About the role:

The British Museum is embarking on one of the most significant cultural redevelopment projects undertaken anywhere in the world. The Masterplan will transform the Museum for the 21st century while staying open, maintaining the founding commitment to keep the collection safe and accessible to the public for generations to come.

The Philanthropy Team, as a key function of Development, will play a vital role in enabling the Museum's vision for the future. The Philanthropy Officer: Grants role will be responsible for managing relationships with and securing income from primarily trusts and foundations in support of the Museum's agreed priorities.

Key areas of responsibility:

• To raise funds for Museum priorities in line with agreed annual income targets, managing your own prospect pipeline, with mentoring and support from the Philanthropy Manager.
• To adhere to a calendar of both new applications and reporting requirements for secured funding.
• To manage or contribute to production of both interim and final reports for funders, establishing a system with project managers internally to ensure that the data required is captured throughout and submitted in time for deadlines, and to ensure the highest standards of reporting are adhered to.
• To work with the Advancement Operations Team to ensure records on the Museum's database are accurate and up to date.
• To contribute to Museum events and their use as an effective cultivation tool.

About you:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a trust fundraising role
• Knowledge of trust and statutory fundraising requirements and practice
• IT literate with good working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office packages and experience using fundraising databases
• Strong writing skills with the ability to create and articulate a convincing fundraising case.
• A team player with strong organisational skills
• Experience in an arts, culture or heritage organization is desirable

We are looking for a newly qualified solicitor or someone in the process of qualifying as a solicitor to join our Public Law team. This is a full-time role for a fixed term period of 12 months. You will be assisting one of the partners based in the Bristol office. You do not have to be based in Bristol and can be based in our London office but should be willing to travel to the Bristol office.

The role will be to assist in immigration, nationality, asylum- founded public law challenges. These include:

• appeal and review proceedings in the Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC) including an ongoing §40 BNA deprivation appeal.
• judicial review claims: unlawful immigration detention which requires understanding of deportation under the Immigration Act 1971 and UK Borders Act 2007 including of those with EUSS leave; trafficking public order disqualification claims; other immigration-related judicial reviews requiring understanding/knowledge of the workings of the Refugee Convention; ECHR; ECAT; legislation: BNA 1948 and 1981; Immigration Acts 1971, 2014 and 2016; NIAA 2002; UKBA 2007; NABA 2002; IMA 2023;  immigration rules and guidance, including the test for further submissions under paragraph 353
• compensation claims: false imprisonment claims in the County Court which requires knowledge of immigration enforcement law and practice under legislation, Government policy and common law; historic discrimination claims arising from dated discriminatory nationality laws; and Windrush claims.

Applicants must have an understanding of the judicial review process under Part 54 CPR, including in the Upper Tribunal; familiarity with wider CPR and practice directions for the County Court or KBD claims; and SIAC rules.

We are seeking a Governance Support officer

The Church of England is continually striving to improve its safeguarding practices. The 2020 report by IICSA on the Church highlighted failures in respect of child sexual abuse and, more broadly, the challenges facing the Church to get safeguarding right.

The Church's aspiration is that safeguarding is not experienced and approached as a matter of administrative compliance. Rather, it should be what the Church is - something that flows from its core beliefs and values, part of its DNA.

The Church has made important and positive strides over recent years. There is, however, still much to be done to keep children and vulnerable adults safe, and to promote their well-being. The Church is a complex collection of different bodies. Most of the safeguarding work is carried out locally within the 42 dioceses and cathedrals in England. This work is supported centrally by a National Safeguarding Team (NST).

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support NSP meetings and events, including agenda-setting, minutes, and follow-up actions.
• Manage financial processes (e.g., invoices, honoraria), budget administration, and supplier setup.
• Develop and maintain systems for data, decision-tracking, and confidentiality
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders through newsletters, SharePoint, and inbox management.
• Support recruitment, induction, and governance arrangements including working groups.
• Ensure consistency and alignment across safeguarding teams and National Church Institutions.

Key role requirements

• This is a part-time role and you will be required to work 14 hours per week.
• A basic DBS check will be required as part of our pre-employment checks.
• This is a hybrid role with the expectation to work from the office location 1-3 days per week.

We are looking for someone with:

• Proven ability to handle sensitive communications with tact and professionalism.
• Excellent digital literacy, confident across Microsoft 365 and a variety of web-based tools such as web-based applications (such as Asana, Zoom, SmartSurvey) and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Able to build and maintain effective relationships with a range of stakeholders, including those who are survivors of abuse.

• A salary of £16,228.80 (FTE £40,572) per annum, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.

About the role

FLEX is looking for a passionate advocate with a good understanding of the UK political system, of labour abuse and/or exploitation and human trafficking in the UK, and demonstrable experience of coalition working and building relationships with key stakeholders working in the anti-trafficking, employment rights, and/or immigration sectors. This recruitment comes at an exciting and challenging time for our work at the intersection of employment rights and immigration policy. This role will inform and support our work to influence and improve law, policy and practice affecting worker in high-risk sectors in the UK.

In this role, you will lead on FLEX’s advocacy at the London level and coordinate the joint research advocacy and project work of FLEX networks and coalitions. These currently include the Labour Exploitation Advisory Group (LEAG) and the Taskforce on Victims of Trafficking in Immigration Detention, two networks made of expert organisations directly supporting people who have experienced or are at risk of exploitation. Above all this role requires someone with real passion and commitment to FLEX’s work to end labour exploitation and an excitement for working in a small, dynamic team.
