WE ARE LOOKING FOR A PROGRAMME LEAD (AYLA)

The National Society for Education (NSE) is both an NCI and a Royal-charter charity. It's aims are to support Church schools and the wider education sector by developing leaders, shaping policy and growing faith.

The NSE leads the Church of England's national work in education in partnership with 41 Diocesan Boards of Education and approximately 4,700 Church of England schools. We also support the national education work of the Church in Wales, which includes around 150 schools. Our presence extends to work with community schools and academy trusts, as well as higher and further education through numerous chaplaincies, providing spiritual support and guidance to children and young people, and to adults.

The Church of England's Vision and Strategy for the 2020s has three priorities, one of which is to be a church which is younger and more diverse. As part of this, the House of Bishops want to ensure that a flourishing child, youth and families ministry is within reach of every young person in England.

The NSE is working with the Vision and Strategy team to help deliver this vision through a range of projects in our 'growing faith' pillar which focus on the intersection between church, home and school; aiming to develop the faith life of children and young people, whilst also growing young leaders.

We are a dynamic team, working remotely from our homes around the country. We gather regularly online and also have in-person team days through the year.

What you'll be doing

The purpose of this role is to design, develop and implement the Archbishops' Young Leaders Award (AYLA). The AYLA is an existing programme that is offered across all key stages 1 to 4 to participating schools. The Award is completed by pupils and learners across England and Wales and is aimed at developing their leadership skills. The role is expected to lead and manage the effective delivery of this programme including design, quality assurance, engagement of strategic stakeholders and support the financial sustainability of the programme.

About the Role

The role of Database Officer sits in the Data, Evidence and Monitoring team, at the junction of frontline services, fundraising and the leadership team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of In-Form, our case management system for frontline services. In-Form represents a key data asset for the organisation so we are looking for someone who is responsible, conscientious and able to provide excellent customer service to other stakeholders who rely on In-Form. A strong interest in information management and databases is also essential for this role.

We would like to manage aspects of the development of In-Form in-house with limited recourse to the technical support team at In-Form. We recognise that this involves technical skills and will provide relevant on-the-job training to the successful candidate. About the role

The Lab is now working with Demos, a leading cross-party think tank and the Lloyds Bank Foundation on a collaborative project to celebrate community-led change across the country. The project will seek: (1) to connect an array of brilliant organisations creating new forms of public services and (2) write a narrative that puts this community-led innovation at the centre of broader efforts at rethinking how the state delivers for its citizens. The project will work with leaders across civil society, academia and the highest levels of politics to demonstrate the potential for community-led change to generate national renewal.

We are seeking a motivated individual to take on the role of Project Network Coordinator. They will report to the Director of the UCL Policy Lab and work closely with the team. The post is fixed term for the duration of nine months either full or part time with the possibility to be extended.

The post holder will be expected to work both at UCL but also on ad hoc occasions from the offices of our partner organisation, Demos.

About you

The UCL Policy Lab wishes to appoint a Project Network Coordinator to help draw together representatives of a vast array of community-based organisations currently innovating in public service reform. The Coordinator will support the project team to develop a core coalition to drive forward the work. The individual will work closely with both the UCL Policy Lab team, Demos and other project partners in the oversight and delivery of events that bring these organisations together so that they can share their experiences and expertise. Duties and responsibilities

• Work with Lab leadership to recruit members for a new network of community-led public service innovators from across the UK
• Support Lab and Demos leaders engagement with senior stakeholders in the national government and the opposition, as well as the local movement, to help share findings and drive political impact.
• Build relationships with the key individuals in this sector to understand their contributions and concerns and be able to share them with others
• Assist with the delivery of engaging collaborative workshops for members of this network and the project team.
• Conduct interviews with network members and draft policy briefs and memos for circulation to the broader network and the policy team.
• Track and report impact from the network for internal purposes, marketing and various evaluation processes (e.g., writing website content, newsletters and contributing to final reports)
• Work with the UCL Policy Lab team to help deliver operational support for the activities of the project, including: contributing to shared infrastructure and tools; working with the Communications and Engagement manager to deliver wider impact; working with the Team to co-ordinate delivering of world class policy events, including our party conference programme.

The IT systems and infrastructure transition lead will lead on the implementation of the key strands of the recently completed strategic review of IT services at Fulham Palace. The strategy and its outputs are part funded by external grant making organisations.

Youth Participation Officer

Fitzrovia Youth in Action is looking for an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic person for our Youth Participation Officer role. If you feel like this is you, we would love to hear from you!

