Pratham is one of the largest and most respected education charities in India. We developed a model that can teach a child to read and do basic maths in as little as 30 days for £14. We also have preschool, vocational and women's education programmes.
We have strong support from the UK Indian diaspora and are in a period of significant growth that has seen us triple in size in three years; we now raise £1.5m a year and have an ambition to at least triple again. Our flagship fundraising event is our annual Gala; we will return to Raffles at the Old War Office this year on 8th November. The gala sponsorship pack is included with the job pack below. The evening consistently raises over £500k; this year, you will support the delivery of the Gala, but next year, you will lead it along with a calendar of cultivation and stewardship events that will help us grow partnerships with major donors, corporates and foundations.
While you will work in a small, fully remote team day to day, you will be part of the global Pratham network. The team in India has over 6,000 staff, and they raise $28m locally. Pratham USA has 14 chapters and produces around 12 galas a year, which contributes to its $30m income; you can share the films and branding of their galas, meaning we can really stretch our budget to put on an outstanding event.
We are a small team, and whilst an events person is vital for our development if someone wanted to get involved in other fundraising streams, particularly corporate or major donors, we would be delighted to read about it in your application and discuss it at the interview or in a call before the interview—which are welcomed.
All current staff have visited India to see the programmes, and whilst we can't guarantee you a visit as we grow, it remains an ambition. We can offer a level of flexibility on hours, we'd consider someone four days a week, but flexibility and some extra (paid) days might be required around the gala time. Our Executive Director stops for 30 minutes at 3 to pick up his children from school, work patterns that suit you can be considered.
We share our interview questions in advance, welcome non-graduates, and strongly encourage applications from within Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities and underrepresented groups.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
We are recruiting for a self-motivated and ambitious Communications and Marketing Assistant. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, and working closely with the Fundraising Officer, the candidate will play an active role in delivering a newly developed comms strategy.
Working at Basis means being part of a fun, dynamic and vibrant workforce; we also offer a benefits package including flexible working (for this post, home working will be considered) contributory pension (4%), free parking; significant opportunities to access training, funded external supervision and an Employee Assistance package.

CEASE (the Centre to End All Sexual Exploitation) is a national human rights charity. Our mission is to expose and dismantle the cultural and commercial forces driving all forms of sexual exploitation in the UK. Sexual exploitation does not occur in a vacuum, and only by addressing the wider context can we hope for real, lasting change.
As a charity, we join the dots between our hypersexualised, objectifying, pornified culture and public attitudes and behaviours towards sex:
• We demonstrate how the mass consumption of online pornography depicting the humiliation, violation and degradation of women and children has realworld consequences.
• We shine a light on the widespread exploitation and harm caused by commercial sex industries that undermine our human rights.
We are neither a religious nor an ideologically driven charity but seek to bring together a broad alliance of groups from many backgrounds around a common stance. CEASE’s work is based on peer reviewed research and survivors’ accounts; it takes the form of advocacy, awareness-raising campaigns, events, lobbying and other strategic actions.
We are looking for a Digital Content Officer to join us at CEASE (Centre to End All Sexual Exploitation). We welcome applications from people who have experience of creating and managing social media content and websites. Exeter-based cancer charity, Force, is well known and much loved for its incredible work supporting people who have had a cancer diagnosis and their families with a range of support. Their longstanding CEO is now retiring and the search has begun to find that special person to lead the charity into the future. We are delighted and honoured to be supporting the Board with this important appointment.
The current CEO has worked hard to ensure that the nurturing and caring aspect of the charity’s work is reflected across the organisation. You can see this in the way that everyone is treated – clients, families, staff, volunteers, supporters and trustees. We are looking for someone who understands and upholds these values but equally has the resilience and clarity of thought to navigate through the complex landscape of cancer services and support. You will have held a senior leadership role within the voluntary sector for at least two years and understand the legal framework within which charities operate. Previous experience of working with a voluntary Board of trustee/directors will be hugely helpful and, naturally, you will be financially astute.
Of course, you will be an inspiring and confident communicator, able to engage with and present to a range of audiences as well as working with local media.

Exciting opportunity for an imaginative, insightful, creative, and visionary leader to steer a thrilling new phase of our work.
The Emergence Trust (currently known as The JJ Charitable Trust) was founded in 1992 by Julian Sainsbury. A part of the Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts, the Trust works with organisations to tackle deep rooted systems within education, economics, and culture (values, beliefs and narratives) to help catalyse a fundamental paradigm shift towards a truly sustainable future.
The Trust has a history of supporting environmental and educational initiatives, supporting social and community experimentation around regenerative and circular economies, and improving the effectiveness of literacy teaching for children with learning difficulties. The focus of our Trust is evolving and shifting to have a more all-encompassing focus on culture and the role that it plays in addressing the major challenges of our time, including the deeper human roots of our nature and climate crises.
In this role you will have the opportunity to catalyse change for a truly sustainable future, being responsible for collaborating on strategy and implementation with the Trustee board and alongside colleagues, but with large degrees of autonomy. This is a unique opportunity to meaningfully address the climate and nature crisis, whilst utilising your creative abilities and professional experience, and a chance to guide and steer cultural conversations as part of a supportive and collaborative team.
You will be an accomplished generalist, likely with a media background, but you could be an experienced editor, commissioner, advertising creative, philanthropy professional, academic, curator, publisher, or experienced social innovator.
With an instinctive drive to discover, cultivate and connect emerging people, ideas, practices, systems, and organisations, you will be experienced in business development, strategic thinking and managing initiatives that create new forms of meaning or deliver meaningful change.

This is a 6 month Fixed Term Contract and there is a minimum of 1 day a week in the Farringdon office.
About Us
Save the Children UK believes every child deserves a future. In the UK and around the world, we work every day to give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. What we offer you:
Working for a charity provides one of the best benefits there is – a sense of purpose and reward for helping others. However, we understand the importance of giving back to our employees to ensure a happy and healthy working environment and work/life balance.
- We focus on flexibility, inclusion, collaboration, health and wellbeing both in and outside of work.
- We provide a wide range of benefits which will reward your hard work, motivate you, and inspire you to work to improve the lives of children every day.

Ways of Working:
The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK, but there are likely to be times when you will be required to come to your contracted office (up to 2-4 days per month or 6-8 days per quarter). Please note: travel costs to your contracted office will be at your own expense.
Flexible Working - We are happy to discuss flexible working options at interview.
Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion:
Save the Children UK believes in a world that is fair, inclusive and equitable where all children have the opportunity to change their world. We apply this to our workforce and we are committed to developing and supporting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organisation where all employees have a sense of belonging and feel that they can be "Free to Be Me". We are not looking for just one type of person - we want to recruit people who can add fresh perspectives, innovative ideas or challenge that disrupts the risk of group think.
We are especially interested in people whose childhood experiences - of life on a low income, of migration, of being in a racialised community, of the care system, of being LGBT+ or in an LGBT+ family or living with (or with someone with) a disability - help us to see things we might otherwise miss. Whatever your story is we want to hear it because we know that different voices, ideas, perspectives and knowledge, working together will enable us to better the lives of children around the world. This is the reason why we are all here.
