We are currently looking for a Safety and Assurance Officer to join our team.

About the role

The Safety & Assurance Officer (SAO) is an employee of the MSSC and a member of the MSSC National Safety Assurance Team (NSAT). This is a home-based role, with a primary focus on the Southern area, predominantly the South-East. The SAO will report to the Head of Safety, Health, and Environment.

The SAO will work closely with other SAOs and will be functionally accountable to:

The Head of Inshore Boating for inshore boat assurance
The Staff Royal Marines Officer for weapons and ammunition safety and security assurance

The role requires regular travel within the area of responsibility and, on occasion within the UK. It will involve evening and some weekend work to fulfil the role’s responsibilities.

Requirements

Qualifications: Good general education and NEBOSH (or equivalent), with completion required during probation if not already held.
Safety & Environmental Management: Experience implementing safety and environmental management systems, conducting risk assessments, and working within formal assurance frameworks.
Incident Management: Experience managing, investigating, and reporting incidents.
Training & Support: Ability to deliver training, guidance, and support to non-specialist staff or volunteers on safety, health, environmental, and assurance matters.
Workload & Volunteer Management: Proven ability to manage a busy workload and effectively support and manage volunteers.

Responsibilities

Join the Marine Society & Sea Cadets as a Safety and Assurance Officer, ensuring the highest standards of safety, health, environment (SHE), and operational compliance across our units and facilities.
You’ll lead assurance inspections, maintain compliance with legislation and organisational regulations, and support the safe management of weapons, armouries, and inshore boating activities. Working closely with other members of the National Safety and Assurance Team (NSAT) and Area teams, you’ll oversee safety at events, camps, and competitions, conduct audits, and monitor incident reporting.
This role plays a vital part in upholding the safety and welfare of our cadets and volunteers through proactive assurance, training, and continuous improvement.

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes across a number of prisons. To ensure the continuation of our programmes during times of staff absence, we are now seeking to recruit a Prison Facilitator on a bank working basis to work across the west midlands region who is able to travel to cover sites in the wider area too. Working closely with prisons and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will support with the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme in the Central region, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships quickly and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. You will also have a willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice, to provide short or long term cover within the region including possible overnight stays.

This role will be prison-based. This is a bank role and so the number of days to be worked will vary and are not guaranteed. About the role  

It’s an exciting and important time for our charity as we work to help more people out of homelessness and poverty as part of an ambitious strategy. 

The newly created role of Federation Development Lead will sit within the Partnerships and Federation Development directorate, to support the delivery of key charity and federation-wide objectives, as part of our mission to empower people affected by homelessness and poverty to change their lives for the better while using our voice to achieve social change. 

The principal responsibility will be to support our ambition to become a best practice national body, responsible for leading on and supporting the development of key projects within Emmaus UK and the wider federation.

This will include providing leadership to support Emmaus communities across the UK to prepare and respond to the introduction of the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act, you will require an understanding and commitment to best practice and legislative requirements related to the provision of supported housing, with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into user friendly support, training, guidance and policies and procedures

The role will also provide a critical role in the implementation and delivery of Emmaus UK’s ambitious plans to seek registration as a provider of social housing. You will provide the project management and technical skills required to support the successful delivery of the application process, ensuring that risk and regulatory requirements are considered and acted upon at each stage, maintaining strong communication with key stakeholders externally and across the federation.

As the Federation Development Lead, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the growth and development of the Emmaus movement within the UK, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, and supporting the overall success of the federation. Your role will involve supporting the development and delivery of strategic plans, programme design and implementation, stakeholder management, and continuous evaluation and improvement of developed initiatives.

Working with the Director of Partnerships and Federation Development and wider Senior Leadership Team, the role will be central to the delivery of strategic objectives related to the development of the movement.

We are looking for a Sector Development Lead to drive growth and impact in the primary education sector at a pivotal moment for the Leadership Skills Foundation.

 This newly created role comes at an exciting time: we’re expanding our programmes, deepening partnerships, and rolling out a refreshed brand.

As Sector Development Lead, you’ll lead income generation and customer growth in the primary sector. From designing integrated sales and marketing strategies to delivering outreach and events, you’ll champion our offer and act as a trusted sector voice - shaping offers that meet the needs of schools, empower learners, and delight our customers.

We’re seeking someone with experience in sales, sector development, or programme growth, with a proven ability to achieve ambitious targets. You’ll bring creativity and confidence in delivering outreach campaigns across both digital and in-person channels, underpinned by a strong understanding of the UK education system, particularly with insight into the primary sector.

