Spark Inside runs coaching programmes in prisons across London and the South East, to encourage rehabilitation and reduce reoffending. 

We are one of the first organisations to take life coaching to people living and working in prison and to use systems coaching to bring together staff and prisoners in UK prisons. Our expert coaches are qualified and trained professionals. In addition to developing and delivering innovative coaching programmes, we are also committed to working with parliamentarians and government officials to influence criminal justice policy, and shift the perception of people in prison, platforming their voices and highlighting their unlocked potential.

To achieve our ambitious strategy, Spark Inside is seeking a Communications Manager to help raise the charity’s public profile, build influence with policymakers, attract funders and commissioners, and ensure the lived experience of young people in the justice system shapes our messaging, campaigns and strategy.

You will work with the Head of Communications and Advocacy to deliver a programme of compelling external communications activities through digital, print, press and events in order to increase Spark Inside’s visibility and ensure our key messages are wide-reaching and impactful.

You will report to the Head of Communications & Advocacy and work closely alongside our Participation and Engagement Manager and Policy Lead, with line management responsibility for a part-time Communications Officer. You will also work with a range of external freelancers on design, film and print. You will build and maintain good relationships with colleagues across the whole Spark Inside team, offering support and advice as well as drawing on their expertise and insights to make our communications impactful and engaging.

While target-driven, you will have a supportive style and work in a highly collaborative way with colleagues across the organisation.

You will share a passion for our cause, and a commitment to high standards. You will be highly organized, enthusiastic and motivated, with a talent for building relationships and networking. We are now looking for a skilled Product and Partnerships Manager, to manage setting up these new future partnerships for success

Working as part of an Implementation team, this role will manage the design and stand up of innovative new partnerships to support our customers with their retirement plans This will involve working with proposed partners to finalise the 'nuts and bolts' of how new products and referral paths will work in practice, with a focus on housing and financial services partnership areas. It will also involve setting up commercial arrangements that offer value for money and prioritise a seamless customer experience. Using your expertise, you will also support our teams to make the most of and broaden existing partnerships.

Working as part of one of our programme teams, and with NCI finance, audit & risk and procurement teams:

• Quickly understand the existing partnership landscape - assessing where we need to formalise fledgling partnerships to bring new products and choices to our members, and where we need to conduct more due diligence or cultivate new opportunities.
• Build a good rapport with prospective partners, setting out a clear plan for getting from detailed design to a workable product and customer journey as quickly as possible.
• Working with partners to ensure excellent customer experience for our members, with seamless integration into other services and support offered by the Church.
• Run procurement and commercial negotiation processes to formally establish essential partnerships- likely to be a mix of invitation to tender style processes, and more innovative investment partnerships.
• Work collaboratively with internal colleagues to establish robust back-office processes to govern flow of money and data between partners and the Church, including defining and implementing feedback/reporting processes.
• Set the foundations of good partnership/supplier management, including a strong focus on quality assurance.
• Provide expertise to our team on navigating regulated markets e.g. knowing what type of questions to ask and when to seek specialist advice.
• Work with communications colleagues, to ensure that new choices supported by partners are communicated appropriately mindful of regulatory lines and the intended audience.
• Coach and support colleagues who are setting up signposting/informal partnerships with a range of housing providers, as to how to establish those relationships and ensure their success.
• Design and implement the right horizon scanning mechanisms within the team to help colleagues keep abreast of relevant developments around in financial advice, housing and related markets.
• Monitor feedback on relationships and work with partners to evolve services.

• A salary of £59,248 per annum, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.

 What the job involves
We’re looking for a Clinical Services Senior Officer to join our Clinical Services Team on a fixed term role covering maternity leave.

Our Clinical Services team provide direct information and support to anyone affected by prostate cancer or prostate problems. This includes our Specialist Nurse team, who run a service available over telephone, email, WhatsApp and Live Chat. We also have a Risk Information Service providing information to undiagnosed men concerned about their risk of prostate cancer.

As a Clinical Services Senior Officer, you’ll play an integral role in running these services, making sure everything’s efficient and accessible to the people who need us. We receive around 15,000 contacts every year, and you’ll help make sure they get the best possible experience.

Managing the day-to-day delivery of the service means organising rotas, planning resources and making sure everything runs smoothly. You’ll line manage our Risk Information Officer and support the growth of our Risk Information Service too.

You’ll also take responsibility for reporting and analysing service data, identifying trends and working with the Head of Support Services to shape improvements. Clinical governance will be a key part of the role, making sure our services remain safe, high quality and in line with the right policies. You’ll also keep our clinical policies and processes up to date, manage GDPR compliance, and act as a key contact for the team, both within the charity and with external partners.

Alongside this, you’ll help promote our services by contributing to promotional plans, social media activity and website updates, making sure more people know we’re here to support them.

It’s a varied and rewarding role where you’ll be helping to shape and improve the support we offer every day.

What we want from you
Good communication is at the heart of this role. You’ll be comfortable using a range of channels and able to build positive working relationships with a variety of people, from healthcare professionals to external partners. A flexible, collaborative approach and a commitment to delivering excellent service are important too.

You’ll bring experience of managing complex work, keeping on top of data, and turning information into clear, useful reports and recommendations. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities will be key.

