As a member of MTL’s senior management team, you will take responsibility for the organisation’s growth and outward facing initiatives. You will lead and manage the organisation’s portfolio of social mobility leadership strands, and develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders. You will provide dynamic day-to-day leadership for the MTL’s directorate responsible for income generation, impact, research, communications and policy, and ensure the organisation continues to be an exemplar of innovation, integrity and collaboration. We are seeking an individual to undertake the dual role of promoting the profile of the RAF Benevolent Funds welfare offer, whilst also carrying out welfare casework. This is a community-based position working from home but covering the West Midlands: Staffordshire, Shropshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire.

Post holders will be expected to undertake holistic assessment of need both remotely (over the telephone and online) and when required in person across their region. You will be expected to work with individuals who may have complex and sometimes challenging welfare needs, assisting them by identifying appropriate support from within both the RAF Benevolent Fund and the wider statutory and military charity sector, ensuring that support is made available to meet their need through the case working process. 

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a social welfare role supporting individuals and will have strong people and relationship-building skills, as well as empathy with or understanding of issues affecting the Armed Forces community.

This is home based and the candidate must have their own vehicle for use of traveling around the region covered. Occasional travel to London will be required. The successful candidate for this role will need to be Enhanced DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.

• Supporting clients in maximising and maintaining income.

• Ensuring that risk assessments, support plans and outcomes are flexible and made on an individual case-by-case basis.

About this key role

As our Financial Wellbeing Coach, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or have been released from prison.  This will involve undertaking assessment and action planning with individual service users and creating a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users.

We will also count on you to deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards the achievement of prescribed outcomes, including group work sessions, and to work with service users flexibly, meeting and undertaking interventions in a range of locations across a wide geographical area.  Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with external agencies and working towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales and in line with specified quality standards are also vital aspects of the role.

Birmingham and Solihull Women’s aid have for over 40 years supported women and children with services around domestic violence and abuse. Could you be a part of our team as we continue our mission to end domestic violence and abuse? 

The region’s leading charity in tackling violence against women and girls, BSWA offers a helpline, webchat, drop in and and community support as well as emergency accommodation in six refuges across the area.

We are recruiting a Suicide Prevention Officer who is bilingual in Welsh and English to facilitate the development, sale and delivery of high quality and impactful training and education programmes, upskilling individuals and organisations in suicide prevention.

What you will do:

• Facilitate in-person and online training sessions, ensuring interactive and impactful learning experiences.
• Develop and promote PAPYRUS’s training offer, tailoring to stakeholder needs and securing sales.
• Build relationships and partnerships to expand our reach and influence.
• Support the creation of e-learning and digital training resources.
• Prepare stakeholders for, and debrief them after, suicide interventions.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A degree or professional qualification in a relevant field such as Education, Counselling, Training, Psychology, Community Development or Youth Work.
• A recognised training qualification or willingness to work towards one.
• Experience in delivering and developing training programmes and community-based projects in both English and Welsh.
• Ability to manage sensitive conversations and facilitate learning in emotionally complex areas.
• Strong relationship-building, presentation and time management skills.
• Professional curiosity, resilience, and a commitment to safeguarding.
• Confidence in working independently and remotely, with ability to travel as required.

Location: Although this role is home based, the applicant should be based in Cardiff due to the regular travel across the area. There is also requirement to travel across the wider area of Wales and West of England.

About the Role

As our Housing Coordinator you will ensure The Angelou Centre’s refuge accommodations continue to be a safe and welcoming safe for women. You will ensure we comply with statutory building, property and Health & Safety obligations. You will be responsible for ensuring health and safety compliance, coordinating repairs and maintenance, managing tenancy-related matters, and supporting the wellbeing of women and children accessing our refuge services. You will also line mange our Refuge and Housing Support Workers and our Haven Finance Officer

 Key Responsibilities

 Refuge Management

• Ensure that the refuge (dispersed accommodation) provides a safe supportive and welcoming environment in compliance with UK housing laws and the requirements of registered social landlords.
• To ensure completion of all necessary forms including housing and welfare benefit forms. 
• To liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies and networks, e.g. Housing Benefit -Networks/Housing agencies 
• Action any breaches of leases or tenancy agreements promptly and efficiently to ensure compliance with lease/tenancy obligations.
• Proactively address any arrears in a timely fashion and take appropriate action to recover debts.
• Working as a key part of our management team, supporting the Executive Director with planning, monitoring, evaluation and development planning
• Encouraging a positive and supportive environment in the refuge, ensuring that women’s and children’s voices are heard and central to our services
• Working in partnership with voluntary and statutory organisations, including Local Authorities and Children’s Social Care and other external agencies, keeping up to date with local resources and services available

Health & Safety

Line Management

• Engaging all team members in regular service reviews to promote best practice
• Managing and participating in the on-call support rota, responding to emergencies outside office hours on a rota basis
• Ensure staff are fully trained and able to carry out their duties

We are seeking an individual to undertake the dual role of promoting the profile of the RAF Benevolent Funds welfare offer, whilst also carrying out welfare casework. This is a community-based position working from home but covering the South East of England, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Essex.

Post holders will be expected to undertake holistic assessment of need both remotely (over the telephone and online) and when required in person across their region. You will be expected to work with individuals who may have complex and sometimes challenging welfare needs, assisting them by identifying appropriate support from within both the RAF Benevolent Fund and the wider statutory and military charity sector, ensuring that support is made available to meet their need through the case working process.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a social welfare role supporting individuals and will have strong people and relationship-building skills, as well as empathy with or understanding of issues affecting the Armed Forces community.

This is home based and the candidate must have their own vehicle for use of traveling around the region covered. Occasional travel to London will be required. The successful candidate for this role will need to be Enhanced DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.
