Head of External Engagement

About the role
We are seeking a transformational and visionary Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) to lead a national youth focused organisation, dedicated to promoting peer-led early intervention support for those in need. The successful candidate will be the first employed leader, propelling Youth4Youth from its robust foundations to the next stages of its development. The CEO will be responsible for turning our recently developed, yet ambitious, strategy into reality. Youth4Youth has secured funding to appoint a CEO for one year, with the expectation that the appointed leader will focus on securing long-term sustainable funding, thereby transitioning this position into a permanent role at the end of the fixed-term period. About the role
The purpose of this role is to drive policy development across our policy priority areas. The Policy Officer will lead on specific policy projects, commissioning research, developing policy positions, and producing reports and consultation responses.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, positive and creative communicator to help our small team support and empower people living with a genetic bleeding disorder.
It might sound obvious, but we need someone who loves communicating - whether that’s chatting to supporters at events, writing engaging content or creating eye-catching social media posts.You’ll immerse yourself in the wide range of work our small charity does and help us maximise its impact.
Your main focus will be on shaping and improving content and engagement on our social media channels, with support from our Digital Marketing and Content Manager, but this is a varied role with lots of opportunities to get involved in a wide range of projects. There’ll also be ample of opportunities to develop your skills and experience – both learning from members of the team and through external training.
We’re really proud of the work we do. We are looking for a Communications and Marketing Officer to promote the vision, values and activities of the charity to grow our profile, membership and supporter numbers across the UK.
You will work closely with the small team at the Haemophilia Society to ensure a positive, engaging, consistent, regular and effective programme of communication.
The Haemophilia Society is a member of the Charity Comms and Charity Digital organisations which offer a range of training opportunities.
Key duties & responsibilities
- Assume the day-to-day running of our social media channels, with support from our Digital Marketing and Content Manager. This includes planning, sourcing and creating content as well as monitoring the channels to ensure comments, queries and feedback is responded to as quickly as possible, liaising with relevant teams where necessary to formulate an agreed response
- Liaising with services, fundraising and public affairs to ensure engaging and informative messaging
- Work with all departments to create content to promote activities, drive member recruitment, fundraising and engagement
- Help to plan, source and create content for our twice-yearly members magazine Community Matters
- Be a guardian of our charity’s tone of voice and ensure it is appropriately used in communications, maintaining consistency and brand awareness
- Work alongside our infected blood community, assisting with relevant updates
- Keep up to date on best practice within the charity sector and particularly changes to digital communications and codes of practice.

Support the delivery and evaluation of national campaigns on workplace safety as well as stalking, harassment and other priority areas.

Maintain effective relationships with civil servants, policy makers, national and local decision makers, and other campaigning bodies and build relevant networks of stakeholders.

Proactively keep abreast of issues within the post-holder’s own portfolio, general criminal justice, personal safety and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) policy developments and up to date campaigning techniques.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Policy and Campaigns Officer is responsible for supporting on Suzy Lamplugh Trust’s policy and campaigning work relating to reducing harassment, violence and aggression in society by addressing these issues at their root cause, working with employers to improve personal safety culture within organisations and seeking to influence policy and legislative change where necessary. This role will also support campaigns that ensure that victims of stalking receive better support and protection.

About The Role
The Unity Project (TUP) supports people who are facing poverty and homelessness because their immigration status allows them ‘no recourse to public funds’ (NRPF). We believe NRPF should not exist and we are working to end it. Until then, we seek to minimise its impact by supporting people to make the ‘change of conditions’ (CoC) application to access public funds. However, as the number of people living under NRPF continues to grow, we know we will never be able to meet the need for CoCs. Ensuring that our knowledge and experience is shared - with advisors, support services, community groups and individuals who could make applications themselves - is vital. Raising awareness of our work also supports our income diversification strategy by building corporate partnerships and individual donations.
In this role, you will be leading The Unity Project’s outreach and communications work in order to increase awareness of the Change of Conditions process and the support The Unity Project can offer to individuals and organisations. Your first priorities will include mapping CoC provision across the country; working with the Director to design and implement a communications strategy to engage applicants, advice organisations, corporate partners and donors; and creating a suite of CoC resources to share online. As you develop in the role, you will deliver outreach and information sessions online and in the community.
