ACCT UK launched its new name and brand in 2021 and we are now seeking a highly motivated Marketing Manager to continue the delivery of our engagement programme. We are looking for you to bring enthusiasm, personal credibility, discretion and sensitivity in promoting the charity to its beneficiaries and a wide range of stakeholder groups.

As ACCT UK’s Marketing Manager, you will be key to helping the wider community to understand our charity and how it is distinct from the Army Cadets, a youth organisation we are closely linked to.

This is a rewarding and flexible role. The position is a permanent full time post (40 hours per week) which can be either home or office based. The successful applicant will be required to travel occasionally.  The full time starting annual salary for this post is £34,190.73.

ACCT UK is a national youth charity dedicated to improving the life chances of young people. We want to develop the youth leadership and training abilities of adult volunteers in the Army Cadets.

Working alongside our strategic partner, the British Army, we help young people to access cadet activity with the Army Cadets through a range of activities including fundraising, grant making, developing new resources and direct support to the Army Cadets.

They will play a key role in helping to develop new services and where appropriate will take operational control of these.

About the Role

The Head of Service post holder will take the lead responsibility (under Ofsted registration) as the Adoption Manager of Coram IAC. They will ensure the ongoing delivery of an outstanding VAA that is fully compliant with national minimum standards and regulations; and ensuring high quality adoption support and a sufficient supply of adopters that reflects the diversity of the countries they are adopting from.

Applying to adopt in the UK is open to anyone already in the process with Coram IAC but we do not actively recruit domestic adopters like other VAAs. Approved Intercountry Adopters may however request to change their approval advice to the UK if they are considered a suitable match for children available and waiting for permanence through Adoption in the UK.

You will be in a specialist role designed to work with people with complex support needs relating to: mental ill health, physical health & substance use needs. You will also play a key part in reducing the risk of re-offending, liaising with external professionals, preventing homelessness and promoting the independence and social inclusion of these clients.

The working rota for this post is Monday - Friday. (no weekend shifts) and a mixture of earlies (8am - 3.30pm) & lates (3pm - 10.30pm)

We’re working to deliver a five-year strategy with growth at its heart and we’re looking for an exceptional person to join our team as Head of Service Delivery and Volunteering, to be a vital part of this exciting phase of our development.

Reporting to the CEO and sitting within the senior management team, you will lead a team that brings older people and volunteers into our organisation.   Making full use of technology and building strong relationships with our volunteers, you’ll deliver volunteer-led services that help make life less lonely for thousands of older people each year.   

Key responsibilities

Leadership 

• Create a high performing team culture that’s ambitious and passionate about Re-engages vision for older people. 
• Contribute to the organisation’s strategic direction and play an active role in operational and budget planning for both the charity as a whole and the Service Delivery department.
• Identify opportunities to develop new ways to use technology to improve our systems, develop new services and enhance customer service.

Operational Delivery 

• Oversee and manage operations to provide a seamless service to volunteers and older people throughout their time with Re-engage from recruitment to departure.
• Create a culture of continuous improvement, using data and stakeholder feedback to shape our services and the support offered. 
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and lead contact for safeguarding for the board of trustees.  Ensure that safeguarding is at the heart of our work, implementing robust safeguarding principles and practices. 
• Harness technology to create high quality, efficient, consistent, person-centred experiences for older people and volunteers. 
• Ensure volunteers receive appropriate, interactive and engaging volunteer training. 
• Work with Engagement and Fundraising teams to ensure delivery of commitments to funders, setting appropriate targets for team members.
• Work with the Communications and Impact teams to develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer communication strategy, based on what volunteers want and need from Re-engage to support their volunteering.
• Work with colleagues to ensure the experience of our volunteers and older people is measured and monitored.

About you

Essential

• Experience of developing, supporting and managing volunteer led, sustainable services. 
• Passionate about, and experienced in, working across all aspects of volunteer management. 
• Understanding of safeguarding vulnerable people with proven competence of managing safeguarding systems and processes, confidentiality, and the implications of GDPR when working with volunteers and older people.
• Strong project management and data analysis capabilities. 
• Experienced in working with CRMs, automated systems, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Dynamics or equivalent systems.
• Highly motivated and engaging leader with strong people management skills. 
• Energised by change and a commitment to continuous improvement. 
• Skilled communicator and an experienced influencer. 
• This role will require an enhanced criminal record check.

Desirable

Full driving licence and own car preferred, as this post will require travel across the UK as and when required, and quarterly overnight stays.

Background /Summary:

In2scienceUK’s aim is to promote social mobility and diversity in science, technology, engineering and maths. We do this by leveraging the skills and passion of researchers and STEM professionals to support young people (16+) from low socio-economic backgrounds to achieve their potential and progress to degrees and careers in STEM.

The successful applicant will be joining In2scienceUK at an exciting point in its mission having recently launched a number of new initiatives, both in-person and online, to support young people build the skills, knowledge and confidence to build successful careers in STEM.

Role Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Safeguarding Manager to join our growing team and own our safeguarding processes end to end. This is a crucial role to ensure the safety of the young people we work with and that In2scienceUK provides a safe environment for all.

This role is part time and contract based and would be ideal for someone who has significant experience of safeguarding and child protection law, as well as experience

in carrying out safeguarding audits, implementing safeguarding processes for both in person and online offers, as well as internal and external safeguarding training.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review and audit existing safeguarding practices and procedures throughout the organisation.

• Manage and deliver a plan to improve practices and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and guidance.

• Produce safeguarding policies, codes of conduct, and any other documentation needed to meet our commitment to safeguarding.

• Design and deliver effective in-person and online safeguarding training and guidance for trustees, staff, volunteers, partners and beneficiaries.

• Provide safeguarding support and guidance for our volunteers and partners, particularly concerning work experience placements and mentoring.

• Manage safeguarding concerns and disclosures as they arise, and escalate concerns in line with our safeguarding policies including making external referrals. 

• Ensure that our safeguarding records and processes are in compliance with Child Protection Law and GDPR regarding the processing of data and acting as a data controller.

• Responsible for fostering a culture of ‘safeguarding first’ across the organisation and with our volunteers, ensuring that our activities are designed with safeguarding embedded. 

• Stay up to date with all legislation and guidance on Safeguarding, child protection and protecting Adults at Risk within locations In2scienceUK operates and provides a single point of contact for this support - currently England, Wales and Scotland with ambition for future expansion.

• Support with the development of any policy, guidance and practice that relates to safeguarding our stakeholders, e.g. the legal status of work experience hosts, health and safety, DBS checks.

Knowledge and Experience:

Essential:

• Level 4 safeguarding accreditation.

• Strong existing knowledge of safeguarding and child protection laws in England, Wales and Scotland.

• Experience of implementing safeguarding processes to online, in-person and residential programme delivery designed for young people 16+.

• Experience of designing and delivering relevant training appropriately tailored to different audiences.

• Experience of working across departments and with trustees to produce appropriate processes and policies.

• Experience of dealing with being the first point of contact for complex cases for both children and adults at risk and making necessary referrals.

• Existing knowledge of Data Protection and how it applies to Safeguarding.

Desirable:

• Previous experience working with work placement and/or mentoring programmes and legal requirements for carrying these out.

• Previous wellbeing, counselling or similar training.

• Mental Health First Aid training