You’ll be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal skills and a positive, solutions-focused attitude. You’ll be able to support and guide colleagues, helping them deliver their best work. Experience using and maintaining databases is important, along with a good understanding of data protection. It would also be helpful if you’re familiar with project management tools and ways of working.

Knowledge of prostate cancer care and support, and an understanding of the nursing profession, would be beneficial for this role.

We have three refuges in Bexley, which provide emergency accommodation to women and children fleeing domestic abuse and sexual violence. We are there for women at a time of crisis and help families take their first steps to freedom and recovery.

We exist to end the harm done through gender-based violence. Our aim is to work to prevent violence and abuse, as well as providing services to meet the individual needs of survivors, particularly women and children. Our work is holistic and empowering, working alongside survivors to achieve independent lives, free from abuse.

About the Role

You will provide advice and support to women who have experienced domestic abuse in a refuge setting, across two sites. You will carry out risk and needs assessments, develop support plans and carry out key work with women survivors. You should have a minimum of two years’ experience of working with this or a similar client group. An in depth understanding of the needs of women and children from a diverse background is essential.

As part of both roles, one of the job posts will be located in one refuge, with the other job post located across three refuges.

About You

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support to victims of domestic and sexual violence.

You will have experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of the client group, and the ability to work with women to help them to understand their needs, risk assess, develop safety plan and support them in linking with other agencies.

You will have a working knowledge of the available legal remedies, housing and welfare benefits, as well as experience of providing workshops.

Outside of this, you will have excellent administrative and time management skills and the ability to effectively manage a caseload.

JOB SUMMARY:

 To deputise for IMC UK Director of Finance and work closely with budget holders and counterparts in Split and LA to provide 'real time' support and analysis, that will assist budget holders and IMC UK in decision-making.

Manage the day to day financial activities of International Medical Corps UK with specific focus on financial management, budgeting and corporate financial planning, and ensuring that the finance team is achieving expected deliverables timely and accurately. 

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Planning

1. Active participation in drafting IMC UK annual budget for board of Trustees approval.

2. Monthly Updates of Rolling Forecast of IMC UK corporate costs. As the responsible finance officer train and regularly collaborate with Budget Managers to ensure that corporate forecasts are accurate, relevant and reliable by ensuring that; b), to confirm that:

2.1.  Staff cost projections – work in collaboration with HR team to ensure that IMC UK staff projections include  hire plans, transfer plans, allocation plans, field deployment, terminations, promotions etc.

2.2 HQ Non Labour Cost Projections – monthly review and cost projections should be updated to reflect IMC UK’s latest plans; For example, Travel budgets should be updated if no travel has taken place during the month and not likely to happen in next 2 months. Professional fees - are there valid consultancy agreements in place or is it still in the pipeline and the lag should be built into.

2.3. Provide SFD with latest IMC UK corporate expenditure position with the following details:

 - Movement on IMC UK costs vs IMC costs

 - Breakdown of fixed costs vs variable costs under IMC UK pipeline

 - New positions projected and salary costs allocations;

 - Service fee analysis by departments and seek explanations on movements from HQ teams of IMC UK affiliates;

 - Work with SFD to ensure IMC UK SMT approval on service fees is obtained;

Financial Control

3. Bookkeeping. Ensure that accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank & general ledger modules are maintained timely & accurately. Ensure that the following are available on file:

3.1. Monthly reconciliation of  payroll data,

3.2. Reconciliation of other control accounts including payroll, accruals, prepayment;

4. Internal Control & Regulations.  Ensure that all relevant procedures are maintained in relation  to a) Procurement process, b) Financial procedures & approvals, c) Sanctions checks d) HMRC Tax - Payroll, Dispensation & VAT tax issues and e) Pensions are adhered to.

4.1. Finance manager shall prepare, plan and deliver training to all relevant staff members on IMC UK's financial,  approval  and allocation processes.

4.2. Maintain an exceptions register with incidences where the proper procedures have not been observed.

5. Banking & Cash Projections. To monitor and update the Finance Director on

5.1 IMC UK banking and sanctions compliance requirements are updated and adhered to;

5.2 IMC UK Cash requirements projections are updated on a monthly basis on the last day of the month;

5.3 intercompany settlements are reviewed and undertaken on a timely manner

5.4  Summary of bank charges by IMC UK bankers are monitored  on a regular basis;

6. FOREX.

6.1.  Work with finance team to ensure that funds in other currencies are transferred into IMC UK functional currency – USD on an urgent basis. 

6.2 liaise with IMC UK bankers to offer effective solutions for transfers to sanctioned countries;

7. Payroll. 

7.1 Staff Cost projections.  Proactively work with HR, to provide input on cost implications for new hires; and update IMC UK’s financial projections systems with cost projections on all changes including  salary changes, increment implementation, benefits and deductions, vacation leaves pay, off-boarding of employees, and pension management.

7.2.  Posting monthly payroll costs to the ledgers.

7.3. Regular monthly payroll reconciliation with differences shared with SFD.

8. Pensions.  –

8.1 Effectively manage IMC UK Pensions Plan contributions in collaboration with HR. 

8.2 Ensure  appropriate and timely pensions contributions are made to pension provider. 

9. Public Donations – with collaboration with the Fundraising team, ensure accurate classifications and coding of restricted & unrestricted funds received;  For new appeals request for finance codes from IMC Finance team.

Financial Reporting

10.
