I have a fantastic opportunity with an international development charity, as Digital Marketing Specialist, based in either the UK or Sweden. The Digital Marketing Specialist is a brand-new role and will form a vital part of the charity’s Communications and Advocacy team. The successful candidate will lead the expansion of the charity’s Europe’s digital footprint, where a significantly improved digital offering for audiences in the Nordics, the UK, Germany and Brussels are a critical priority.

As Digital Marketing Specialist you will be responsible for implementing the new Digital Marketing Strategy and overseeing the management of a new website for Europe. A proven track record of using social media, email marketing and SEO (both organic and paid) to drive positive impact for an organisation (e.g. increased public engagement, fundraising income, policy change) is essential.

Essential skills and attributes:

- Established experience in digital marketing roles preferably either in the NGO sector or an agency serving a mix of clients, with a focus on website / social media channel management (preferably across multiple European territories including the UK, Nordic countries, and Germany)

- Fluent in English (with a 2^nd language in German, Swedish, Danish or French also highly desirable)

- Confident working in cross-cultural contexts, with our headquarters located in the Global South and with Europe staff based across several European countries.

The Position:

You will be joining our small, passionate NGO to manage our programme implementation and delivery. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be tasked with managing the distribution and delivery of our programmes. Key responsibilities

• Manage and deliver on our diverse projects

How are staff supported to work remotely?

Job responsibilities

● Support with the planning and delivery of an innovative, cohesive and progressive programme of delivery for Travellers and Staying Connected (focusing on personal and social development skills), and budgeting to ensure smooth and effective delivery of the programme.

● Recruit, engage and support young people aged to participate in the programmes.

  • Work closely with our CEO and the Leadership team to decide on the team day agenda, budget and format.

  • Find and book venues, hotels, social activities, and meals, and make sure everything’s set up and runs smoothly on the day.

• Support senior managers to plan their away days:

  • Advise on agendas and book venues, socials, and training.

  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration (one of each team’s away days is partly combined with another team).

This entry-level role is open to 18-25-year-old young women* who have been affected by criminal exploitation and violence. These experiences could be direct or indirect through relationships or areas and places lived or spent time in. You may also be a young woman who has had experience with statutory systems such as criminal justice, policing, social services or the care system where some of your experiences may be related to what is typically known as ‘criminal exploitation and violence’.

The National PR Lead is responsible for the successful delivery of Public Relations and Media strategies to support a designated portfolio of work. You will play a vital role in leading priority PR workstreams. Your expertise will ensure we use the most effective PR tactics to meet team and organisational goals. 

You will be responsible for:   

• Delivering PR and media strategies for specific portfolios, leading priority workstreams, and ensuring effective tactics to meet campaign and organisational goals.  

• Leading PR strategy development, execution, and evaluation to increase brand recognition and media reach; managing campaign objectives and sharing insights for continuous improvement. 

• Identifying, training, and briefing spokespeople including senior staff. 

• Managing reactive news and news desk functions to stay ahead of media agendas. 

• Maintaining strong media relationships, ensuring consistent key message delivery, and advising on reputational risks and issues. 

• Line management and team leadership for two National Media & PR Officers. 

Key Criteria: 

• Established experience in a similar PR position, managing a news desk or a press office.   

• Experience working in a large complex environment, ideally in the charity sector.  

• Excellent understanding of national consumer media (tv, printed, online, podcasts etc) 

• Line management experience and the ability to lead teams  

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with stakeholders of all levels.  

• Ability to work unsociable hours.

About the role

The Grants Officer will join our small, hardworking, friendly team and will be responsible for overseeing the monthly grants programme. They will support the Director in collating the board papers for each of the three annual Trustees’ meetings. They will also be expected to help assess the large and medium grant applications that go through to the Trustees’ meetings. The new Grants Officer will be asked to visit charities and projects, which will entail travel across England and Wales. The new Grants Officer will also maintain the grants database, be responsible for updating the new website and be the first port of call for any grant application enquiries.

About you

This role would suit a range of candidates and we are open to candidates without direct grant making experience but the successful candidate will need a demonstrable understanding and knowledge of the grants world. We are particularly keen to hear from people who have energy, enthusiasm, good communication and relationship building skills and experience and confidence with databases. An understanding of how to read charity accounts would be a bonus but training will be provided for the chosen candidate. You will have an aptitude for working both independently and as part of a collaborative team and managing a varied and busy workload.

 The ideal candidate will need:

• Recognised Graphic Design qualification to degree level or equivalent.

 Some of the Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
