Prospectus is delighted to be working with our client n to recruit a Part-time Grants & Admin Officer to join its small but busy team based in lovely offices in Chelsea. This role will work the equivalent of 3.5 days per week worked over 4 or 5 days.
 
The role
 
This role will work closely with the Director and the Schools Programme Manager to provide broad and comprehensive administrative and coordination support to the overall running of this established and highly regarded family foundation. This will include ensuring existing systems and processes are adhered to and updated where necessary, grantees are dealt with promptly, cordially and professionally and the running of the office is efficient and smooth.
 
The role will be responsible for coordinating financial processes, grants administration, office and facilities coordination and executive support to the CEO in addition to arranging high level trustee meetings and wider administrative tasks as they arise. This role will also manage key relationships with contractors who offer external support such as Finance and Website development, in addition to responding to enquiries from existing and potential grantees, advising on process, eligibility criteria and application cycles.
 
The person
 
The successful candidate will have substantial office based, administration experience with broad and wide-ranging coordination skills, spanning office systems, stakeholder engagement, customer service, process management and facilities support.
 
This experience would ideally have been gained in the charity, education or arts-based sectors to compliment the work of the foundation, but similarly, could have been gained from the corporate or statutory sectors where thorough and highly organised processes and procedures have been crucial to success. Helpful, warm and friendly, but firm, fair and confident, this person will have an excellent eye for detail, will be a great communicator, both verbally and in writing and will have a solutions driven approach.
 
Approachable by nature, this person will also be highly numerate, organised and efficient with strong IT skills and the ability to navigate databases and all standard MS Office packages to a competent level. This person will have experience of organising and facilitating high level meetings (for example trustees or senior leadership team) and capable of preparing papers and following up actions to ensure objectives are met and ambitions are achieved. Close, collaborative working is essential to success at the foundation so this person will be a real team player, happy to roll their sleeves up and help out wherever necessary.
 
This person will be naturally interested in the charitable work of the organisation and will see this role as an opportunity to play an important part of the effort to improve people’s lives and to create positive change in arts, education, social welfare and health in the UK.

Significant opportunity

We have a significant opportunity to put the tools into the hands of those working with Children, Young People and Families that will better equip them to see young lives transformed. 

Scripture Union are looking to appoint two Content Creators: One specialising in under 11s & families and one specialising in Young People.  You will see that our current portfolio is extensive, but we would like to ensure that we add to it with focused material (whether digital or physical, whether free or paid for).  You will both be involved in the creation of new content and in contracting other specialists who have skills in communicating to children and young people that we would like to develop.  Also, promoting those resources at various conferences and festivals to complement the work of our marketing team. 

Working Patterns

The role is remote with some travel to our Head Office at Trinity House Milton Keynes to collaborate face to face with the rest of the team. 

Part Time options can also be considered, but we will give priority to those who can work at least three days a week and a commitment for a physical presence in Milton Keynes as the role requires but no more than once weekly.   

Also, flexible working may be necessary when promoting resources.

You will be joining our small, passionate NGO to lead our resource development. About the Department/Role

Data Services is part of the Central Services of the Church of England, providing statistical information, analysis, research and consultancy.  The team works collaboratively with the NCIs, dioceses and parishes collecting and assembling data to support the Church’s missional, pastoral and operational activities through high-quality information and analysis.   This is used locally, at parish, diocesan and national levels, involving the Team in a wide range of customer contacts and interfaces

The Data Services Team works to promote data collection that is efficient and effective, producing high-quality services and deliverables geared to a varied range of customer needs.  Within the Team, the Data and Analysis unit leads on carrying out data collection and analysis and establishing best practice for research and use of data. It acts as the professional centre of excellence to inform and assist operational and development work within the Team, the NCIs, and the wider Church of England.

What you'll be doing
The purpose of this role is to support the mission of the Church of England by ensuring that high quality data are collected, made available, and appropriately used in decision-making at local, regional, and national level.  This analyst role also carries an emphasis on supporting the Church of England to achieve net zero carbon by 2030.  50% of the role will support the Net Zero programme by running the Energy Footprint tool, working with Dioceses and Churches to collect energy data, analysing the resulting dataset and reporting to assist with tracking the important progress of this work. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

• Working with data received from churches, parishes, dioceses, and cathedrals to ensure best possible quality in terms of consistency, timeliness and accuracy, including undertaking an appropriate share of routine validation and processing.
• Analysing data, and preparing reports for publication of statistics relating to church attendance, parish finances, ministry, cathedrals, parish census and deprivation, and other agreed Business as Usual (BAU) deliverables.
• Overseeing the Energy Footprint Tool, including leading on question design, data analysis, and reporting
•  Responding to queries regarding the Energy Footprint Tool from diocesan colleagues
•  Producing analysis and reports to aid Net Zero decision making
• Working with key stakeholders to review and improve data collection processes and ensuring these are accurately documented, tested and implemented.
• Providing professional expertise and support to colleagues leading other work within the Data Services Team.
• Providing analysis, insight and statistical advice in response to NCIs’, Synodical, Parliamentary and official enquiries and working parties, including the drafting of responses and material for publication.
• Assisting, advising and providing professional support for the creation and development of resources that will help churches, parishes and dioceses better understand and engage with their data.
• Helping to organise and contribute to Data Services events and activities, including those for diocesan and NCI colleagues and members of General Synod.

Play a strategic and leading role in the development and delivery of support programmes across Big Issue Changing Live CIC.

Big Issue Changing Lives CIC is looking for a Director for Programmes and Partnerships to lead the development and delivery of national programmes of support across Big Issue Recruit and Street Sales, test new ways of working and develop key partnerships to improve outcomes for people experiencing poverty across the UK.

You will also identify fundraising priorities, build national strategic partnerships, deliver a volunteer programme to improve engagement across local communities and lead on safeguarding across the CIC.

As an individual you will have experience of delivering services to achieve agreed targets, and of generating income to develop and grow these services, have excellent networking skills, possess a good understanding of third-party organizations relating to homelessness, universal credit, mental health, substance abuse and employment, and knowledge of poverty and homelessness issues and the difficulties vulnerably housed people face.

You will enjoy autonomy and working on your initiative, but will also enjoy working as part of a team and be able to create a collaborative and focussed working environment, both within your own department and as a member of the senior management team of the Big Issue Group. As a Housing Domestic Abuse Advocate, you will provide intervention, advocacy, and support to survivors of domestic abuse. Working within a fast-paced team, you will help empower women and ensure that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. You will have your own caseload of survivors who hold social tenancies with local authorities or housing associations, and you will encourage them to engage with our service and ensure they have access to support. You will also co-ordinate the provision of multi-agency support which focuses on working with domestic abuse survivors to maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness.

About You:

To be successful as the Domestic Abuse Housing Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

You will bring solid experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms; coming from a sector with transferrable skills or possess a feminist/VAWG degree and be keen to learn and to train on the job. You will have a good understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families, and communities. You will have proven skills and experience in conducting comprehensive assessments of needs and risk for survivors experiencing domestic abuse, including carrying out short risk management and safety planning. We will expect that you have experience in assessing the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have and an understanding of the criminal justice system and relevant legislation with regard to legal and civil options, housing, benefits, matrimonial and children. Lastly you will bring your knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures, and legislation.

With many skills and qualities to add to this role, if you have good IT literacy, data collection and monitoring these skills are maximised in your role. If you have experience or have been trained or are qualified in the fields related to substance misuse, criminal justice, law, social work or domestic abuse we would love to hear from you.