Thriving on building relationships and influencing stakeholders, you’ll use data and insights to inform decisions and adapt approaches. Alongside these skills, you’ll be a collaborative team player and a compelling storyteller, able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery as well as passion for creating meaningful opportunities for young people.

Role purpose:

Drive the growth of the primary education sector, leading on centre acquisition, income generation, and customer experience.

Develop and deliver integrated sales and marketing strategies, including digital lead generation, network development, key segment outreach, and data-led campaign planning.

Act as the sector lead, using insight to shape positioning, monitor market maturity, and influence internal and external strategy for long-term impact.

Key responsibilities:

Planning

Shape and deliver the Primary Sector Development Plan.

Sales & growth delivery

• Drive income and centre growth targets across all relevant programmes.
• Develop tailored acquisition and conversion strategies by segment, including cold outreach, warm lead nurture, events, and campaigns.
• Track and report against sector income targets, centre growth metrics, lead conversions, and ROI using dashboards and data analysis.

Marketing and lead generation

• Design and test sector-wide digital campaigns in collaboration with marketing teams and, where relevant, external agencies.
• Manage audience segmentation, personalised journeys, email marketing, and paid social media campaigns targeting school leaders, MATs, and parents.
• Plan and deliver events related to the Primary sector and represent the organisation externally when required.
• Contribute towards content strategy across case studies, impact stories, webinars, and sector PR/editorial opportunities as required.

Customer Experience (CX) & retention

• Lead on sector-specific centre onboarding, retention strategies, and cross-sell pathways.
• Be responsible for mapping and reviewing the customer journey, reducing friction for customers, and removing internal barriers.
• Develop Customer Experience led comms plans to ensure consistent, high-quality touchpoints that support relationship building and long-term value.

Collaborate across teams and support innovation

• Contribute to team planning meetings, training sessions, and department-wide initiatives.
• Support the induction of new team members and contribute to a collaborative, learning-focused team culture.
• Be an engaged member of the Engagement and Marketing Directorate and carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Head of Business Development. 

 Skills, experience, and knowledge

 Essential 

• Proven experience leading sales, sector development, or programme growth.
• Experience in designing and delivering multi-channel marketing or outreach plans, ideally across digital and in-person formats.
• Demonstrable success in achieving income and acquisition targets within a complex stakeholder environment.
• An understanding of education systems in the UK, particularly the primary sector.
• Experience of working on your own initiative, taking a pro-active approach to your work.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of presentation skills to external stakeholders.
• Experience of data management and analysing insight to inform decision making.
• An ability to network, influence and build relationships with key stakeholders and customers.

Desired

• Experience with campaign management tools and marketing platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp, Google Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager).
• Experience working directly with or selling into primary schools, MATs, or local authorities.
• Strong understanding of the UK primary education landscape, including MATs, independent schools, and local authority priorities.

Role Purpose: Carry out actions in support of the strategy set out in the Business Plan. Key responsibilities include: Strategy and Business Development and to lead the fundraising effort MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Work with the Board of Trustees to develop the overall Business Strategy

· Lead the Fundraising programme, with a target income of £100,000 + per annum new funds

· Manage relationships with other 3rd party organisations operating in adjacent healthcare sectors

· Working with the Clinical Consultant, open 5 new Leg Clubs per annum, maintaining a prospective list of 10-20 potential new launches at any one time

· Work with existing and prospective Leg Clubs to understand the NHS landscape both to facilitate growth and to support existing clubs

· Develop relationships with existing Leg Clubs

· Support the Educational Programme of the Lindsay Leg Club Foundation REPORTING

· Produce a monthly activity report

· Report to Board of Trustees at the Quarterly Board Meetings

PERSON SPECIFICATION

1) Experience of 3rd Sector Charity organisations

GENERAL

This is a Sole Trader position which means that the individual must provide their own laptop/computer, phone etc. Appropriate expenses will be reimbursed. This role description is not exhaustive and the successful candidate may be asked to undertake additional appropriate duties as required.

TRAVEL

The role will require regular travel. The post holder must possess a driver’s license and ensure own vehicle is in good clean good clean working order and suitable for the task. The postholder will be reimbursed travel expenses in accordance with the Foundation’s Expense Policy. ABOUT The Lindsay Leg Club Foundation was established in December 2004 with the main objective of facilitating and managing the co-ordinated growth of the network of the Leg Clubs and to provide the Clubs with any information and support that they may require. The Foundation achieved charitable status in September 2005, Charity Registration Number: 1111259. Individual Clubs are members of the central Foundation and operate according to the Lindsay Leg Club Model. The model is set out in a practical Handbook which details how Clubs can be established. It includes guidelines on the four key elements of the model, procedures, policies and standards.
