• Dealing with incoming enquiries from across the organisation and externally to signpost to the right team in an efficient way.
• Point of contact for clinical administrators attending meetings, feeding back to marcomms team on activities and helping to keep lines of communication open between teams.
• Providing cover on press inbox if needed.
• Working with the team to create and send our weekly news round up.
• Facilitating the local induction and training of new staff to support new starters to feel welcomed, achieve compliance, and get up to speed in their roles.
• Arranging booking of regular Marketing and Communications team meetings.
• Maintaining the team sharepoint site.
• Supporting the team with planning and helping to monitor tasks that come in.
• Supporting the Digital Manager with managing tickets and enquiries to our web developers.
• Supporting the Marketing and Communications Officer to manage the collateral review and management process and assist with archiving.
• Assisting with intranet updates.
• Fulfilling printing and laminating requests.
• Creating posters and templates for retail.
• Creating resources for events eg name tags, signage.

Help Men Begin Their Path to Recovery

We are looking for a compassionate and organised Referrals Practitioner to join our team and play a vital role in welcoming new residents into recovery. For this recruitment cycle, we particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of recovery and/or the criminal justice system, as well as those from underrepresented ethnic groups and diverse socio-economic backgrounds.

About the Role

The Referrals Practitioner supports all aspects of our referral process – from handling enquiries and assessing applications to ensuring smooth, safe, and supportive arrivals for new residents. Working alongside the Referrals Coordinator, you will:

• Respond to referrals and enquiries with professionalism and compassion
• Carry out assessments in line with Nehemiah’s admissions procedures
• Build relationships with referral agencies, prisons, and community partners
• Provide feedback to applicants and agencies on referral outcomes
• Arrange and support resident arrivals, including prison gate pickups where required
• Help ensure our houses remain safe, positive recovery environments
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports and monitoring

This is a varied role where no two days are the same – you might be assessing an application one morning, presenting to a prison referral team in the afternoon, and welcoming a new resident from the community the next day.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking someone who is:

• Experienced in working with vulnerable adults in recovery, the criminal justice system, or related fields (paid, voluntary, or lived)
• Skilled in communication, with the ability to build trust and rapport with residents, partners, and colleagues
• Organised and confident using IT systems (ideally including Salesforce or similar CRM tools)
• Able to demonstrate resilience and empathy in challenging situations
• Understanding of addiction recovery and safeguarding principles
• NVQ3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent experience (including lived experience)

We are seeking a flexible, reliable, and enthusiastic Support Worker to deliver services for Young Carers aged 5–16. The role involves three key parts. Job purpose

Key accountabilities

Assist the management of Able Child’s brand and external communications, with high quality content.

1. Along with the team, manage Able Child’s social channels, working with external suppliers when applicable, to maintain a professional and engaging external brand.

2. Support the management of a vibrant and responsive website by ensuring content is up to date, professional and engaging; supporting the collection of imagery, videos, case studies and blogs where directed.

3. Produce and distribute Able Child’s quarterly newsletter, contributing with high quality written content and complying with organisational data protection and confidentiality standards.

Assist the management of Able Child’s portfolio of fundraising events.

4. Assist with the delivery of Able Child’s events portfolio when required. This includes but is not exclusive to the London Marathon, the Gala Dinner, the Children’s 10k walk and the Charity Golf Day.

5. Market the events, recruiting, retaining and communicating with participants to support the achievement of income targets.

7. Support the attainment of funds from a variety of Trusts and Foundations, through submitting high quality applications.

Competencies

Experience

1. At least one years’ experience in a fundraising, communications, marketing or sales support role or similar.

2. Experience of managing or supporting the management of events to, ideally including managing volunteers or supporters to raise funds.

3. Experience or knowledge of writing funding applications, ideally with a demonstrable track record of securing funds from Trusts and Foundations.

Skills and Technical Competencies
