In this role, you will play a central part in delivering our Group Social Value Strategy and championing the impact we create with our partners and appointed companies throughout the region.

Role purpose
The Head of Finance is a key member of the Charity’s senior management team, working closely with the chief executive, directors, and trustees. The head of finance will lead the day-to-day financial operations of the Charity, including budgeting, reporting, audit, payroll, and pensions. Managing the finance manager and management accountant, the Head of Finance will ensure the effective running of the finance department and smooth day-to-day processes. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will be a key advisor on strategic financial decisions, balancing meticulous operational control with strategic planning.
As the Head of Finance, you will:
- Proactively contribute to the development and delivery of the Charity’s strategy through developing long-term financial planning to underpin our objectives.
- Act as senior finance business partner to the senior leadership team, supporting strategic and operational decision-making.
- Lead on the annual audit and production of statutory accounts, ensuring effective management of the audit process.
- Support the rest of the Charity team to become financially informed and comfortable understanding financial performance, control, and accountability.
Main responsibilities
Financial controls, reporting, and operational finance
- Lead the finance function of the Charity, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial management and reporting.
- Ensure that appropriately robust internal financial and operational controls are in place.
- Ensure that our unrestricted and restricted funds and accounting records are maintained in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and best practice.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly management accounts and other reports are produced by the finance team and distributed to members of the senior management team, encouraging ownership of departmental budgets.
- Manage and oversee accounts receivable and payable, ensuring strong cash management.
- Ensure all banking facilities, financial systems, and internal processes function to a high standard and enable the Charity to carry out its transactional and operational financial functions.
- Lead financial risk identification and mitigation, working closely with the chief executive and leadership team, and reporting to the board of trustees.
Financial administration and governance
- Manage the production of statutory accounts in line with the Charity SORP and lead the annual external audit process.
- Oversee our tax affairs, including PAYE, national insurance, corporation tax, VAT, and gift aid.
- Responsible for our payroll and pensions functions.
- Maintain and continuously improve financial policies, procedures, and controls, working closely with the fundraising and operations teams to ensure organisational efficiency.
- Identify and escalate financial risks to the chief executive and board
- Line manage and support the management accountant and finance manager, ensuring professional development and high-quality output.
Person specification
Knowledge and experience
We are looking for candidates with demonstrable strategic financial leadership spanning organisational planning, budgeting, risk, and reporting. You will have:
- You must be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, OR CIMA)
- Excellent knowledge of charity financial management, SORP, and audit is essential.
- Experience of effective budget setting and implementing controls and processes to manage and monitoring budgets
- Firm understanding of risk management
- Experience of improving policies and processes in comparable organisations
- Success in delivering increased cost effectiveness
- Evidence of building financial impact and performance metrics and reporting
- Understanding of the requirements of legislation, Charity Commission and professional body guidance on a being a well-run and financially accountable Charity

As a Student Advisor (Student Finance), you'll provide free, independent and confidential advice to students at the University of Manchester. You’ll be a generalist Student Advisor while also while also taking the lead on student finance and money advice. You'll become our team's specialist in this area, helping students understand their funding options, access financial support and navigate financial challenges. As a generalist advisor you’ll be providing advice and guidance across all areas of the Advice Service, including academic issues and regulations, University disciplinary procedures, housing and wider student life matters.
With the rising cost of living and increasing complexity of student funding, you’ll play a key role in helping students access the financial support they need and empowering them to make informed decisions. We’re looking for someone who can support students professionally, sensitively and with empathy, ensuring they feel heard, informed and confident about their next steps.
You’ll enjoy this role if you have an interest in money advice and financial wellbeing, alongside a curiosity about the law and an enthusiasm for understanding regulations, policies and procedures. Excellent communication skills are essential, together with the ability to respond compassionately to students experiencing distress or crisis while providing practical advice and support.
Alongside one to one advice, the Advice Service delivers supported self-help resources, preventative campaigns and outreach activities to help students access information before problems escalate. One25 is a Bristol charity for women moving from crisis and trauma towards independence in the community. It is a highly respected charity working with some of the most vulnerable women to help them to heal and thrive.
One25 services have been developed to meet women at their point of need, with love and practical support. We do this through our night outreach service which is a lifeline for women on Bristol’s streets. Our specialist caseworkers offer intensive one-to-one care in any area of need: from support in court to finding somewhere safe to live. Our Health Hub provides vital access for women to health services, supported by healthcare professionals.
This is an exciting opportunity to join One25 as we recruit a new Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advisor (IDSVA) to join our specialist case work team. You will be supporting women who street sex work and are at a high risk of domestic and sexual violence. This role is key to coordinating a multi-agency response to women to improve their safety, while providing trauma informed practical and emotional support individually.

As Senior Philanthropy Fundraiser, you will play a key role in securing significant support from major donors, philanthropists, high-value supporters and donor-advised funds. About the role
Cardiomyopathy UK's Director of Research and External Affairs leads the charity's research, policy and advocacy, and communications and marketing functions, with a team of four staff. The post-holder sets the strategic direction of the directorate, drives high-quality delivery, upholds the charity's values, and represents the charity externally. The Director is a member of the charity's Leadership Team, working closely with the CEO to steer the charity forward.
For the right person, this is an opportunity with real strategic scope. We want to build on our strong policy positions and evidence base and translate them into more proactive campaigning and influencing, moving from good policy thinking to concerted public affairs activity, strategic stakeholder engagement, and campaigns that achieve real change.

