Your internship role within Concordis will be shaped by what is happening on Concordis programmes during the six months you spend with the organisation and by your interests, experience and abilities. As a team, we rely on each member to contribute their skills to our work and we will look to make the most of what you have to offer, while at the same time giving you opportunities to develop new skills and to challenge yourself.
You may be asked to carry out research and analysis into countries in which we are active, guided by our research managers and following our research methodology. Your role may include assisting with the development of project proposals, monitoring international news outlets and researching potential new project areas. You may be asked to help with monitoring and evaluating our programmes, working with the programme managers and programme officers to understand and capture results from our programme activities.
You may also be required to give practical, logistical and administrative support to the programme team to which you are allocated, including helping to set up data collection systems, analysing the data collected, preparing and sharing reports, liaising with project partners, preparing for dialogue or training sessions, translating peacebuilding material and taking notes at internal and external meetings.
You will attend team meetings and programme update meetings where you will hear from the Director of Programmes and other members of the programme teams, giving you the chance to understand what is happening on the programmes and to ask questions about any aspect of peacebuilding.
You will be asked to research sources of funding and may be involved in drafting applications for funding, including generating ideas for new programmes that meet the needs of communities and donors.
You may be required to attend external meetings, seminars and conferences and to contribute to website and social media content. You will be given opportunities and time to attend virtual training on peacebuilding and related topics. You will be asked to be part of the Security Monitoring rota whereby we take turns to track the movements of the in-field staff. This does include occasional essential weekend working.
You may also be asked to assist with HR processes such as evaluating applicant CVs and be given the opportunity to attend interviews as an observer/interviewer.
The internships are designed to give you concrete experience in research, programme management and funding within the international development sector.
The role will require you to work virtually with our UK team, with programme teams in one or more of the countries in which Concordis operates and with your fellow interns. If you live in or are visiting London, we will be delighted to welcome you to join some team meetings in person.

Yoga Stops Traffick is an international campaign to raise awareness of and funds for survivors of human trafficking in India. Every year thousands of yoga practitioners from all corners of the globe roll out their mats to stand in solidarity with young survivors. The funds raised from Yoga Stops Traffick help rescue and rehabilitate survivors of human trafficking, sexual and domestic violence, modern-day slavery, and child marriage.

About this volunteer role
This is an administration support role so we will be asking you to carry out administrative tasks such as:
- Copying and pasting templated emails, personalising them and then sending them to yoga studios and teachers.
- Compiling lists of yoga studios and teachers to contact.
- Updating trackers based on email responses.

Following appointment to the IGA, independent members are eligible for nomination to the BoT after 1 year as an IGA independent member.
Appointments on the BoT are for a 4-year term limit.
The IGA is the highest body of the new Islamic Relief Worldwide governance structure and consists mainly of representatives elected by Islamic Relief family members across five continents, creating a body that is truly globally representative. It is from the IGA that IRW draws its trustees.
We would like to hear from exceptional applicants with considerable experience and specialist knowledge in a range of professional backgrounds: law, accountancy, audit, humanitarian programming, PR/communications, marketing or fundraising, IT, charity financial policy and strategy, shariah compliance. Howami is an innovative mobile application designed to help young menstruating individuals engage with their menstrual cycle and emotions through the use of advanced game design technology, CGI visuals, and a fluid, gesture-controlled interface. Our mission is to combat the mental health crisis affecting young women, a crisis exacerbated by unhealthy social media usage, lack of menstrual literacy, and persistent period stigma. As Personal Assistant to the CEO at Howami, a female-led startup creating an immersive menstrual and emotional wellness app for teens, you will provide tailored, high-level support to the Founder/CEO to help manage and streamline the operational flow of the business. This role involves a deep understanding of the CEO’s unique working style and health needs, alongside an ability to support a growing, values-led startup with compassion, adaptability, and discretion.
About the CEO: The CEO is a 49-year-old Narcoleptic founder with extensive insight into all areas of the business. However, she experiences cognitive fatigue and narcoleptic episodes that make computer-based, high-concentration tasks especially challenging. This role requires close collaboration and intuitive support to help her move ideas forward and reduce overwhelm.
Key Responsibilities: • Executive & Administrative Support: o Transcribe voice notes and translate spoken ideas into clear, well-structured documents, emails, and plans. o Draft and manage email communications and respond on behalf of the CEO when needed. o Summarise meeting notes, prioritise action items, and follow up on key tasks to maintain workflow momentum. • Project & Workflow Coordination: o Help maintain clarity across multiple ongoing projects through light project management, tracking deadlines, and ensure follow-through across founders and collaborators. o Assist with the planning and coordination of internal strategy sessions, creative brainstorming meetings, and external partnerships. • Online Research & Document Preparation: o Conduct online research to support decision-making on marketing strategies, funding opportunities, and menstrual health initiatives. • Supportive Partnership: o Work closely with the CEO to understand and adapt to her cognitive rhythm, providing grounding and clarity in moments of fatigue or overwhelm. o Act as a bridge between the CEO and the rest of the founding team. Supporting communication and task delegation as needed.

We are seeking a strategic and persuasive Lobbyist to join our advocacy team at The IWI: International Women’s Initiative. In this critical position, you will leverage your extensive political acumen and strategic insight to influence legislation and policy on behalf of The IWI. The Lobbyist will play a critical part in shaping public policy and advocacy initiatives that align with our mission and objectives. They will serve as a key liaison between our organisation and governmental entities, ensuring that our interests are effectively represented and advanced. Ideal candidates for this role possess a keen understanding of advocacy, the legislative process, excellent communication skills, and an unwavering commitment to the human rights of women. RESPONSIBILITIES
o Establish and maintain relationships with elected officials, policymakers, community leaders, coalitions, advocacy groups and other stakeholders to promote The IWI's objectives;
o Monitor and report on legislative developments and emerging issues that may impact The IWI;
o Collaborate with internal teams to align lobbying efforts with broader organisational goals and messaging;
o Draft and advocate policy proposals, position papers, policy briefs, reports, and testimony to articulate our stance on key issues, while representing The IWI in public forums;
o Prepare reports and recommendations for senior staff;
o Draft and disseminate press releases, position papers, and other communication materials to promote The IWI advocacy initiatives;
o Utilise social media platforms to enhance public engagement and support for The IWI lobbying efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
o 5+ years of experience in lobbying, public policy, or government relations, with a proven track record of successful advocacy efforts;
o Deep understanding of the legislative process and the political landscape, particularly as it relates to CEDAW;
o Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex policy issues clearly and persuasively;
o Experience in developing and maintaining strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including lawmakers, industry groups, and grassroots organisations;
o Previous experience in government or advocacy roles;
o Strong network of contacts within the legislative and regulatory community;
o Strong understanding of legislative processes, political systems, and stakeholder engagement strategies;
o Able to work independently with minimal supervision;
o Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred:
o Advanced degree in public policy, political science, law, or a related field;
o Experience in women’s human rights relevant to The IWI's mission;
o Proven ability to navigate complex political environments and build consensus among diverse groups;
o Membership in relevant professional organisations or certifications in lobbying or advocacy is a plus.

Role Overview: We’re looking for a creative and organized Educational Content Creator to design engaging self-paced online courses for students ranging from elementary to high school. Topics will include science, physics, math, coding, and more. These courses should include structured lesson plans, instructional videos (optional), interactive activities, and quizzes to reinforce learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop self-paced STEM courses with clear learning objectives.
