The Role

We are looking for a proactive, compassionate, and creative Communications Officer to lead on our external and internal communications.

You will help strengthen our voice and build trust with our community, partners, and the wider public by telling our stories.

In this role, you’ll manage our social media channels, creating content and developing campaigns. You'll oversee our website and digital presence. You will work with the staff team and community members to produce accessible resources. You will support events that bring communities and stakeholders together.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the charity’s communications strategy, with the key aims of being professional and approachable. This will include social media, newsletters, website content, and printed materials.
• Work with clients and staff to gather evidence to share with key stakeholders, including case studies.
• Develop culturally sensitive, accessible, and inclusive communications that reflect the values and experiences of Gypsy and Traveller communities.
• Work with the team to raise awareness of issues affecting our community through campaigns, events, and partnerships.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, partner organisations, and stakeholders.
• Support the planning and promotion of events, both online and in-person.
• Monitor and evaluate engagement across platforms, using insights to refine and improve communications activity.

The Suzy Lamplugh Trust was born out of the tragic story of Suzy Lamplugh, a 25-year-old estate agent who went missing whilst at work in 1986, was never found, and was eventually declared deceased in 1993. The Trust was set up in Suzy’s name and continues to be a pioneer in reducing the risk and prevalence of abuse, aggression and violence - with a specific focus on stalking and harassment – through education, campaigning and support.

We are an organisation that has: 

• been responsible for training over one million lone and frontline workers across all sectors in personal safety; 

• campaigned heavily and played a pivotal role in driving changes in the law to better protect people across the UK; and 

• supported over 75,000 victims and survivors of stalking since the inception of our National Stalking Helpline and stalking advocacy service. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Support the delivery and evaluation of national campaigns on workplace safety as well as stalking, harassment and other priority areas.

• Maintain effective relationships with civil servants, policy makers, national and local decision makers, and other campaigning bodies and build relevant networks of stakeholders.

• Proactively keep abreast of issues within the post-holder’s own portfolio, general criminal justice, personal safety and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) policy developments and up to date campaigning techniques.

• To undertake or commission research on specific policy areas as required.

• Develop policy recommendations, write policy and campaigns reports, lobby government and other decision makers and stakeholders, and respond on behalf of Suzy Lamplugh Trust to government enquiries, consultations or other relevant initiatives. 

ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Policy and Campaigns Officer is responsible for supporting on Suzy Lamplugh Trust’s policy and campaigning work relating to reducing harassment, violence and aggression in society by addressing these issues at their root cause, working with employers to improve personal safety culture within organisations and seeking to influence policy and legislative change where necessary. This role will also support campaigns that ensure that victims of stalking receive better support and protection.

The Role

As an Arboricultural Officer, you will survey and record all aspects of the tree stock to protect the natural landscape and maintain a safe environment for our visitors.

About You

• An understanding of nature conservation issues, SSSI status and protected species legislation relating to Arboriculture and trees
• Excellent identification ability of a wide range of amenity trees
• Excellent knowledge in the identification and prognosis of a wide range of pest and diseases and fungal fruit bodies
• To hold, or be willing to work towards, an Arboricultural Association Professional Tree Inspection Certificate
• A NVQ Level Three (NQF Level IV) qualification in Arboriculture (or equivalent)

We are seeking a  committed and creative Outreach and Communications Officer who will be responsible for sharing our knowledge and expertise as widely as possible.

About The Role

The Unity Project (TUP) supports people who are facing poverty and homelessness because their immigration status allows them ‘no recourse to public funds’ (NRPF).  We believe NRPF should not exist and we are working to end it. Until then, we seek to minimise its impact by supporting people to make the ‘change of conditions’ (CoC) application to access public funds. However, as the number of people living under NRPF continues to grow, we know we will never be able to meet the need for CoCs. Ensuring that our knowledge and experience is shared - with advisors, support services, community groups and individuals who could make applications themselves - is vital. Raising awareness of our work also supports our income diversification strategy by building corporate partnerships and individual donations.

