Purpose of Role

Group Facilitators play a crucial role in delivering a range of therapeutic sessions aimed at supporting the wellbeing of survivors of sexual violence. This role involves creating a safe and empathetic environment where survivors can heal and grow. The Group Facilitator offers empowering peer support, fostering a sense of community and understanding among participants.

Through these therapeutic sessions, survivors are empowered to regain control over their lives, build resilience, and navigate their healing journey. The facilitator provides valuable guidance, emotional validation, and tools for coping and self-care, and they serve as a compassionate guide, helping survivors of sexual violence find strength, connection, and healing.

Main responsibilities include:

•  Leading group intervention sessions for male, adolescent, and non-binary survivors of sexual abuse, assault, and rape.
• Collaborating with the Group Work Manager and the organisation's safeguarding lead to effectively address safeguarding concerns.
• Documenting client interactions, participation, and identified risks using our client case management system and by adhering to organisational protocols.
• Formulating comprehensive plans for group sessions, further refine the group model, and conduct risk assessments when necessary.
• Prioritising ongoing monitoring and evaluation, ensuring the timely and accurate recording of outcomes to gauge effectiveness.

About the role

Development Group generates philanthropic and sponsorship income to help us create a Natural History Museum for the future – investing in capital development, attaining vital acquisitions for the collection, transforming our galleries, developing innovative exhibitions and undertaking ground-breaking scientific research on issues that affect us all.

The Museum is looking for an ambitious and self-motivated individual for the role of Philanthropy Manager. The role will be focused on raising funds from high-net-worth individuals capable of giving six-figure gifts and key in achieving our strategic priorities. It will involve working both independently and closely with senior stakeholders in order to cultivate and maintain relationships with new and existing funders, securing income towards a diverse range of core and capital projects.

Working alongside an approachable and highly successful Philanthropy team and reporting into the Senior Philanthropy Manager (HNWI), the role will cultivate and build relationships with a portfolio of potential and existing funders, engaging with them through correspondence, meetings, events and creating compelling proposals to secure funding. About you

The programme 

The mandate of the Knowledge, Learning and Communications (KLC) programme is to capture, distil and share knowledge and learning to strengthen Foundation’s impact and effectiveness. The programme brings together a range of functions critical to the Foundation’s identity, coherence and visibility including the facility to learn internally; management of information and infrastructure; leadership of the Foundation’s monitoring and evaluation work; and all aspects of our communications and outreach including reporting.  

The role 

The Programme Officer (PO) will support the effective delivery of the Foundation’s Knowledge, Learning and Communications (KLC) workplan. Working under the supervision of the KLC Programme Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the Foundation’s websites; planning and creating content for our online channels that communicates meaningful results and tells the Foundation’s story in as engaging way as possible; event coordination, facilitation and promotion; support for media relations; support for annual reporting and results monitoring; and support to Foundation staff in the optimal use of communications tools and IT. 

Key tasks and responsibilities 

The postholder will undertake the following key tasks: 

• Actively promote the values and aims of the Commonwealth 

• Monitor and engage with sector news, trends and discussions 

• Plan and create content for all social media channels, monitoring and reporting on social media reach and digital metrics

• Manage content for the Foundation’s websites and work with web developers to develop functionality and meet evolving needs 

• Play a leading role in event coordination and promotion 

• Work collaboratively with the other Foundation programmes, identifying opportunities to maximise synergies towards the Foundation’s vision and mission

The individual 

We seek an individual with demonstrated experience in communications gained within a comparable field, especially of social media and online marketing, along with experience of using website content management systems.  The ideal candidate will also have experience using the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and have a good understanding of Microsoft tools and webinar/virtual meeting platforms. They will have strong writing skills and experience in storytelling and reporting, along with an ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders. They should have an awareness of ensuring brand and style guidelines are reflected across communication activities and be comfortable acting as a first point of contact for media enquiries as well as liaising with colleagues and external suppliers. 

What we Offer 

Salary expectations:  £32,076 - £35,605 per annum

Support Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following stroke. We’re looking for an innovative, passionate professional, whose values match the organisations, can think independently and is open to a coaching style of management, to join the Stroke Recovery Services based in West Norfolk.

The Role

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers whose lives are affected by aphasia, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes. A key part of the role will be to support service users and the delivery of the service.

Reporting to the Stroke Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Support Coordinator will:

• Supporting new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.
• Provide personalised information, advice and support.
• Enable stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes, which will help them to prevent further strokes.
• Work with other health and social care professionals across the stroke pathway to ensure high quality support.

