The Personal Assistant role is pivotal to the success of the charity and provides a high standard of administrative support and personal assistance to the CEO. You will also provide administrative support to the Interim Finance Director and Interim COO.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide high level of confidential PA duties, administrative and project support to the CEO, Interim Finance Director and Interim Chief Operating Officer (COO) to enable the smooth and effective running of the charity
• Excellent and pro-active inbox and diary management whilst responding proactively to a range of organisational activities
• Act as a first point of contact for internal and external enquiries, handling sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism
• Functional lead in supporting the Interim Finance Director with Governance arrangements and assistance to both the Board of Directors and the Finance and Audit Committee, including minute-taking for their meetings and effective coordination of related tasks.

The PA will have proven experience in a similar PA/EA role within the charity sector, supporting executive-level leaders with excellent organisational, time management, and multitasking skills. You will demonstrate strong diary and email management abilities, accurate minute-taking for senior meetings, and proficiency across Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint and remote communication tools such as Zoom and Teams. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential, along with discretion in handling confidential information and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders. Experience in event coordination, document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, OneDrive), and working in a fast-paced office environment is also required.

Desirably, the candidate may bring an interest in the screen sector, policy or education, experience with visual content tools like Canva, familiarity with AI tools, social media management, and the ability to provide basic tech troubleshooting. A calm, confident manner and experience working in a matrix environment would be advantageous.

This role is primarily office based (near Barbican) with 4 days a week in the office and 1 day a week from home. The core working hours are 9-5pm. Some very occasional evening or weekend working may be required but TOIL will be provided on those occasions.

About this key role

Your role will be to provide young person centred holistic support – including everything from helping clients to understand their own behaviour and its consequences, and promoting change, to helping clients’ families to support them and providing practical help with attending appointments, education, training and employment options, housing, benefits, debt and other aspects of day-to-day living. You’ll be part of a client focused SOS Team delivering casework services, predominantly Monday-Friday during office hours, and within Islington (although other hours and deployments may be required). You’ll also work closely with a range of partner agencies to ensure clients access the appropriate services and get the best outcomes.

Working flexibly within the community, with responsibility for one or more volunteers, you’ll be building effective and engaging relationships with young people involved in or at risk of being involved in the criminal justice system, with the aim of improving their life chances. You’ll conduct robust risk assessments and strengths-based needs assessments, with safeguarding as the priority, and ensure that all young people work towards an agreed support plan which is regularly reviewed and adapted. What we are looking for:

• Significant experience of working with children, young people and/or vulnerable adults and delivering interventions that have had a positive impact – preferably in a health and wellbeing context and/or on an offender led support project.
• Experience of providing support, advice and advocacy, with the ability to assess clients’ needs. 
• Extensive experience of managing complex safeguarding issues with children, young people and adults who are at risk of violence or exploitation, whilst working alone.
• Understanding of the physical, social, emotional and developmental needs of children and young people, their specific needs as they transition to legal adulthood, and the issues they face, e.g. exploitation, victimisation, offending, school exclusion, unemployment, trauma.
• Extensive knowledge of the impact of context – with a clear understanding of best practice around contextual safeguarding and those experiencing harm outside the home.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice in the context of working with children, young people and parents/carers impacted by violence and exploitation, and of how trauma –including from their own lives – can impact on how practitioners manage cases.

As Philanthropy Officer, you will be an organised and proactive fundraiser, adept at multi-tasking and working across a variety of projects to successfully support senior leaders. You will be keen to learn from senior fundraisers and implement exciting new approaches for the Sutton Trust, and bring strong organisational and interpersonal skills.

The philanthropy income team is a team of two, working closely with the Director of Development to secure and steward individual donors. As Philanthropy Officer, you will support both the Head of Philanthropy and Director of Development in their work with individual donors, including undertaking prospect research, writing briefings and compelling reports, coordinating meetings and donor visits, and maintaining accurate donor records.

The role sits in the Philanthropy team of the Development Department and is managed by the Head of Philanthropy. You will work closely with colleagues across both the Development Department and the wider organisation.

Main duties

New Business

• Undertake prospect research across the spectrum of philanthropic income in collaboration with the Head of Philanthropy - including identification, due diligence, qualification, and creating briefings and outreach plans
• Work with the Head of Philanthropy to identify and cultivate a prospect pool of potential donors, looking at lapsed supporters, current low-level donors, stakeholder network mapping through the Board and Trustees, as well as philanthropists with an active interest in education/social mobility
• Work with the Head of Philanthropy and other colleagues to implement, promote, and maintain a low-level online giving campaign, including transition of our online giving capabilities to the Trust's website, and automated stewardship activation
• Support the Head of Philanthropy to lead the Sutton Trust's approach to alumni fundraising - working collaboratively with the Alumni team in the Programmes directorate to develop and deliver a compelling alumni fundraising campaign

Stewardship and Cultivation

• Be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of mid-level donors, providing excellent relationship management from cultivation to stewardship

Person Specification

Skills and experience:

Early Literacy Interventionist (North London)

Are you looking for a new challenge? Are you keen to work with children to support and develop their phonics and reading skills? 

38% of children from disadvantaged backgrounds leave primary school in England each year unable to read to the expected standard. Chapter One is a fast-growing charity, with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills they need to thrive. We work to ensure that all children have 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most.

Our Early Literacy Intervention (ELI) programme (based on a model that serves 20,000 children successfully in the USA) provides daily, 1:1, 7 minute phonics sessions for children who are behind in phonics. Using a bespoke technology tool, a trained Early Literacy Interventionist works individually with target children. 

