We are currently looking for an Academic Training and Development Lead at the Francis Crick Institute. In this role you’ll work alongside the Head of Academic Programmes, to design and deliver innovative, inclusive training programmes for our PhD students and postdocs, supporting the next generation of scientific leaders. Leading a small team, you will work closely with colleagues across the Crick and our university partners to ensure our training offer reflects the evolving needs of interdisciplinary research.
From launching new frameworks to enhancing existing programmes, your work will directly support a positive and forward-thinking research culture. This role is ideal for someone with a strong scientific background, experience in researcher development, and a genuine commitment to empowering early-career scientists.
What you will be doing
- Provide support to the Head of Academic Programmes to deliver the Crick PhD and Postdoc programmes
- Design and implement, alongside the Academic Training and Career Development Project Manager, a new Crick Postdoc Development Framework
- Lead, develop, motivate and performance manage the Academic Training and Career Development Project Manager to deliver their objectives
- Identify and consider the development of new science training and researcher development programmes for Crick PhD students and postdocs
- Evaluate Crick science training activities, refining to ensure that they are effective, current and support cutting edge research
- Ensure effective communication and consultation at relevant committees (e.g. Training & Career Development Committee, Postdoc Committee, PhD student committee)
- Scoping and investigating training and development activities provided by the Crick’s partners and other institutions, to identify opportunities for collaboration
- Lead on projects and work with the broader academic training team, the Crick Academy team and the People team, in other areas as required
- Lead on the continuous delivery of Vitae’s Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers at the Crick
What you will bring
(Minimum criteria *)
- Experience of working at a senior level in a dynamic scientific environment and higher education/research setting*
- Proven advanced skills in facilitation and/or teaching in a research or academic setting*
- Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the management, training and development of staff in research and technology groups, preferably through experience
- Educated to PhD level and with post-PhD experience in a science discipline, or relevant, significant experience*
- Experience in leading the design and successful delivery of scientific training and development activities*
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of academic and professional colleagues
- Proven ability to work successfully with multiple stakeholders across a complex organisation.

We are seeking a flexible, reliable, and enthusiastic Sessional Worker to support the delivery of services for Young Carers aged 5–16. The role involves two key parts. The second is supporting with outreach to local schools, colleges, community settings and professionals to identify and engage Young Carers.
About The Role:
You will work across two key age groups, 5–11 and 12–16, delivering and supervising activities, supporting events and trips, and providing behavioural management where needed. You will deliver awareness training sessions, run stalls and aim to identify and engage Young Carers in the community. You will also help ensure young Carers feel heard, included, and supported as they navigate the challenges of their caring roles. Main purpose of job

Main purpose of job
The Legacy and In Memory Fundraiser will lead the development and implementation of strategies to grow income from gifts in wills and in-memory donations. We are working in partnership with Richard House Children’s Hospice to secure their new CRM and Supporter Care Officer. Richard House helps children and their families in East London to lead as happy a life as possible when dealing with a life-limiting health condition. From the moment a child is diagnosed with a life-limiting, life-threatening or complex health condition everything changes. These changes affect the whole family, which is why Richard House feel it is vital not only to provide care to the child but to support the whole family. As a member of the fundraising team, you will directly support the charity’s work, as the majority of their services are funded thanks to the generosity of their supporters.
The CRM and Supporter Care Officer will be responsible maintaining and updating the charity's CRM database (Raiser’s Edge), ensuring it effectively supports fundraising management, and key operational areas. The role will also have wider responsibilities, including supporting fundraising events and in the cultivation and stewardship of the charity's donors, partners, funders and supporters.
This role is offered on an interim basis, but with the option to become permanent.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
- Experience of using CRM systems, ideally Raiser’s Edge or similar.
- Experience in a customer service or support role.
- Broad understanding/knowledge of the main fundraising streams.

The role
Effective financial management is central to our strategy and operating model. The Finance Manager will be crucial in determining how we manage our finances, resources and operations whilst embedding a culture of financial efficiency and effective controls.

JUSTICE is looking to recruit an Interim Head of Governance and Operations to join our friendly, values-led team. This is a fixed term post for 12 months (maternity cover) and provides an exciting opportunity for someone who has experience of governance and operational management.
We are looking for an individual who has an interest in the purpose of the charity (to improve the UK justice system so that it is fair and within everyone’s reach), as well as a keen interest in taking responsibility for a diverse and wide range of tasks from providing and overseeing the secretariat functions related to our governance and risk as well as leading in important cross-cutting areas such as audit, budget management and providing HR support. This role will really suit someone who enjoys working with people, is comfortable with a degree of autonomy and who thrives in a role where no two days are the same.
This role plays a central role in the workings of the organisation including with our Policy Team, our Comms Team and our Development Team. They also join Senior Management Team meetings and all Board and Committee meetings. The role currently line manages one direct report but this may be increased to two and reports into and works closely with the Chief Executive. This role also leads on the relationships with our accountants (who deliver our financial management and accounting functions) and other external contractors.
