One person in five in the UK will be affected by a lung condition. As the only UK charity for people affected by all lung and respiratory conditions – from mild asthma through to lung cancer – the Asthma UK-British Lung Foundation Partnership is here for every one of them. We provide support, fund vital research, and campaign for better prevention, treatment and care.
In 2020 the Asthma UK and British Lung Foundation merged into one organisation. Out of this an opportunity has now arisen to join our future thinking and efficient Technology team, in the newly created role of IT Infrastructure and Services Manager (Technology Engagement Lead). The role will report to the Director of Technology and will manage the Digital and Web Technologies Assistant. Engaging with staff from across the Partnership, this role will ensure the day to day operational functions of the IT department remain aligned to the Charities business objectives.
This is a new role for the organisation and is a blend of infrastructure support, support service delivery wrapped in a business partnering framework. You will have responsibility for developing and maintaining the IT infrastructure, so that it remains responsive and flexible, able to adjust to future needs and project requirements. You will also be responsible for the daily support requirements of staff, working with our MSP and other partners to provide an effective and timely service.
The environment is reasonably complex with Azure and hosted data centre environments, full O365 deployment, multiple website environments, Mitel VOIP phone and conferencing systems. A lot of work has been completed merging the two charities into one seamless IT environment. This work needs refining and developing to ensure it meets the organisations future requirements. There is also several large projects taking place which this role will have input into namely: a MS Dynamics deployment, Merging websites onto one CMS, Hybrid Mail, purchase to pay and of course support all our staff in a remote working capacity.
You will have excellent customer service skills, a passion for support, excellent all-round IT skills (both Support and Infrastructure) and some experience delivering services for a 3rd sector organisation. You will be organised, a strong communicator and a team player. You will be able to see the detail without losing sight of the bigger picture
You will interact with colleagues at all levels and with all teams across the organisation. You will be able to move seamlessly between the pragmatic and the strategic, reacting to issues whilst planning for the future.
This role provides a great opportunity to develop your IT management and business partnering skillset, whilst helping the Partnership deliver support and services to our beneficiaries.
As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits including our cycle-to-work scheme, interest-free annual season Travelcard loan, 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), pension scheme and much more.
