The Senior Philanthropy Advisor will play a central role in stewarding the Foundation's expanding portfolio of donor-advised funds, working closely with high-net-worth individuals, families, corporates and long-term philanthropic partners. This newly created role is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on building meaningful relationships, offering exceptional donor care, and helping funders connect with the local causes that matter most to them.

The postholder will manage and deepen relationships with fundholders, ensuring high-quality account management, timely reporting, and warm and effective engagement that inspires continued and increasing support. They will work closely with donors to understand their philanthropic motivations and match them with impactful community organisations. Alongside donor relations, the Senior Philanthropy Advisor will be responsible for coordinating donor-advised grantmaking in partnership with the Foundation's Grants Team. There will also be potential to line manage in this role.

We are looking for a personable individual who enjoys meeting different types of people, listens with curiosity, and builds trust through excellent communication and relationship-management skills. You will bring strong administration, organisational ability and CRM experience, with the confidence to juggle competing priorities in a small, friendly and collaborative team. While experience in donor stewardship or grantmaking is desirable it is not essential.

Community Engagement Officer

This role is a FT maternity cover contract over a 15 month period, 38.75 hours pw with some weekend and evening working included. Overseen by our Head of Fundraising, this role primarily covers running the Shelters events alongside supervising our  non animal related Volunteers overseeing the running of our two Charity shops , actively recruiting and managing new corporate sponsors and donors including our Helping Hands offering and attending general networking events.

A full description of the role is below. There is a six month probationary period and the rate of pay will be £13.25 ph plus other staff benefits including a work place pension and company sick pay.   

This role will suit an enthusiastic, hardworking, self-motivated individual who  likes a split of indoor and outdoor working. A practical individual the applicant must be confident and personable dealing with all types of people. A full driving licence is required and an immediate start would be preferred with a closing date of 30th November 2025.

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Title: Community Engagement Officer

Responsible to: Head of Fundraising

Post Objective: Working under the direction of the Head of Fundraising, to take responsibility for any community engagements. This being Corporate led commitments, events and management of Volunteers and the Charity Shops.

Responsibilities :-

• Work effectively as part of the Management team reporting directly to the Head of Fundraising to ensure that the Shelter is run in accordance with the instructions of the Board of Trustees.

• In conjunction with the Head of Fundraising and Fundraising team promote a range of fundraising events and functions on behalf of the shelter throughout the year including regular weekend activities, working closely with and involving other members of the management team, other staff and volunteers. Look after the entire life cycle of each event from initial enquiry/plan to completion.

· In conjunction with the Head of Fundraising and Fundraising team oversee regular Corporate groups attending the shelter, encouraging them to fundraise beforehand and afterwards. Support and lead their CSR day at the shelter.

· Responsible for the acquisition of new corporate partners and the effective stewardship and development of existing corporate relationships to maximise long-term support for the organisation.

 · Take the lead on any General Shelter talks within the local community.

· Collaborate with the Education team and support them with workshops where requested and relevant.

· Manage and oversee events on the day of happening, including problem solving, welcoming guests/supporters, directing event set-up, communicating with staff and organizing vendors. Ensure all event equipment such as gazebo’s, tables, chairs, information stand, marketing materials, etc are available and loaded onto vehicles the night before and then unloaded when returned.

• Communicate with other members of the Fundraising team to create effective advertisements for each event, creating paper based items such as posters and information or for the website/Facebook online advertisements for individual events., leaflets and online advertisement.

• Anticipate and plan for different scenarios and where necessary plan multiple events at once.

· Have overall responsibility for the promotion and performance of the onsite and offsite Charity Shops liaising regularly with and managing the Onsite Shop Supervisor and offsite Shop Manager. Ensure that the EPOS system incorporating the Retail Gift Aid process works correctly and captures GA where possible.

· Actively promote and coordinate the collection of items for fundraising recycling, via the individual Charity Shops.

· Coordinate the distribution, collection and careful recording of money spinners , individual money collection tins and food collection bins.

· Pro-actively seek out new collection sites and times, gaining local council licences where necessary and be involved and co-ordinate these. Includes street collections ( Christmas and Race week)  via Cheltenham Borough Council, Pets At Home store collections and regular supermarket collections.

· Ensure events are well manned by Volunteers and as much support is given as possible to all activities profiling the Shelter.

· Post and monitor adverts for and then recruit and induct new Volunteers for various non animal related roles as demand dictates within the Shelter.

· Monitor, encourage and support those volunteers in all aspects of daily life within both the Shelter and at all external events.

· Record regular hours of all Volunteers, hold thank you events and organise recognition certificates for long service Volunteers.

· Attend various Networking events to make new contacts and keep up to date with all local and national Volunteering groups and news.

· Promote the Animal Shelter in a positive and pro-active manner by improving systems and methods and provide an exemplary lead to staff.

· Provide excellent customer care when in contact with members of the public, supporters, sponsors ,and other’s presenting a professional image at all times.

· Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the General Manager, Operations Manager or Head of Fundraising

Job Title: Individual Giving Officer

• Working Hours: 23.25 hours per week. 15-month contract

1. Purpose of the Role

• Working with the Head of Fundraising develop programmes for the recruitment and retention of individual supporters.

• Maximise income across channels including direct mail, email, social media. Working with other team members to deliver this.

• Grow income stream from individual giving products such as appeals, raffles, lotteries and other individual giving products, such as our Pet Pen Sponsorship.

