The Role

As a Housing First Worker, you will play a crucial role in delivering the organisation’s Housing First model. This involves providing independent tenancies alongside intensive, personalised support for individuals with complex needs who have not progressed through traditional supported housing pathways.

You will:

• Build and maintain strong, proactive relationships with clients
• Deliver personalised tenancy support, including welfare rights, health, and community integration
• Carry out assessments, risk management and case reviews
• Support clients in developing the skills and confidence to sustain their tenancies
• Work collaboratively with outreach teams, housing providers, and external agencies
• Advocate on behalf of clients where needed and encourage self-advocacy

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant with a hospice on a permanent, part-time (4 days per week) basis. As Management Accountant you will play a key role in supporting financial decision-making across the charity. As Management Accountant, you will:

- Provide day to day line management for the finance team, overseeing workload allocation, driving process improvements and enhancing operational efficiency

- Monitor restricted and unrestricted funds, ensuring appropriate allocation and reporting

- Maintain accurate records of income and expenditure in line with charity SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice)

The successful applicant will:

- Have demonstrable experience in finance within the charity sector, in a similar role

AFK is a national charity creating opportunities for children and young people who are disabled or neurodiverse, to increase their independence, reach their individual potential and remove the barriers they face. As part of this we provide bespoke employment skills training and organise work experience across North London.  

At a national level, we provide mobility equipment not available on the NHS for disabled children and young people up to the age of 25.

Overall Job Purpose

To support young people aged 18+ with a range of disabilities/neurodiversity to progress towards and into employment. The role will be to primarily liaise with employers and brokering new opportunities for supported and unsupported employment. You will also work with young people assessing their employability skills and place young people into employment, some voluntary roles and work placements. Specialist one to one job coaching will be required to enable young people to progress towards their own goals and objectives.

The post is 35 hours a week, normally 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. The post holder may be expected to work some evenings and weekends as required by the job.

Principal Responsibilities

Employer Engagement & Opportunity Development

1. Proactively engage with employers to identify and create employment opportunities for young people (YP), including voluntary roles, work tasters, and placements.
2. Secure a range of opportunities—paid employment, voluntary work, work tasters, and placements—to support individuals on their employment journey.
3. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the local labour market and emerging opportunities relevant to employment, volunteering, and work experience.
4. Build and sustain effective partnerships with local employer groups, statutory bodies, voluntary organisations, and private sector stakeholders to develop suitable opportunities for YP.
5. Provide training and guidance to employers as needed to support inclusive employment practices.

Individual Support & Coaching

1. Deliver intensive one-to-one support to individuals across all aspects of employment preparation and progression.
2. Work with up to two YP at a time, in collaboration with their Employment Coach (EC), to identify and support their employment aspirations.
3. Assess and advise on financial implications related to part-time employment and disability benefits for individuals.
4. Support YP in developing employment-related skills and connect them with relevant training opportunities.
5. Provide initial workplace support to YP before transitioning ongoing support to their EC.
6. Refer YP to specialist services for additional advice and support when appropriate.
7. Develop tailored plans to help YP achieve their employment goals.
8. Deliver or coordinate coaching and training sessions as required.

Collaboration & Case Management

1. Collaborate weekly with AFK’s Senior Employment Coach to match job roles to YP from EC caseloads.
2. Monitor YP progress into employment and maintain accurate records.

Administration & Professional Development

1. Complete all administrative tasks associated with the role in a timely and accurate manner.
2. Participate in learning and development activities identified through regular appraisals and reviews.

About you:

You will have a degree or diploma in health, management or a related field, and a high level of experience in leading and delivering successful transformation or improvement projects.

You will have experience of managing projects and / or programmes in complex organisations and a track record of delivery. You will be comfortable with preparing reports in different formats, and be confident in reporting to executives and Trustees on delivery and impact.

The role works alongside clinical teams to lead, develop and embed changes. You may or may not be a clinician, but it is critical that you understand how clinicians work.

This is a senior strategic role, reporting to the CEO, and will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of the organisation’s products, services, and impact on its members and wider society.

Location: Rugby, Warwickshire (hybrid working)

Salary:  Circa £100,000

The Director of Development and Innovation will lead the development of an ambitious strategy to ensure the organisation remains at the forefront of innovation in its field. Working closely with the CEO, Board, staff, and external stakeholders, the postholder will oversee a portfolio including training, events, publications, policy, and professional learning.

Key priorities will include:

• Driving a culture of innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
• Delivering sustainable growth through new and existing products and services.
• Identifying and capitalising on business opportunities that increase reach, revenue, and impact.
• Building strong partnerships with industry, academia, government, and other stakeholders.
• Leading and inspiring a high-performing team responsible for training, events, publishing, and policy impact.

• Strong organisational and IT skills (Salesforce or equivalent a plus).

Are you an experienced research professional looking for a new challenge in a purpose-driven organisation? We’re seeking a talented Research Manager to lead the delivery of a national research grants programme and ensure that the very best projects receive support.

Part-time (4 days per week / 28 hours)
Salary: circa £65,000 FTE
Location: Hybrid – minimum one day per week in the London office

Key responsibilities

• Manage the organisation’s research grants portfolio, including applications, awards, monitoring, and closure.
• Coordinate annual funding calls, peer review processes, and feedback for applicants in line with recognised standards of research management.
• Maintain effective relationships with research stakeholders, including the Scientific Advisory Panel, grant-holders, and funding partners.
• Lead the organisation of advisory panel meetings and manage membership, recruitment, and governance.
• Develop processes for research impact reporting and produce regular reports.
• Collaborate with the communications and fundraising teams to translate research outcomes into accessible, inspiring content for donors and the public.
• Keep up to date with best practice in research management and ensure policies and processes remain compliant and effective.

You’ll bring:

• At least five years’ experience managing research funding or grant programmes, including peer review processes.
• A strong track record of working with diverse stakeholders such as advisory panels, researchers, and funding partners.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience collaborating with communications or fundraising teams to convey scientific information in accessible terms.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team.
