Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test and maintain features for Charityjob using .NET 9 and SQL Server.
- Work with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure SQL, Blob Storage, and Azure Cognitive Search.
- Collaborate daily via Microsoft Teams with Product Managers, QA, and fellow developers.
- Participate fully in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to front-end development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and occasionally ReactJS.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code with an emphasis on performance and scalability.
- Offer technical input on architecture and best practices, and support less experienced developers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in .NET web development (ideally .NET Core / .NET 8 or 9).
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server and experience designing relational databases.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (SQL, Storage, Search, etc.).
- Front-end development skills in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and ReactJS.
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Experience working in a Scrum/Agile setting.
Desirable
- Experience with CI/CD using Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with automated testing tools and practices.

We are seeking an experienced, strategic and collaborative Head of Communications and External Engagement to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in shaping Martingale’s external profile, strategic partnerships, and policy influence.
As Head of Communications and External Engagement, you will join our growing senior management team, overseeing several critical aspects of Martingale’s work: communications and recruitment; partnerships and fundraising; and policy and advocacy. Summary
The Church of England is continually striving to improve its safeguarding practices. The 2020 report by IICSA on the Church highlighted failures in respect of child sexual abuse and, more broadly, the challenges facing the Church to get safeguarding right.
The Church's aspiration is that safeguarding is not experienced and approached as a matter of administrative compliance. Rather, it should be what the Church is - something that flows from its core beliefs and values, part of its DNA.
The Church has made important and positive strides over recent years. There is, however, still much to be done to keep children and vulnerable adults safe, and to promote their well-being.
The Church is a complex collection of different bodies. Most of the safeguarding work is carried out locally within the 42 dioceses and cathedrals in England. This work is supported centrally by a National Safeguarding Team (NST).
Every diocese employs a Diocesan Safeguarding Officer (DSO)*. Many also employ Assistant Diocesan Safeguarding Officers (ADSOs). DSOs take the lead on safeguarding matters for the diocese - particularly the management of allegations of abuse by Church Officers**. Some cathedrals employ a Cathedral Safeguarding Officer (CSO) or have an agreement with their diocese for the DSO to take the lead on safeguarding operational matters.
In response to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) in the Anglican Church, published in October 2020, a regional model was piloted as a means of delivering Recommendation 1. Since the pilot concluded in March 2024, approval has been granted to implement the model across England and this work will begin from September 2024. Recruitment to these additional Regional Safeguarding Lead posts will enable the National Safeguarding Team to deliver IICSA Recommendation 1.

About the role
As the Specialist Social Worker, you will lead the “Serving Women, Never Battle Alone” initiative. This pioneering project provides personalised, confidential advice, practical and emotional support, and advocacy for serving women in the military who are experiencing bullying, harassment, or sexual abuse. The service is available across the UK and open to women in both the Regular and Reservist Armed Forces.
The project is a brand-new service and will be a UK wide first for the Armed Forces. You will have the ability to shape a service that offers a specific service to females in the military, using data and ongoing casework to enhance support structures and ensure that women are truly ‘Safe to Serve’.
The role will involve travel to deliver in-person support to individuals accessing the service, which may include emotional and physical assistance in engaging with relevant authorities, in line with their wishes.
As the Specialist Social Worker, you will be responsible for delivering support and guidance through a Single Point of Contact (SPOC), responding to serving women who reach out to the service, and raising awareness and understanding of the initiative both within SSAFA and among external stakeholders.
About the team
The role sits within the Social Care Directorate, under the broader Safeguarding Team, and reports directly to the Principal Safeguarding Officer (PSO). While you will be the sole practitioner delivering the project, you will have ongoing support from the PSO. Additionally, the Specialist Social Worker will sit on SSAFA’s Safeguarding Board who meet quarterly.

