Purpose of the Role

This exciting new role is about creating connections, building ecosystems and developing and strengthening relationships that power social justice movements. As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will work closely with the CEO to lead our partnerships and community engagement work — creating the enabling conditions and networks that help youth-led movements grow, sustain, and make lasting change.

You will take lead on:

• Partnering with other funders to resource youth-led change, including co-designed and co-held programmes with other foundations.
• Developing community partnerships based on the needs and priorities of the young people we are here to serve - including charities, local businesses, and local authorities.
• Understanding the landscape of youth-led change and social justice work, identifying gaps in support and guiding our investment to help fill them, both at the national and local level.
• Monitoring and communicating the impact of our work with external audiences.
• Ensuring our work is grounded in safeguarding practices that minimise harm and uphold our commitment to care, equity and justice.

Job Title: Support Mentor (Nights)

Location: Latimer Road, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) - Short walking distance from Latimer Road underground station (Circle and Hammersmith and City Lines)

Salary: £27,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a 6 week rolling rota which includes at least one day shift per week, weekends, and bank holidays. Hours can vary between 21:00 - 09:00 and 11:00 - 20:00

About the role

Our residents in this service have experienced long-term street homelessness and have faced significant challenges including with their mental health, substance use, and alcohol dependency, and struggled to sustain engagement with support services. That's why they're here, to make a change and gain the support they need to enable greater independence and recovery.

As a Support Mentor, you will work within a 24 hour service which provides person centred support to our residents, you will work to ensure safety and wellbeing of our residents. You will support mainly the night shifts to ensure the service runs smoothly at night, being a point of contact for residents, engaging with them to ensure their safety comes first, and running various evening activities for engagement. You will build trusting and professional relationships with residents, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations which could be through one to one sessions, group sessions, and general wellbeing check ins. During quieter hours, you will be responsible for ensuring administration is up to date, the service is kept clean and tidy, and will support with additional ad hoc tasks. 

About you

We're looking for someone who has a true passion for what we do as an organisation, and particularly in supporting those who have faced homelessness and may have other complex needs. Our residents needs are at the forefront of service delivery, so someone who can build trusting professional relationships is key. You will be adaptable, proactive, and able to use your initiative to resolve challenges, and keep the night service running smoothly. You will be able to work within a team, and have previous knowledge of the needs our residents may have. Each support plan is tailored to the individual, putting their needs first for the team to be able to deliver support to their needs. What are we looking for:

• Understanding of the needs of those who have faced homelessness and have various complex needs including mental health, substance use, and alcohol dependency
• Ability to use IT systems to record case notes, email relevant people, and use other software required within the role

Role Purpose

The Role will be responsible for the entry and review of financial transactions from various sources including purchase invoices, payment cards and bank transactions. 

The organisation has grown from managing 8 entities three years ago to 22 at present. We have 41 accounts across 5 different banking institutions (in both USD and GBP) and multiple credit/debit cards. You will need to be adaptable with an open mindset and able to work with uncertainty and change.

We have recently implemented new accounting software (Iplicit) to better manage the multiple entities in our portfolio.  This role will act as a key part of the finance function now the new system is live.

Responsibilities

Initial Duties: 

• Processing urgent same day rent payments 

• Processing of purchase ledger transactions (including VAT entries) for 22 legal entities, in multi-currency, ensuring accurate re-allocation to other entities where appropriate

• Preparation of supplier payment runs for approval

• Completing bank statement imports and reconciliations

• Responding to internal and external queries regarding purchase transactions and payments 

• Other administration & support as required by our Central team (including People, Digital, Business Development & Impact) 

• Review and processing of employee expense transactions 

• Creating regular Inter-company recharge invoices for batches of transactions

Skills & Experience

Essential Skills & Experience 

• Practical experience in a similar role processing a range of financial entries 

• AAT Level 3 Certificate in Accounting or similar

• An understanding of the fundamentals of VAT

• Attention to detail and with ability to question existing processes

• Confident and financially literate, with clear communication and good organisation skills 

• Able to manage priorities and work effectively in a remote working setting

The Waltham Forest SASS team provides advocacy and support to survivors of domestic abuse living in Waltham Forest. An exciting opportunity has arisen in this busy team for a Senior IDVA.

