Job Purpose
BSR education programme is a key benefit to members and the wider rheumatology community, providing updates on the essentials needed to deliver top-quality care for patients and ensuring professional development opportunities.
This role sits within the Education team who are responsible for delivering BSR’s educational activity. Working alongside the Head of Education, the Events and Education Manager, Event Executive and the Digital Events Manager, you will assist in the planning and delivery of a range of education courses, webinars, bursary schemes and digital learning activities. You will work with the team to support the work of our Education Committee, Trainee Committee and Digital Learning Board.
This is an exciting role for someone looking to get more hands-on experience in planning and executing a variety of educational events and activities and liaising with multiple stakeholders. It is a unique opportunity to be part of the team at the forefront of rheumatology education, making a tangible impact on the professional development of members and the broader rheumatology community.
Main Responsibilties
Event & Course Management
- Lead on course and webinar registration processes, including delegate bookings, communications, data management and reporting, and producing delegate materials.
- Support course logistics including venue sourcing and management, accommodation and travel, catering and AV.
- Support stakeholder management at education courses, including communications with patients, sponsors and event supporters.
- Occasional travel, including attendance and overnight stays at BSR conferences, courses and events.
Systems & Data Management
- Oversee the team’s CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) and registration systems, ensuring data integrity, implementing system enhancements, coordinating stakeholders, and carrying out testing.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate the rheumatology training webinar series, including topic development, speaker management and live delivery.
- Coordinate the education bursary programme, including promotion, application management and financial reconciliation.
- Coordinate CPD accreditation of educational activities.
- Support the delivery of digital sponsorship and educational partnership opportunities.
Marketing & Communications
- Work with the Marketing and Communications team to create digital content to engage target audiences.
General Duties
- Manage events inbox and education team enquiries, delivering excellent customer service.
- Input into education budgets by monitoring progress against income and expenditure for owned projects.
- Support with BSR Committee liaison and logistics.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Head of Education and the Events and Education Manager.

The role is varied and interesting, with a fundraising and donor reporting focus – the post-holder will support the CEO with all fundraising for the charity, including writing Trust and Foundation applications, research on new prospects, and managing donor reporting. In addition, we hold 2-3 major fundraising events each year, and this role would support the CEO in all aspects of event management.

Key Responsibilities:
The charity currently raises c. £750k annually from a variety of sources including individuals, trusts and foundations, corporates and events. The key aspects of this role are:
Trusts and Foundations
- Research and draft Trust and Foundation applications, updating the prospects and pending report, managing pipelines.
- Manage the reporting schedule (with the Programmes Manager).
- Collate data for reports and maintain positive relationships with funders.
Individual Donor Relations:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records on Salesforce and SharePoint.
- Respond to donor enquiries and provide excellent customer service.
- Manage donor communications, including thank you letters and updates.
- Assist with donor stewardship activities to build relationships and encourage continued support.
- Manage the Scholarship Sponsor reporting schedule (with the Programmes Manager).
- Lead on the management and growth of the Friends Scheme, including developing relationships and reporting.
Data Management and Impact Reporting
- Maintain and update the fundraising database (Salesforce), including GDPR and Gift Aid records, processing donations, ensuring compliance with current regulations.

About the role:
The post holder will support Respect’s Head of Finance to deliver an efficient budget holder support service to Respect’s Deputy Director of the Drive Partnership. Building Independence
One of those priorities is their Building Independence portfolio. Building independence prioritises supporting organisations working with young people aged 14 to 25. Too many lack the support, relationships, or safe spaces they need – especially those leaving care, excluded from school, living with a learning disability or navigating life as an LGBTQ+ young person.
The foundation fund work that helps young people to raise aspirations, build confidence and feel equipped for the next stage of life. They also support work that joins up fragmented services and pushes for policies that reflect the real experiences of young people. Through their partners, they want to help young people not just get by but move forward with purpose. They also want to help create the conditions where young people shape the communities and systems around them too
The Role
The role of Grants Manager will work to support the successful delivery of grant within the Building Independence Portfolio. This includes the undertaking of grant application assessment, participation in application decision meetings and undertake visits to meet organisations working in this area. You will support this work by undertaking complimentary policy research, building a deeper sector knowledge to support the development and continuous improvement of the fund.
The Candidate
Successful candidates will come with experience, or understanding, of grant making, particularly with understanding of youth voice and systems change. They’re looking to bring someone in with a good understanding of the principles of good grant making. This includes knowing the terminology and grant making practices.
Candidates will also need to come into the organisation with an understanding of how youth voice can shape work. The foundation want to strengthen organisations that do youth voice work well. Candidates will need to come into this role with an understanding of youth voice and associated language.

The Athlete Learning and Development Manager will design and coordinate a comprehensive learning and development programme for emerging athletes, their parents and caregivers, and alumni. This will be delivered both in person and online.