The post holder will manage and develop youth-led community projects in which young people develop their leadership and employability skills through becoming actively involved in their community and participating in self-directed community action. The successful candidate will oversee the development and delivery of several youth-led community projects, primarily the organisation of youth-led community events, but might also include elements of other youth-led activities, such as youth action team, health champions and ambassadors. 

For example, typically, this would involve working with groups of around 10 young people in each cohort and support them to deliver their community event project over a 12-week period.  Examples of events include youth-led football tournaments, street parties and our community Christmas dinner. • Support the greeting and receiving of AKF (UK) guests at AKC

• Book meeting rooms at AKC for colleagues and external partners and arrange catering as required

• Support AKF(UK) events, facilitate and support hosting of meetings and events for partners, including travel, visas, accommodation, and catering; this may require some out of office duties

• Manage the meeting schedule for All Staff Meetings and ensure that colleagues are confirmed for the presentation slots

HR, Health, safety & security administration (40%)

• Maintain a detailed contact list for all AKF (UK) employees and keep it up to date

• Keep the AKF (UK) Emergency WhatsApp group up to date and share emergency messages as required

• Support recruitment processes by placing job adverts internally and externally as directed by the Head of HR

• Preparing and sending out offer letters and contracts as directed by the Head of HR

• Support the onboarding process including sending reference requests and background check requests

• Arrange induction and logistical arrangements for new employees including setting up phone, email, mobile, laptop, etc and purchasing new equipment as necessary

• Add new members to benefit schemes such as the private healthcare plan as directed by the Head of HR • Arrange leaving process for AKF (UK) employees and ensure all equipment is returned

• Draft responses to reference requests

• Support the Head of HR with the administration of the HR Management System (MyAKF) including updating it for joiners and leavers

• Troubleshoot any issues or problems with the MyAKF HR system, working with the MyAKF helpdesk

• Provide MyAKF system training to new starters.

• Draft visa sponsorship letters for all AKF (UK) employees and submit for approval and signature

• Provide Visa invitation letters to visiting delegates/employees.

• Coordinate with our travel insurance providers to arrange additional coverage for employee travel where required.

• Maintaining our training systems including allocating courses, adding new hires and removing leavers and running reports as required

• Support the Head of HR to ensure that employee health and safety and workstation tests are up to date

• Act as a Health and Safety Officer and Fire Marshal for AKF (UK)

• Act as a AKF (UK) First Aider including obtaining annual certification

• Create and cultivate an office culture that contributes to the happiness and well-being of all employees, including arranging birthday celebrations, celebrating unit milestones, arranging quarterly and year-end activities, and creating a space and place employees enjoy working in and feel positive about

Finance administration (5%)

• Assist the finance officers with the company credit card processes

• Scan and file bank statements

• Scan and file purchase invoices

IT administration (5%)

• Liaise with internal IT support as necessary to trouble-shoot issues and order equipment

• Work with IT services to ensure that all software is updated and maintained on individual’s computers and hardware on a regular basis (e.g. regular back up of all system software and protocols, including latest updates of virus software)

Other

• Cover the PA to the CEO and Office Administrator’s workload during periods of sickness or annual leave 

• Undertake tour guide training so that visiting delegates and VIPs can be shown around the Aga Khan Centre and its internal Islamic gardens and courtyards.

• Carry out any other duties as assigned by the PA to the CEO and Office Administrator, Head of HR, Head of Finance and Operations, or the CEO.

Qualifications

• Educated to A-Levels desirable

• Highly organised with strong logistical skills and proven consistent attention to detail

• Strong interpersonal skills, tact, patience and ability to work in a cross-institutional, multicultural environment dealing with senior and high-level officials/persons and VIPs

• Excellent written communication and presentation skills and ability to draft and write effective copy and present to a range of audiences from senior-level to partners and suppliers

• Comfortable working independently and under minimal supervision but also forming an essential component of a team

• Strong operational and IT skills as well as an openness to learning new software and tools

Knowledge

Experience in the health charity sector, public/patient engagement work, and working on the National Institute of Health Care Excellence (NICE) and Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) consultation processes would be beneficial but not essential.

As Senior Policy Officer you will be part of the Patient Advocacy team who work to ensure that the patient voice is heard and acted upon by UK and devolved nations healthcare policy decision makers. You will represent the charity externally including national meetings with senior healthcare decision makers.

Your role is vital to developing strategic approaches to health technology appraisals (HTA), regulatory pathways (MHRA), clinical development programmes (academic and industry clinical trials) and commissioning routes to broaden access to new myeloma drug therapies and diagnostic technologies.

You will apply your skills flexibly across key policy areas including access to treatment, patient voice, stakeholder engagement and general healthcare policy and work with colleagues in communications and fundraising to make sure our supporters and the wider myeloma community understand the positive impact we make.