In this role, you will be leading The Unity Project’s outreach and communications work in order to increase awareness of the Change of Conditions process and the support The Unity Project can offer to individuals and organisations.  Your first priorities will include mapping CoC provision across the country; working with the Director to design and implement a communications strategy to engage applicants, advice organisations, corporate partners and donors; and creating a suite of CoC resources to share online. As you develop in the role, you will deliver outreach and information sessions online and in the community. Mind in Croydon is seeking to recruit a full time Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA)  to join our small, dedicated team of Independent Mental Health Advocates working to provide advocacy services to adults subjected to detention under the Mental Health Act in the London Borough of Croydon to ensure they understand, express and exercise their rights, and to enable them to access essential services. The advocacy team also provides Community Mental Health Advocacy for people who are informal patients in psychiatric hospital or living in the community and provides weekly advocacy service at two InMind Healthcare Group hospitals in Croydon.

This role is suitable for a fully qualified Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA) with a proven ability to support people under the Mental Health Act. We are not considering trainee positions at this time.

In December 2024 the team was awarded the Quality Performance Mark in Advocacy, a testament to their quality of service providing safe and life-changing support.

While much of our work is government-funded, our Fundraising Team raises around £2.5 million per year from charitable sources. Your Role Research, identify, and approach potential grant funders, while maintaining and growing relationships with existing supporters. Develop compelling cases for support, budgets, and progress reports, working closely with project leads and service users. About the role

The People and Wellbeing Officer plays a key role in supporting a positive, inclusive, and healthy workplace culture at Change Mental Health. The role combines operational HR
responsibilities with a proactive focus on wellbeing, engagement, and inclusion.

Working as part of a small, collaborative People and Culture Team, you will provide practical HR advice and support to managers and staff, lead on wellbeing and engagement activities, and help ensure our people policies and practices reflect our values and commitment to fairness and inclusion.

As the People and Wellbeing Officer, you will work with a large amount of autonomy and should be confident in being able to multitask, balance competing priorities, and have an
excellent eye for detail. You will develop innovative ideas and solutions to streamline and improve operational processes and be responsible for providing an efficient and effective HR
operational service across the Charity so that our staff can learn, develop, and grow in an environment that works for them.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational HR

• Provide first-line advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation
• Support employee relations casework, including absence management, performance, disciplinary, and grievance processes
• Lead on the coordination of recruitment, onboarding, and induction to ensure a positive staff experience
• Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with data protection and governance standards
• Contribute to the review and continuous improvement of HR policies and processes.

Wellbeing, Culture, and Inclusion

• Champion wellbeing and inclusion across the organisation through proactive communication, campaigns, and events
• Support the delivery of the charity’s People and Culture Strategy, embedding wellbeing and engagement into everyday practice
• Lead on employee wellbeing activities such as staff surveys, wellbeing days, and awareness campaigns
• Support the People and Culture Manager in developing and monitoring staff engagement initiatives and feedback mechanisms

Organisational Development

• Support leading and development coordination, tracking participation, and evaluating impact
• Contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion (EDI) action plans and reporting

Essential Criteria:

• CIPD Level 3 or above (or working towards Level 5) or equivalent professional experience
• Proven experience in a HR or people-focused role with knowledge of HR best practice and employment legislation
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport across all levels
• Experience in supporting employee relations casework
• Demonstrated commitment to wellbeing, inclusion, and equity in the workplace
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Skilled IT user with experience in HR systems and Microsoft Office.

• Experience in wellbeing or engagement programme coordination
• Experience in a charity, public, or values-led organisation
• Awareness and empathy towards mental health issues

This role will be a key part of our Philanthropy team, working on securing funding from charitable trusts and foundations with the capacity to give up to £30,000. The Philanthropy team is highly regarded, consistently bringing in over half of our organisation's total voluntary income.

You'll research, identify and drive forward new income opportunities, maintain relationships with existing donors and ensure our supporters have an excellent experience through giving to us. You'll deliver high quality, written applications and reports to trusts and foundations, in line with funder deadlines and keep in touch with donors and prospects via phone, virtually and in face-to-face meetings and visits.

You will lead on third-party/designated fundraising events and ensure all activities are within budget and meet key performance indicators.

• Develop and deliver a community and events fundraising programme to maximise supporter relationships and fundraising opportunities.
