Wood Lane End is a specialist supported living service designed for individuals with learning disabilities and Autism, particularly those with complex needs and behaviours that challenge. The service is structured around a single-customer model, meaning the home is tailored to one individual, ensuring highly personalised care and support. Staff are trained in Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) and Autism-specific approaches to ensure the customer's emotional and physical wellbeing is prioritised at all times. About the Role

Advice Giving

• Deliver a multi-channel advice service, including home visits, to clients regarding their energy needs and income maximisation support, ensuring advice provided meets the requirements of Citizens Advice quality standards.
• Ensure all case recording and other record keeping is completed within agreed timescales and conforms to the Office Manual and the Advice Quality Standards
• Use sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow clients to explain their problem(s) and to identify the next course of action.
• Use a range of information sources to find relevant information, then interpret and communicate this to clients, enabling them to tackle fuel poverty and financial hardship for the long-term.
• Assist clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer internally or to other specialist agencies as appropriate.
• Meet the individual performance targets set as part of this project.

Research & Campaigning

• Take an active role in the research and campaigns process by identifying trends and social policy issues and communicating these to the Project Supervisor and Research & Campaigns Co-ordinator.
• Keep up to date with current research and campaigns priorities, initiatives and plans.

Administration

• Collect and record all relevant information given during interviews on to Casebook to meet the monitoring and evaluation requirements of the project.
• Be self-administering and undertake general administration tasks e.g. taking messages; photocopying, collating, filing; processing post etc.

Professional development

• Pass the City and Guilds NEA Level Energy Awareness exam within 2 months of starting the role.
• Keep up to date with relevant energy advice issues and maintain an up to date working knowledge of all new relevant legislation through:
  • Attending training opportunities.
  • Reading monthly subscriptions, relevant publications and Citizens Advice Updates
• Prepare for and attend supervision sessions/team meetings/staff meetings/forums, as appropriate.
• Identify and implement your own learning and development needs.

Other duties and responsibilities

• If required, work from a variety of Citizens Advice Liverpool outlets across the city as required over the course of the week.
• Promote the aims, policies, and membership requirements of the Citizens Advice service.

1. One year’s experience of delivering generalist advice within Citizens Advice or another quality assured environment such as AQS.

4. Effective oral and written communication skills, with good IT knowledge to support delivery of service

This role is part of a brand-new service which is being delivered across Liverpool and will provide dedicated energy and welfare support to individuals who are vulnerable and in or at risk of fuel poverty.

As Energy Adviser, you will provide a multi-channel advice service, including home visits, to fuel poor and vulnerable consumers who are struggling to pay their bills or require better deals on energy. That advice will include:

St Mungo’s is expanding its Bristol Outreach team to better support people experiencing street homelessness. We’re looking for 2 dedicated individuals to join the team as Outreach Workers where you will work with those living in vehicles and caravans - an increasing group affected by Bristol’s housing crisis.

Our belief is that rough sleeping is an intrinsically harmful and dangerous activity both for the individual and for the wider community. Therefore, we take a proactive and assertive approach to supporting people away from this activity. Our aim is to support people to recover from the effects of rough sleeping and move away from a street lifestyle permanently.

Working as an Outreach Worker you will:

• Work with people living in vehicles and caravans to assess their needs and deliver a person-centred support that meet peoples individual needs and connect them to suitable housing options (including Meanwhile sites).
• Help people access vital services like healthcare, substance use support, and adult social care.

You will work on a weekly shift rota including mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. This helps us to ensure we are available to support people experiencing homelessness when they need us the most.

• You will have good communication skills with the ability to network and build effective relationships with a variety of people, a good understanding of the complex issues faced by homeless people and the difficulties they experience in accessing services.
• If you think you have the resilience and patience to work with people who may have complex needs and challenging behaviour, we will provide you with the tools and training to support clients to end rough sleeping for good.  
• Due to the nature of this role a full UK or equivalent driving license is essential for this post. Alternatively, proficiency in cycling would also be suitable.

Night Support Workers enable people with particular needs to manage their tenancies and live independent lives of their choosing in the community. Night Support Workers are responsible for ensuring continuity of a support service at night and for keeping customers and the building safe.

The shift pattern for this role includes 4 days on, 4 days off with 12 hour shifts.

What you'll do:

Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers and creating a positive atmosphere
Carrying out holistic assessments of new customers which incorporate relevant statutory referral information
Conducting regular key work sessions that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals
Create support plans for providing appropriate services based on on-going assessment and reflecting the services and resources available to enable customer to progress in their recovery