CONTEXT
An estimated 12,000 men are raped every year and 76,000 sexually abused or assaulted. Yet just 4% of men will tell someone. Of those who do, it takes on average 26 years to do so.
Survivors UK provides specialist support to (cis and trans*) men and boys, and to non-binary people, who have been raped, sexually assaulted or abused. Our aim is to help any man, boy, or non-binary person, to have the confidence to tell someone what’s happened to them, and to know that it’s OK to seek help. When they do, we want to ensure they have access to the right support so they can deal with the impact of their experiences.
We provide emotional support, information and signposting to survivors and anyone worried about someone they know, through a national website and webchat service (open till 8pm most evenings). Last year, 2,600 people contacted us via our webchat services and social media.
In London, we are the only organisation providing specialist services for men and boys, including individual counselling and therapeutic groupwork, available till 9pm six days a week. Across London, we provide the capital’s only Independent Sexual Advisor (ISVA) Service that helps men and boys through the criminal justice system.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting role at Survivors UK which combines counselling and practical support, specifically to the (circa) 150 people who refer themselves for individual counselling with us each year. You will work specifically with young people aged 13+ and people from Black, Asian and Multi-Heritage communities who have experienced sexual violence.
The people served include those with clinical mental health diagnoses, drug and alcohol dependencies, at risk of suicide, homelessness or involved in the sex industry. You will need to be a highly skilled counsellor with experience of dealing with very vulnerable clients, willing to work flexibly and on your own initiative. Importantly, you will be a compassionate person, able to blend therapeutic work with practical support and care.
Main responsibilities include:
- Provide counselling and practical support interventions to boys, men, trans people and non-binary people from the BAM community who have been raped, sexually abused or assaulted with high levels of need and who are most vulnerable.
- Deliver counselling interventions by phone, video calling and face-to-face with clients 13+ years old.
- With clients, develop action plans to help them address emotional and practical needs and ensure clients can engage with a flexible service.
- An ability, interest and commitment to working and developing a therapeutic approach that is culturally attuned to Black, Asian and Multi and Dual Heritage clients.
- Maintain accurate and timely client case notes, ensuring adherence to confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection procedures.
- Support the monitoring and reporting to funders on the development and delivery of the service.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Experience and qualifications
- A BACP, UKCP or BABCP accredited counsellor, psychotherapist or CBT practitioner.
- Completed at least 3 parts of EMDR training. Potential for completion of the training to be offered with the role
- At least 2-years’ experience of working with highly vulnerable clients in a counselling and/or support service.
- Knowledge of trauma informed practice
- Demonstrable caseload management, with experience of undertaking initial counselling assessments.
- Experience of using creative approaches such as art, drama or play when working therapeutically with children and young people.
- Proven track record in helping clients who are experiencing high levels of distress and/or chaotic lifestyles, to improve their health and wellbeing.
- Efficient and accurate use of outcomes monitoring frameworks, such as CORE, Outcomes Star, or similar
Skills, knowledge and competences
- Strong understanding of the experiences, needs and impact of rape, sexual abuse or assault on (cis and trans*) men and boys, and on non-binary people
- Self-motivated and a self-starter: high level of confidence to develop and deliver a new service.
- A mature, calm and empathic manner: able to engage with clients who have challenging needs and deal with highly emotional and stressful situations.
- Strong communication skills: able to build trusting relationships and rapport with clients and interact and engage effectively with external agencies.
- Adherence to confidentiality and boundary policies and practices.
- High degree of flexibility in approach to working with clients and the wider team.
- Positive attitude and willing to contribute to developments, improvements and changes more broadly within Survivors UK.
- Competent administrator and highly organised: committed to maintaining accurate client records and reporting on performance.

About the role
An exciting oppurtunity has arisen within Safenet Lancashire Community Outreach team for a DRIVE Independent Domestic violence Advisor supporting High risk victims of domestic abuse in the community.
Using your experience of delivering support to victim of domestic abuse, you will provide high quality and pro-active front line service helping to keep survivors safe. You will be assessing risk, completing safety and support plans, and ensuring the service offer is accessible and inclusive to all.

What we are looking for
We welcome applicants from a range of relevant backgrounds; direct refuge experience is not essential, but you do need to bring credibility, confidence and compassion from related fields.
You might come from:
- Substance misuse or addiction recovery services
- Trauma‑informed women’s services
- Mental health or psychologically informed environments (PIE)
- Housing or supported accommodation with complex needs
You will bring

Essential:
- Twelve months experience of working with adults experiencing domestic abuse and violence.
- Have a good understanding of the impacts of the abuse on adults and children.
- Experience of working with adults in a crisis situation.
- Strong Communication skills.
- Experience of key working, completing risk assessments and safety plans, creating support plans, delivering support, in a person-centred and trauma informed approach.
- Proven experience of providing direct emotional, practical and welfare support to women, men and children.
- Ability to build effective relationships, liaising and with agencies and being an advocate.
- To have excellent time management and organisational skills working on own initiative and within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- An in depth Understanding of safeguarding adults and children.
