This exciting new position will see you collaborate with the Director of Innovation to establish a new team within the Marketing, Fundraising & Engagement directorate, shape strategy and build a pipeline of innovative projects. What will I be doing?
Lead the development and delivery of new propositions, offerings and initiatives, from idea generation to launch.
Partner with insights and service design teams to conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, audience behaviours, and fundraising opportunities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in MFE and PIC plus stakeholders across the business to design and test innovation concepts.
Develop and implement experimentation frameworks, including rapid prototyping and A/B testing, to validate ideas.
Build strong relationships with external partners, including agencies and industry experts, to bring fresh perspectives and capabilities to fundraising innovation.
Secure internal buy-in for new ideas by preparing compelling business cases and presentations for senior stakeholders.

Role Summary
Development Group generates philanthropic and sponsorship income to help us create a Natural History Museum for the future – investing in capital development, attaining vital acquisitions for the collection, transforming our galleries, developing innovative exhibitions and undertaking ground-breaking scientific research on issues that affect us all.
Reporting into the Head of Resources & Planning, this role provides the opportunity to join a Development operations team in driving forward the exciting, ambitious and transformational NHM150 campaign. You will have the opportunity to be innovative and proactive, as well as utilise your creativity, project management and organisational skills to oversee donor recognition and ensure we are providing a consistent and best in sector experience for our donors and partners.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Stewardship and supporter journey
- Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Head of Corporate Partnerships, lead the development of a structured, overarching stewardship programme that works across the Museum. Take a supporter journey approach and ensure the programme includes a creative and innovative range of benefits and recognition to foster well-managed, mutually beneficial and lasting relationships with funders.
- Coordinate stewardship efforts and work with colleagues to produce tailored stewardship plans.
- Provide strategic and day-to-day advice and guidance to staff on stewardship.
Funder recognition
- Work with the Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships departments to ensure a cohesive approach to the funder benefits matrix and recognition and acknowledgement.
- Advise and lead on funder inclusion with event and event material including, speeches, invites and associated thanking moments
- Lead on the creation and implementation of a funder recognition strategy for each major project and giving mechanism, ensuring consistency with the Museum’sdeli Naming and Recognition Policy and including, but not limited to, funder boards and naming opportunities.
- Lead for Development on work with the Design, Comms, Marketing and Digital team to develop agreed frameworks and ‘lock-ups’ for the NHM’s brand and visual identity. Create agreed procedures to ensure sign-off by all parties which is effective and well-communicated.
Communications and reporting
- Support colleagues in researching, writing and producing high-quality impact reports for funders in line with Deeds of Gift, contracts and other agreements.
- Support the creation of the Museum’s Annual Review, Annual Report and similar impact reporting; ensuring appropriate funder recognition.
- Manage the annual Season’s Greetings cards creation and distribution
Other responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse group of Museum stakeholders, to ensure stewardship plans and activities are successfully coordinated and delivered.
- Responsible for oversight of Supporter Cards for key Development supporters, working with the Database team to create and distribute.
- Develop a strong knowledge of sector best practice through networking, benchmarking against comparable institutions, identifying and undertaking training and development opportunities, and where appropriate implement these best practices at the Museum.
- Record essential information accurately and appropriately, using Development Group systems and the Raiser’s Edge database. This includes tracking agreed and live negotiations for funder recognition and commitments on major projects.

Job Title: Deputy Service Manager
Location: In Service based in Croydon, CR0 1EB. You will be required to work across multiple services within the area.

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Sunday, working across a rota which will include day and night shifts as we provide a 24 hour service.
About the role
We are looking for a Deputy Service Manager to join our team based in Croydon, providing leadership and line management to a team of night staff which is around 10 people in total. You will provide support and supervision sessions at night, and general leadership to the team so they feel empowered to be productive and perform well within their roles. You will be responsible for creating a psychologically informed environment (PIE) with person centred support during all hours. This service is a Forensic Mental Health provision for 27 people across 4 sites in Croydon. For your own personal safety, you will require to have access to your own transport as you will need to travel between our 4 sites during the night shift to provide managerial support to the teams. The teams support our residents with person centred support, to empower them to overcome their personal barriers with their mental health, to have greater independence and fulfilled living. The service is responsible for holding various activities, group sessions, and one to one support to enable residents to build their personal skills and experiences to achieve their goals.
The role includes:
- Line Management and Leadership, supporting your team providing advice, guidance and support throughout their employment lifecycle
- Support the Service Manager in leading the day to day operational delivery of the service
- Risk Management ownership, ensuring processes and policies are followed

You will oversee safety inspections, manage risk assessments, maintain up-to-date records, and coordinate with contractors and landlords to ensure all remedial and planned works meet health, safety, and housing regulations. We will also entrust you with coordinating employer health and safety regulations. Reporting to the Head of Property and Facilities, your role is central to protecting residents and enabling our operational teams to deliver outstanding service.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
· Ensure all regulatory requirements & certifications are maintained and securely documented (e.g. gas, Electrical safety, legionella, Asbestos, fire alarm and lighting tests etc.), Ready for inspection as required.
· Undertake annual risk assessments for all areas relating to properties (including fire); maintenance and cleaning activities and ensure that relevant details are shared with others appropriately
· Build close relationships with our landlords and providers to ensure any compliance works they are responsible for under the terms of the lease are carried out to the required standard that we are satisfied with along with the local authorities or facilitate the work on their behalf.
· Ensure all HMO licencing information is up to date for all relevant properties and records of HMO Licences are retained on in-form and work together with Local Authorities. Ensure all additional works that are required for licence are completed in a timely manner.
· Oversee weekly and monthly Health and safety inspections for all sites.
· Work with Head of property & Facilities on Health and safety tasks for the organisation
· Contribute towards the budget setting for all planned compliance and health and safety works and ensure this remains within the budget set.
· Promote a high standard of hygiene among staff and residents and ensure controls are in place to reduce the risk of pests, damp, and mould, taking remedial action.
· Remain informed of all relevant property legislation for the private rented sector, HMOs and supported accommodation and implement changes within the organisation to maintain compliance.
· Support operational managers and staff to deliver outstanding services to our residents.
· To take control of the accident reporting, working with managers and SMT to ensure that all staff adhere to the process of reporting these incidents.
· Provide a monthly report to the Head of Property and facilities with compliance for the property portfolio as a minimum.
· Comply with Homeless Oxfordshire’s policies and procedures