This ELI role, reporting to the Schools Development Manager, is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop and grow their knowledge of phonics and/or their teaching skill set. It is ideal for someone with previous school experience who is looking for a new and exciting challenge.

You will conduct initial baseline assessments and then deliver differentiated, 1:1, targeted, 7 minute phonics sessions to pupils using a systematic, synthetic approach. Although you are employed by Chapter One, you will work closely with the school team to understand the progression of the school’s phonics teaching; establish tailored plans for each child and feedback on pupil progress. Using your knowledge and insight, you will also collaborate with colleagues at Chapter One to further improve the ELI model, the online tool and programme delivery.

This role leads on the development and delivery of community organising initiatives and supports the wider integration of these methods across King’s. Through community organising, the role empowers school leaders, young people and parents to design, launch and sustain impactful campaigns. The post holder will work closely with Citizens UK organisers and colleagues across King’s to build strong partnerships and drive meaningful change, including engagement in broader, high profile local, regional and national initiatives.

The postholder will use community organising methodology to lead and expand our core community organising programmes which are currently, Parent Power South London, Empoderando Familias (in partnership with Citizens UK) and Empower ESOL. A key focus will be driving the strategic growth of our flagship Parent Power programme into new regions in collaboration with The Brilliant Club, where we have a commitment to support the launch of a new chapter each year through to 2028/29. This role is pivotal in driving community organising initiatives and supporting the strategic development of student campaigns across UAL. You will support and empower student campaign groups by delivering training, developing resources, and fostering engagement with student voice initiatives. About the role

We are seeking a Head of Fundraising to develop and drive Iswe’s income generation strategy and grow a high-performing fundraising team.

This role is ideal for someone experienced and confident enough to lead the function with minimal oversight, but still eager to be hands-on. You will bring a good understanding of the climate, democracy, and systems change funding landscape, ideally along with existing funder relationships. You’ll be creative and entrepreneurial, with the ability to craft compelling cases for support, develop new income streams, and build the operational systems required to raise and manage funds effectively.

Your goal will be to secure £10 million over the next 3–5 years, and position Iswe for long-term financial sustainability.

You will report to the CEO and will manage a Senior Fundraising Officer, with the opportunity to expand the team over time (e.g. an individual giving lead and a high-net-worth donor lead).

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and deliver an ambitious fundraising strategy aligned with Iswe’s organisational goals, including project-specific income generation and unrestricted funding. 

• Identify and pursue diverse fundraising opportunities, with a focus on:

Purpose

This role leads the coordination of Kids’ online engagement and digital inclusion work for young people with SEND, including information provision, participation, and wellbeing support. You will deliver a two-year Online Wellbeing and Resilience Support Programme, including identifying and engaging digitally excluded young people to help them access vital digital tools and services. The role also drives collaboration across the Digital Services Consortium (a collaboration of 12 children’s charities), embedding shared learning, outcome measurement, and inclusive digital practices across Kids, and will create new capacity to work with young people to scope and deploy online campaigning activity.  

Responsibilities

• To lead and coordinate Kids’ online engagement and inclusion work for young people with SEND. This includes Kids’ online information provision; voice/ participation and wellbeing work.
• To develop and deliver Kids’ two-year digital inclusion programme, Online Wellbeing and Resilience Support Programme* to ensure reach and impact is maximised.

Together, we’ll co-create new online content and resources that truly reflect their voices and experiences. 

 What the Programme Offers: 

• Online information with resources codesigned with young people with SEND. 

• A series of interactive webinars and guided online activities. 

• Free devices and data to improve access to those who need it most, plus the support to ensure everyone can participate.

We will reach over 1,800 young people over the two year funded period.

Thanks to National Lottery players, the Digital Services Consortium (DSC) has received over £1.5 million over two years from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest community funder in the UK. The DSC has also received a grant of £400,000 from BBC Children in Need for two years to provide digital support for disabled or seriously ill children and young people and their family members across the UK. Virgin Media O2 and Vodafone have generously donated devices and data through the Good Things Foundation National Databank and Device Bank which will help address affordability barriers.

About the job

We're looking for a Democracy Coordinator to help support and grow Arts SU's democratic spaces. You'll play a key role in making sure students are involved, informed and empowered through forums, elections and other democratic activities. You'll oversee our Ideas Platform and work closely with sabbatical officers and teams across UAL to keep these spaces student-led and relevant. You'll also be the operational lead for our student elections - from technical set-up to support candidates and making sure everything runs fairly and transparently. You'll help develop policies, run training sessions, promote democratic engagement, and be the go-to person for students with questions about how the SU represents students. It's a varied role that puts students at the hear of decision-making while making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Who we are looking for

We want someone who's organised, flexible and great at juggling different projects. You should have experience with governance or working in democratic or community settings, and you'll need to be comfortable explaining processes in simple ways. Communication is key - you'll need to be confident with communicating with diverse groups of students and staff both, face-to-face and in writing. We want someone who's positive, approachable and a team player who is happy to collaborate. You'll understands the importance of what equality and diversity means for our students to help create welcoming spaces for everyone as well as ensuring they feel included and heard.

• Possess either some qualification in Economics, or clear evidence of equivalent professional expertise.
• Hold experience in a senior leadership policy, research, advocacy, or campaigning role
• Thrive in communicating an organisation's mission across all mediums, including public speaking and live media interviews
• Excel in building trusted relationships with the likes of government, civil society, academia and grassroots movements
• Possess robust financial acumen, with experience overseeing budgets, ensuring sustainability, and cultivating and stewarding funding relationships
