.g. on employer-sponsored visas, Ukraine Visa Schemes, or pre-settled EUSS status) or who are entirely undocumented. Working with our employment team, you will work on cases involving non-payment of wages, non-provision of work, unlawful deductions, race and gender discrimination, or unfair dismissals. Crucially, you will have the opportunity to understand the real-life intersection of the two areas of law, as they are often experienced by the same clients. 

This is a brilliant opportunity to gain well-rounded experience across all stages of the legal process, including interviewing clients, collecting information and assessing evidence, taking down witness statements, providing over the phone and written advice, and collating evidence bundles. 

Alongside your legal work and SQE2 study, you will complete an independent social justice project aligned with your personal interests and objectives of the charity. This might entail legal research, sourcing strategic cases, or compiling data on the impact of the current policies. Working on this project will give you an opportunity to conduct strategic legal work contributing to systemic change.

The Role

The Events Assistant will provide administrative and event delivery support to the Head of Events and the Events Coordinator in the planning and delivery of physical and virtual meetings, events and courses.

We are looking for a motivated and adaptable individual with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and a collaborative approach. You should come to us with experience working in an events environment, or the completion of an Events Management course.

This promises to be an exciting and busy role so you will need to be comfortable working in a fast paced environment, and have the ability to multitask effectively demonstrating a high level of customer service skills.
