THE ROLE

WHAT YOU’LL DO

· Project management: Plan and manage projects from start to finish, making sure deadlines are met and everyone delivers on their part.

· Meetings and follow-up: Organise and run management meetings, keep notes, and make sure agreed actions happen.

· Governance: Oversee compliance and act as Company Secretary, keeping records accurate and up to date.

· Finance: Use Xero and work with accountants/bookkeepers to oversee budgets, accounts, and financial reports so the numbers are always clear.

· Fundraising and business development: Support funding applications, proposals, and relationships with partners to bring in new opportunities.

· Operations: Keep the day-to-day running smoothly — from diary management and HR basics to coordinating contractors.

· Communications: Maintain simple but effective comms, updating the website and keeping social media active.

SKILLS & QUALITIES

· Strong organisational and project management skills

· Experience of operations, governance, and finance oversight in a small organisation, ideally a social enterprise or startup

To be successful within this role, you be a strategic thinker who has significant senior leadership experience in marketing, communications, or partnerships, ideally in the non-profit or social impact sector. You will have proven success in developing and delivering integrated global marketing and communications strategies. You will have demonstrated expertise in brand positioning, storytelling, and thought leadership.

You will have strong experience in cultivating and managing partnerships with organizations, networks, and thought leaders, and engaging with diverse communities worldwide. You will also have expertise in managing digital channels, including social media, platforms, analytics, and campaign optimization. About the Sickle Cell Society (SCS)

The Sickle Cell Society (SCS) is the only national charity in the UK that supports and represents people affected by a sickle cell disorder. We provide information, advice and support to enable people to improve their overall quality of life. Over 18,500 people in the UK have a sickle cell disorder, an inherited condition that predominantly affects people of Black African and Black Caribbean heritage; and to a lesser extent people of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, South Asian and Central/South American heritage. 

Job Purpose:

To assist the Fundraising Manager in the delivery of the Sickle Cell Society’s (SCS) Fundraising Strategy and on-going development to achieve its fundraising priorities and targets. An exciting and varied role we are seeking a strong team player, and someone with the confidence and initiative to help develop and grow charitable income. The post holder will be someone with a ‘cando’ attitude and the enthusiasm to want to learn and get things done. We are a small, friendly and closely knit team of 20 skilled and highly committed staff and over 50 active volunteers.

The post-holder will work closely with the Fundraising Manager, and wider team to provide an engaging supporter journey and timely, efficient donor care to existing and new supporters of the Society. Responsible for helping the team meet our agreed income targets for celebratory giving, challenge events, community fundraising and corporate payroll giving initiatives.; the post-holder will be keen on developing their Fundraising career and interested in expanding their use of CRM databases, data management and the production of reports for effective donor stewardship.

You will be responsible for the membership and donors’ database (Beacon) keeping up to date and reporting back on results, whilst ensuring data compliance and implementation of data. You will be highly proficient in the use of business IT systems in particular Microsoft Excel to analyse data, and you will also have at least one year’s experience, or equivalent, in producing detailed and insightful reports.

The post-holder will be a confident communicator and collaborator with proven relationship building and creative and innovative fundraising skills. You will also support the development of our fundraising communications, monitoring performance across all channels driving best practice and income growth. You will generate and develop engaging fundraising communications and be responsible for your own copywriting, including thanking our wonderful donors via the most appropriate communication channels. 

This varied role will give you the opportunity to further your fundraising skills across a broad range of income generating activities as well as build strong, professional relationships to benefit the SCS’ charitable objectives.

About Sebby’s Corner

Sebby’s Corner is a Barnet-based charity supporting vulnerable families and children living in poverty across London and the South East. We support thousands of families every year with clothing, nappies, formula, school uniforms, birthday gifts and more. In 2024–25, we supported almost 4,000 children and over 2,300 parents, distributing £482,993 worth of essentials.

Sebby’s Corner serves families in crisis, many of whom are experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic abuse, seeking asylum, or living in poverty. Referrals are made by frontline professionals including social workers, midwives, health visitors, and family support workers so we can ensure we are reaching the most vulnerable.

We are looking for a confident and strategic fundraiser with proven experience in major donor and corporate fundraising. You will lead our income generation, helping us to raise over £400,000 every year, with a focus on building high-value, long-term partnerships with individuals and companies. Key Responsibilities

MAJOR DONORS

• Take the lead in cultivating, stewarding, and retaining high-value individual donors, ensuring they feel personally connected to Sebby’s Corner and the impact of their support.

What We Offer

Salary & Pension 

The salary range for this role is £42,000 - £48,000 FTE per annum (gross), dependent on experience and pro-rated if you work part-time. If eligible to join the pension scheme, we will match your contributions by 5%.

Annual Leave

You will be entitled to 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rated for part-time roles). We usually close between Christmas and New Year without this time coming off your annual leave allowance.

Pathfinders Neuromuscular Alliance is a national, user-led charity run by and for people with muscle-weakening conditions. We empower adults with neuromuscular conditions to live fulfilling lives through peer support, information, advocacy, and co-produced research and campaigns. We are seeking a Research Officer to support a series of user-led research projects exploring:

What is the role?

As the Schools & Community Fundraiser, you will be working as part of the Fundraising Team to meet organisational income targets. You will have responsibility for the co-ordination, organisation, and evaluation of existing schools fundraising events within agreed levels of income & expenditure.

You will be expected to foster and grow our links with educational establishments, the wider community across Lanarkshire and 3rd party supporters. · Communications & Digital – Lead the development, delivery and review of central, regional and local integrated communications & digital activity in the region to include print and broadcast media, social media, publications, advertising, events, direct marketing and internal communications as appropriate, ensuring objectives are set and measured. Create and edit key regional publications, as and when required.

· Case studies – Source and create local case studies, and work with Content Team to maintain the Chorus case study library with content to support local and national campaigns

The Swan Youth Project (SYP) Limited is a Berkhamsted based registered charity which offers 11-16+ years old of Berkhamsted and the surrounding area, a safe and secure recreational facility within which they can relax and socialise away from the stresses of school or home life. To support them in this we provide a daily drop-in facility with organised activities at the centre as well as holiday programmes, workshops, music gigs and so much more.

The SYP centre is well equipped with a DJ booth, pool table, table football, Internet room, chill-out room, Wii & Xbox, coffee bar and a fully equipped band practice room. A free snack and hot drink are offered to all members (some of whom may not have eaten all day).

ABOUT THE ROLE: You will help plan, execute and engage in activities that enhance member development.

Duties will include:

1. Running daily sessions both in the centre and off-site activities / trips

2. Assist with the planning and set up of specific activities

4. Create a calm and safe environment for both the young people and the staff.