Job Summary
When someone goes missing, Missing People provides help to families, friends and professional carers who wish to publicise their appeal. This can be through the charity’s website resources, appeals and opportunities for publicity in the media.
You will support families, friends and professional carers to make appeals when someone has officially been reported as missing. The role will involve communicating in a timely, compassionate and knowledgeable manner with people experiencing the trauma of missing someone and managing families’ initial expectations of the service. You will assess the most appropriate activities to safeguard and reconnect the missing person and be responsible for police liaison and updates. You will assess with families the use of public display publicity which may begin after 3 days and help families to understand what they can do themselves. You will work closely with the Communications team, providing them with accurate and timely information if publicity is the appropriate choice. You will also access and process 'Urgent missing’ requests and work with the Communications team to make the alert happen.
You will understand the needs of longer-term families who still want to publicise their missing person, and you will advocate on their behalf to help make sure their voice is heard.
You will work collaboratively with specialists in Family Support, Publicity, Helpline and Fundraising & Communications teams to support the families and missing people we are here to help.
Key Accountabilities:
Service delivery
• Assess and process incoming requests from, family members, friends and professional carers and agree the most suitable support and publicity actions. Manage requests with high standards of accuracy, risk and criteria management, data management, and confidentiality;

As a Caseworker, you will provide trauma-informed care to individuals and families suffering from the sudden bereavement or life-altering injury of a loved one. Working mostly remotely, with some home visits to service users, you’ll offer vital emotional and practical support—including helping them access therapeutic resources, financial assistance, and guidance through the complexities of medical and legal processes.

Who we're looking for
Full training will be provided under the guidance of our dedicated Training Officer. Our induction program has been developed to equip caseworkers with the skills they need to provide high quality support to road victims and covers topics such as being trauma-informed, safeguarding and risk management. We're open to candidates from all sorts of backgrounds, as long as you're a compassionate, self-starter with a background in providing high-quality emotional support and advocacy. Your experience in roles within the NHS, any health and social care, road safety, counselling, lived experience or any type of casework could make you an ideal candidate.
Essential Requirements:
- A full, clean UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (travel expenses are reimbursed)
- Resident in the north/central area of the South West Region.
- Experience delivering frontline support, preferably involving sudden bereavement or heightened vulnerabilities.
· Strong advocacy and research skills to liaise with multiple organisations on behalf of service users.
- Competency in I.T skills to work remotely.

The Work Rights Centre, in partnership with the LEF Fellowship Programme, is looking for a Trainee Solicitor to join our ambitious and driven team. We are a charity set up by migrants and for migrants, and every day our multilingual team of legal advisers stand up for their employment rights and secure their immigration status.
This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate with a strong sense of justice, who is looking to build a career in a legal profession. This role will suit someone who values impact, and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable migrant workers and disadvantaged Britons.
You will be able to learn from three experienced solicitors, exercise your skills as an adviser, and progress your career in a friendly and supportive environment. The LEF Fellowship Programme will cover the cost of your mandatory legal training and exams. By the end of two years you will have had the chance to complete your SQE training and gain the required practical experience to fully qualify as a solicitor.
The role
As the Trainee Solicitor, you’ll work on a stimulating range of issues across two wide areas of law - Immigration (in Year 1) and Employment (in Year 2). You will learn how best to support vulnerable clients with limited English language and digital skills, how to spot signs of modern slavery or manage safeguarding concerns.
Working with our immigration team, you will help clients understand and secure their immigration status in the UK. You will support clients who have limited leave to remain (e.g. on employer-sponsored visas, Ukraine Visa Schemes, or pre-settled EUSS status) or who are entirely undocumented. Working with our employment team, you will work on cases involving non-payment of wages, non-provision of work, unlawful deductions, race and gender discrimination, or unfair dismissals. Crucially, you will have the opportunity to understand the real-life intersection of the two areas of law, as they are often experienced by the same clients.
This is a brilliant opportunity to gain well-rounded experience across all stages of the legal process, including interviewing clients, collecting information and assessing evidence, taking down witness statements, providing over the phone and written advice, and collating evidence bundles.
Alongside your legal work and SQE2 study, you will complete an independent social justice project aligned with your personal interests and objectives of the charity. This might entail legal research, sourcing strategic cases, or compiling data on the impact of the current policies. Working on this project will give you an opportunity to conduct strategic legal work contributing to systemic change.