About the Role

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Senior Housing IDVA for Solace co-located in Waltham Forest Housing Department. As the Senior Housing IDVA you will provide immediate support for victim/survivors of abuse attending housing including carrying out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and providing short-term support and onward referral. In addition, you will act as the housing lead for Solace in Waltham Forest, providing advice and guidance to Solace staff and Waltham Forest housing professionals.

The Senior Housing IDVA will also hold line management responsibility. The Senior Housing IDVA will hold a caseload of cases with complex housing issues for short-term support.

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with external agencies in your work.

About You

We are seeking highly organised, self-driven individuals who are passionate about ending violence against women and girls (VAWG) and homelessness. Applicants should have a proactive attitude and a strong commitment to Solace’s feminist approach in supporting women and their children toward safety. Training and support will be provided as needed for this role.

We are seeking candidates with a deep understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience providing both emotional and practical support to survivors of violence against women and girls (VAWG). A thorough knowledge of housing options and associated legislation is essential. Candidates should hold a relevant qualification in VAWG or be willing to undertake accredited training. The role of Parks Volunteer Programme coordinator in the Enable Parks team will allow you to demonstrate your skills working with stakeholders and local communities to deliver park improvements, habitat management tasks and one-off volunteering opportunities. You would develop these and other spaces, such as a Sunday afternoon Bubble Church, and build upon our relationships with local schools where we run Messy Church and have mentors supporting children.

About us

Parallel is a small but ambitious charitable initiative doing big things: we currently support over 3,000 students through our maths enrichment activities, around 500 of whom receive dedicated weekly, small-group online tutorials in The Parallel Academy. Our mission is to support students on our programmes to fulfil their mathematical potential, by providing them with the opportunity to develop their reasoning and problem-solving skills beyond the curriculum. 

Our students are motivated and ambitious. Although our maths programme is optional and takes place outside of school hours, students have an average attendance above 95%.

 

The Role

We are rapidly expanding our service provision over the coming months, and are seeking a full or part-time Project Administrator to join our passionate and energetic team. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of our programmes and help embed the tools and processes for reaching thousands more students each year.

This is a versatile role with responsibilities ranging from database management to setting up online events and communicating with service users, schools and tutoring staff. Working within a small administration team, you will be proficient at using a range of tools such as spreadsheets, meeting platforms and scheduling software, and will be willing to learn new ways of working. We are looking for someone who can remain focused under pressure, using their initiative to deal proactively with a range of tasks and to prioritise the competing demands of a busy workload. 

Hours

This is a flexible and fully remote role, and you will have significant autonomy in how you structure your working week. 

As part of your contracted hours, you will be required to work some evenings and weekends, but this will not exceed one day a week in total. There will also be periods when there is a higher workload (e.g., during student recruitment periods), so you may be required to offer some flexibility in working longer (and then shorter) hours week to week. Key duties and responsibilities 

• Develop and maintain accurate, up-to-date spreadsheets relating to student rosters and learning data.

• Adopt data hygiene principles so that data is managed smartly, in accordance with our data privacy policy.

• Lead on event creation, which primarily concerns the hundreds of weekly tutorials we run each week, but also extends to other activities such as student admissions, end of term testing and public webinars.

• Help to manage a high-volume inbox, responding to daily emails and triaging across the team by assigning correct levels of priority to each correspondence.

• Support the onboarding of new tutors (e.g. overseeing DBS checks, approving invoices) and take the lead on finding cover when gaps appear in our tutoring schedule.

• Liaise with prospective schools and students and undertake key data gathering activities to identify the most suitable candidates for our programmes.

• Support in developing and updating key policies and procedures. 

• Support with general administrative tasks.

Skills

Overview of the Team  

The Corporate Services team provides essential strategic and operational support across the organisation. Our governance function oversees compliance, risk management, and performance frameworks.