About You

Knowledge, skills and experience you will ideally have:

Role Title: External Communications and Advocacy Lead

This is a rare opportunity to shape the new communications function in a thriving cancer charity, establishing Shine as the go-to charity supporting all young adults living with any type of cancer in the UK.

● Develop implementation plans to support Shine’s communications strategy to build authority in the cancer support space.

● Responsible for all external communications with media including national and regional outlets, print and broadcast, digital channels and titles read by healthcare professionals.

●    Working closely with the Shine team to raise Shine’s profile through advocacy activities in the cancer community and healthcare professionals.

Essential skills:

● Ability to develop multi-channel communications plans, using social, digital and traditional media platforms

The Advice Service is dedicated to enhancing income, alleviating poverty, and ensuring secure housing for community members throughout London. Our goal is to empower individuals by facilitating access to appropriate support through a strength-based and person-centered approach. Action for Refugees in Lewisham (AFRIL) are recruiting for a Community Activities Coordinator to join our growing, dynamic organisation. This exciting new role will sit within AFRIL's busy Casework and Advocacy Service, working collaboratively with our asylum seeking and recently granted refugee clients to plan and deliver a range of activities, improving wellbeing and community solidarity.

Action for Refugees in Lewisham (AFRIL) is a registered charity that supports asylum seekers, refugees, and vulnerable migrants in South East London. Pre-Action Protocol letters to challenge unlawful public law decisions. The service currently provides Level 1 immigration advice under the Immigration Advice Agency.

• Destitution Support - a fortnightly Food Bank in partnership with St Peter’s Church providing food, food vouchers, toiletries, and other essentials, alongside a warm hub with free cafe, information and support. Small grants for essential items and cash payments for food in emergencies. Securing and distributing gifts in kind, e.g. winter coats, laptops and data. 

• Allotment of Refuge - a welcoming community of food growers that supports improved health, wellbeing and integration of members, whilst protecting the local environment. 

• Immigration Project in partnership with Southwark Law Centre, providing free legal advice and representation to support people to regularise their immigration status. 

We also use our frontline experience, together with our clients, to engage in Policy and influencing work to improve the services and policies that impact our client group. This includes advising the GLA on 3 asylum related working groups, and as a member of the London Housing Panel.

Legal Casework Manager (Helpline)

Are you aware of the significant health inequalities that people with a learning disability face in the UK and levels of avoidable deaths? Are you passionate about access to justice for the families of people with a learning disability who have died avoidably in acute healthcare settings?

We’re looking for a dedicated Legal Casework Manager (Helpline) to join our committed information and advice team covering England at Mencap on a full time (37.5 hours per week) fixed term contract for 2 years.

Here at Mencap we are a leading charity providing advice, support and opportunities to people with a learning disability across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The role will lead on supporting families to get answers about how their loved ones died and change across the healthcare system to prevent future deaths. 

The role is flexible in terms of location, which can include home working, using Mencap’s office bases, such as in London and Peterborough, and will include some national travel, for example to inquest hearings or to meet families when needed. 

About the Role

As Legal Casework Manager (Helpline), you’ll provide advice, support, and casework assistance to families facing complex legal issues, specifically relating to people with a learning disability who have died in avoidable circumstances across England, mainly within the healthcare system. Working within a small, supportive team, you’ll manage your own caseload, contribute to the body of knowledge about avoidable deaths and help empower families to understand and exercise their rights and get answers through the inquest and other investigations processes. 

Key Responsibilities

· Provide clear, accurate, and timely legal advice and casework support for families.

· Work closely with clients, many of whom will be distressed, ensuring a sensitive, trauma informed and professional approach

· Maintain up-to-date case records and comply with quality and regulatory standards

· Support strategic litigation and advocacy efforts where appropriate

· Liaise with other charities, coroners, legal professionals, and agencies to support families to get answers

· Work towards a world where people with a learning disability are no more at risk of death in hospitals, than any other person

· Manage a team of caseworkers working across different areas of advice.

About You

We’re looking for someone:

· Legally qualified in the UK or similar jurisdiction with at least 3 years post qualification, working in either clinical negligence, inquests or inquiries. Or similar number of years working as a senior case worker in an inquest/clinical negligence/inquiries advice role.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a non-judgemental and empathetic approach

· Ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise effectively, and work independently

· Ability to travel effectively to support families at inquests, and to attend meetings

· A clear understanding of the importance of professional boundaries and in maintaining their emotional wellbeing in distressing situations

· Strong management skills and ability to supervise, coach and mentor colleagues. 

· Experience of accurately recording client case records and use of CRM/client database system
