Age UK are recruiting for a part-time Lead Quality Assessor (21 hours per week) to undertake assessments of the quality of Information, Signposting and Social Welfare Advice that is provided by Age UK Network Partners (local Age UKs; local Age Cymru Partners; Age Cymru; Age Scotland; Age NI; and Age UK); and ensure consistency in how our quality standards are assessed across the wider assessment team.
In this role you will:
* Carry out assessments on the quality of Information, Signposting and Social Welfare Advice delivered by Age UK and its Network Partners across the UK through a range of services (e.g. traditional I&A service, social prescribing, LPA etc), assessing how well each Partner is delivering against the relevant requirements of the Age UK Network Quality Assurance Framework.
* Provide written reports for Age UK Network Partners in the required format, using your expert skills and knowledge to identify how well they have met the standard - identifying areas of strength, areas of non-compliance and suggestions for improvement.
* Support the process of quality assessment and continuous improvement of services where Age UK Information, Signposting and Social Welfare Advice is given, including, * moderating reports - with responsibility for ensuring that assessors are applying the standard fairly and there is consistency between the assessors; * reviewing self-assessments - liaising with Network Partners to give feedback on how well they are meeting the standards; * following up on Corrective Action - working with our Service Quality Advisors to review submitted evidence and the adequacy of corrective action taken by Network Partners, in response to their assessment findings. * signing off Corrective Action Reports and providing formal feedback to Network Partner Managers and CEOs.
* Work with the Quality Team to ensure consistency across the assessor team, by taking a lead role in assessor training / consistency days, using these to share learning, provide updates and instruction.
* Contribute to the on-going development of the wider Age UK Quality Framework by providing feedback on any Information and Advice related quality programmes.
The post holder is required to travel to a range of locations for assessments and for meetings at the London Office which may involve overnight stays. (Although the majority of work is currently online using MS Teams, national travel is likely in future).
Applicants must have ability to access a computer, confidential workspace, key advice texts and be able to work online.
Must haves:
* Extensive and relevant experience in an advice service, with knowledge of key advice issues affecting older people in at least two of the following areas of social welfare law: welfare benefits, community care, housing.
* Knowledge and understanding of good practice in managing and delivering Information, Signposting and Social Welfare Advice services.
* Demonstrable experience of supervision of advice work. Demonstrable experience of maintaining effective case recording systems and procedures, ideally electronic.
* Effective communication skills with a range of audiences, both interpersonal skills and the ability to write and proof-read effective reports for external stakeholders.
* Ability to make rigorous, fair and impartial assessments against quality benchmarks for Information, Signposting and Social Welfare Advice services.
* Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to manage workload and prioritise.
* Good time management skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
* Understanding of the issues affecting older people seeking advice.
* Good IT skills including an ability to use Microsoft Office, and online systems for bookings, assessing case records.
* Clear understanding of the principles of confidentiality and data protection.
* Knowledge and understanding of the equality and diversity issues affecting the delivery of Information, Signposting and Social Welfare Advice services.

As part of the Getting Help team, you will provide social and practical support to adults with common mental health problems in a range of settings across Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale (HMR). This includes assessment and support planning, and community outreach. Typically, Community Engagement Workers support people who are on the waiting list for or who are engaging in Talking Therapy. The Getting Help team works in partnership with HMR Talking Therapies delivered by the Big Life Group and Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.

At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice we care for children and young people whose lives are just too short. Our aim is to reach every family that needs our help and to offer them the very best choice of care. Did you know that every year we need to raise £5m to keep our doors open and only around 20 percent of our income comes from government sources? The rest has to be raised through fundraising activity.
Our services include short overnight stays and community breaks at home or in the hospice. We also support the whole family from diagnosis with our multi-disciplinary Family Support team who provide counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy and much more. Our care team supports these families in our modern, purpose built building. All our rooms/bedrooms have a homely feel. We have a sensory room, spa pool, cinema room and six acres of gardens.

Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a Charity Operations Manager to run the smooth, effective operation of the organisation so we can best support people in the UK living with thyroid disease. This is a management role leading on all operational activities, supporting and working in close collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Salary will be reviewed after an initial 6 month probationary period.
This role involves minimal supervision and is responsible for the day to day running and management of the charity.
General office management:

Goals4Girls, a pioneering charity in girls & young women's football and educational development, is seeking a new Fundraising Specialist as the charity enters an exciting new phase in its service delivery and growth plan. The focus for 2024 and beyond is on expanding and financing the delivery of our new social prescribing & football programme strategy. This will focus on developing new corporate partnerships & community engagement alongside embedding the G4G fundraising strategy across our operational structures. Our Stoke Community Drug and Alcohol service are recruiting for an experienced Senior Non Medical Prescriber (NMP) to join them in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse client group. If you are a registered Nurse or a Registered Pharmacist who thrives working in a community setting, assessing and supporting people with their healthcare issues, this might be just the role for you.
As a Senior Non Medical Prescriber, you will be responsible for carrying out clinical assessment, diagnosis and clinical management in line with both With You and National regulations, policies and procedures. Working under the support of a Clinical Lead, you will provide clinical leadership and clinical supervision (in conjunction with the Clinical Lead) for the Stoke service, coordinating clinical staff in line with best practice, contract and Commissioners requirements.
You will also support, deliver and facilitate high quality educational learning and development opportunities for clinical and non clinical staff to ensure that evidence based prescribing is practised and policy awareness is robust.
You will be eager to keep up to date with developments in the treatments that you are prescribing and help With You to develop, implement and evaluate the interventions we use with our clients. These include:
- harm reduction; providing support and advice in relation to substance misuse
- clinics; where we assess, screen and triage clients, advising on detoxification where appropriate
- vaccination and blood testing programmes

Main Duties
1. Uphold the service values and principles, ensuring that safeguarding children and vulnerable adults is of paramount importance.
2. To build trusting relationships with parents and families, recognising their strengths and capabilities to help them identify their needs.
3. To work closely with parents and their families throughout the community, to enable parents to make connections with peers and their communities, signposting them to appropriate services and providing child development, health, and wellbeing advice where appropriate.
4. To build up knowledge and understanding of local resources and community and statutory services at both ward level and Southend wide.
5. To comply and contribute actively to the required monitoring of outcomes for the service.
6. To work in partnership with the early years sector to support families achieving their outcomes.
7. To refer and signpost families to specialist and other services when appropriate and with consent, in accordance with required protocols and monitor family progress and engagement with referred services.
8. To facilitate and/or deliver evidence-based activities including evening and weekend sessions.
9. To establish and maintain a physical presence within the community.
10. Keep and maintain high quality records and produce reports when required.
11. To attend and deliver supervision and training sessions as requested.
12. To undertake any other duties as requested by the organization.
Experience
• Sound understanding of safeguarding procedures.
• Proven experience in working with families, especially those facing disadvantage or vulnerability.
• Excellent understanding of the social, emotional and development needs of children under 5 and working with expectant families to promote healthy pregnancies.
• Experience in developing and delivering community-based initiatives and services, that empower families and remove barriers to access.
• Experience of developing and managing effective partnerships
• Experience of recording, monitoring data and retrieving information
Knowledge
• NVQ level 3 qualification in ChildCare, Health or Social Care or equivalent relating to children’s services, family work or evidence of recent and continuing professional development in relation to child development and/or family support practice.
• Level 2 Safeguarding
• Evident awareness of Early Help, Team Around the Child process and Children Social Care processes.
• Domestic abuse awareness certificate.
• Trained, or willing to receive training on: Asset-based approaches, Trauma informed approaches, Adverse Childhood • •Experiences, Participation & Co-production and Parenting Programmes.
Skills and abilities
• Ability to work with parents and to encourage their positive engagement.
• Commitment to the learning and development of young children and families.
• Ability to work as a part of a team and on own initiative.
• Good IT skills including use of Microsoft Word, Office, internet and email.
• Commitment to continuing professional development.
• Ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds, and strong communication skills to remove any barriers to access.
Additional
• Full driving license and access to a vehicle as travel across Southend is expected.
• Must be able to undertake evening work and weekend work a minimum of 5 times per month to deliver antenatal and parental education courses.
