We are looking for a Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist to join our People and Organisational Development team. Your role will involve delivering a variety of learning interventions, taking ownership of projects from scoping to evaluation, and ensuring that all training interventions align with the BHF priorities and yield measurable return on investment. This is a key role in leading and embedding coaching and mentoring in the BHF to grow our coaching culture.

As part of our L&D team, you will champion learning and help promote and embed a culture of learning and growth across all areas within the British Heart Foundation (BHF). Working with the L&D Team you will work on identifying training needs that enable our colleagues to deliver to the best of their ability.

The role will facilitate engaging and memorable behaviour-led and process training interventions that enhance organisational performance and align to the BHF strategic vision. 

About you

You’ll have a strong knowledge of scoping, designing, and delivering training (and support resources) for both face-to-face and online sessions, ensuring that the learning experience is engaging and memorable. 

With excellent communication and influencing skills, you’ll have the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and will be confident presenting to audiences of all levels. 

You will be self-motivated with good project management and organisational skills. You'll demonstrate a learner-led mindset and be able to adapt your style and approach to deliver effective learning of a wide variety of learners. 

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• • Experience in delivering effective and inclusive management development programmes
  • An understanding of creating accessible content driven by application of adult learning theories.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS PowerPoint & MS Teams
  • Training or coaching qualification or equivalent relevant experience
  • Psychometrics experience or understanding e.g. DISC/Myers Briggs/Insights (desirable, not essential)

Working arrangements

This is a blended role, with travel to our London office at least twice weekly and some national travel required.

Please note, travel costs to the London office as part of your role are not reimbursed by BHF, travel to other sites as part of this role would be able to be claimed as expenses.

Specialist Behavioural Support Workers are responsible for the customer's emotional, psychological wellbeing as well as providing support to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs. At Nimrod House, this will include providing physical, emotional, domestic, and social care. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices.
This role's shift pattern consist of early and late shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
What you'll do:
Behaviour Analysis:
- You are liable to observing and monitoring the customer's behaviours, the duration, the intensity, and the damage, as well as factors that may alleviate or trigger the behaviour.
- You are responsible in planning appropriate intervention to modify and resolve the behaviour.
- You require superb interpersonal and relationship skills and must have the capacity to handle psychologically behavioural changes.
- You understand and collaborate with the different support organizations accessible in the community.

Other Responsibilities:
- If a need arises, deliver all aspects of support to enable a customer to develop independent living skills as appropriate to the individual needs of the customer. In some services, this will include delivering personal and physical care as appropriate.
- Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation.
- Participate in the support planning and risk management, as facilitated by the lead Support Worker.
- Carry out security duties to ensure the safety of the customers and premises.
- Monitor the CCTV throughout the shift.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of Children and Young People’s Services, to join an ambitious healthcare charity based in Leatherhead.

As Head of Children and Young People’s Services, you will be lead, manage and develop the services in this area, providing overarching leadership, and management.

The Head of the department needs to monitor the needs of the service, and where possible find creative and innovative ways to develop the service and address growing and changing needs. Key responsibilities include leading on the delivery of outputs and outcomes of a number of grant funded services, planning and managing the departmental budget for the Children and Young People’s Service and regular reporting to Surrey County Council, Services Committee, Trustee Board, and funders as required. You will work to support and supervise the team of staff and volunteers and provide information, support and advice for children and their families /carers.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding individual who is passionate about providing high-quality care and support for children and young people, and who can lead and manage with strategic vision and operational excellence. Extensive experience of working with children, young people and families that has included the overarching responsibility for Safeguarding children and young people is crucial, as is a strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and best practices. The ability to travel extensively throughout Surrey is a must.

You will also lead dynamic direct marketing campaigns, digital appeals, and social media drives that captivate and convert our supporters into donors.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Experience of planning and executing purpose-driven digital & offline fundraising campaigns.
• Fundraising and donation-focused marketing experience including creating donor journeys for acquisition, retention & upgrade
• Social media management
• Ability to craft emotionally resonant messaging aligned with the mission for web, email, social, direct mail and fundraising copy.