• Develop budgets and business plans and contribute to fundraising strategy. 

• Manage and optimise supporter experience for retention, engagement, and cross-marketing. 

• Analyse appeal results for continual improvement.

2. Principle Tasks

• Oversee the annual individual giving fundraising calendar and campaigns from start to finish.

• Plan and manage direct marketing and digital appeals, including supplier coordination.

• Conduct market research and maintain awareness of trends to inform innovation.

• Prepare budgets and monitor performance.

• Develop donor recruitment campaigns.

• Develop supporter journeys.

• Develop warm programmes.

• Write fundraising copy, providing guidance on design to artworkers. Work with local studio artists and internal staff to produce final materials.

• Coordinate with PR, comms, and other departments on campaign messaging and execution.

• Analyse campaign performance and produce evaluation insights.

• Ensure compliance with GDPR, Data Protection law, DMA, and fundraising codes of practice.

Playskill is a Hertfordshire based charity supporting pre-school children with physical disabilities & delays and their families. Across two sites in Watford and Hemel Hempstead, our work helps to build family resilience in the pivotal early years of a child’s life. Our specialist early intervention work delivering multi-disciplinary therapeutic play sessions, parent training/modelling, family social respite events and family support provides holistic family centred work aiming to build foundational skills for life

The Family Support Lead will coordinate our Family Support service across all locations providing holistic support to families of children with a physical disability/delay living in Hertfordshire, always keeping close adherence to best Safeguarding practice and procedures.

The role involves working with the Head of Family Service and Operations and Head of Development to develop the Support Worker team to deliver high quality family support. This may mean supporting families in group settings, family centres or in the home and holding caseloads with a holistic view in how to best meet need. Working closely with local stakeholders (including but not limited to schools, family hubs, social care, health and other voluntary sector organisations), the wider Playskill team and families, this role will deliver family-centred practice, ensuring positive outcomes for families.

We are looking for someone who has an understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and the challenges to navigate education, welfare and health systems. They will need to understand the needs of families and be able to work collaboratively.

The role will be responsible for the integration of our Support Worker team and family support services, ensuring best practice and identifying training needs as they arise.

You must be well organised and able to demonstrate the ability to develop strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. As a self-starter, you will be able to use your own initiative, can problem solve and prioritise, with good planning and organisational skills. You will be expected to manage your weekly diary ensuring you are offering timely, quality support across our sites and within the community. MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB:

To provide first line support to the Fundraising Team across a wide range of projects and activities. You will be the first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries, you will play an essential role in making supporters feel welcomed and valued, ensuring their interaction with the charity results in a positive experience every time.

Responsibilities:

Donor Stewardship & Communications

• Ensure timely and personalised acknowledgements (thank you letters and certificates) are sent to donors.
• Review and improve the thank and stewardship programme to enhance donor satisfaction and retention, sharing best practice across the team.

Supporter Engagement & Enquiries

• Co-ordinate incoming fundraising enquiries and fulfil or allocate them to the appropriate team members, ensuring prompt and professional responses and exceptional customer service.
• Provide direct responses to supporter enquiries where appropriate, maintaining a high standard of communication and service.

Regular Giving Programme

• Support fulfilment and progress updates related to the Sponsor a Puppy programme.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you bring relevant experience managing income generation products from start to finish, specifically within the context of product marketing, fundraising campaigns and/or fundraising events.

You are enthusiastic, proactive, and commercially aware, with a proven track record in delivering multi-channel customer journeys, managing, and executing projects, and presenting to both internal and external stakeholders.

With a solid understanding of marketing and/or fundraising (including insight, customer journeys and marketing communications), you are knowledgeable about content management systems and customer databases. 

Your excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills are complemented by your experience in budget management and your understanding of line management principles and practices.

Working arrangements 

We currently have two opportunities available: one permanent contract and one fixed-term contract to cover a secondment until 5 May 2026.

This is a hybrid role, where your work will be split between your home and at least one day per week, on average, in our London Office. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.    

There will be a requirement for flexible out of hours working to support occasional evening and weekend activity. You will be compensated for this with time off in lieu.

About the Role

The Supporter Care Administrator helps ensure every supporter feels valued, inspired and well looked after. You will be the first point of contact for donors, manage enquiries with warmth and professionalism, and support the smooth processing of donations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering excellent supporter care via phone, email and post

• Preparing and sending personalised thank-you messages

• Stewarding supporters to maximise engagement and fundraising potential

• Maintaining accurate donor records on the CRM (Beacon)

• Processing donations, Gift Aid and supporter data

• Supporting fundraising campaigns, appeals and stewardship events

• Providing general administrative support across the Fundraising team

• Liaising with Finance to process purchase orders and invoices

• Assisting with fulfilment of fundraising materials and online shop orders

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has experience in supporter care or customer service

• Has strong administrative skills and excellent attention to detail

• Is confident working with CRM systems or databases

• Communicates clearly and warmly, both verbally and in writing

• Is proactive, organised and able to manage multiple tasks

• Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team

Experience within the charity or fundraising sector is desirable but not essential. Beacon CRM experience is also a bonus.

About the role

We are looking to recruit a talented Business Support Officer to join the Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement (P&A) team at King’s College London.

The Business Support Officer provides crucial and comprehensive support for the Business Operations team to help ensure the continued success and evolution of the department. It is a fast-paced and varied post that will offer operational and administrative support to cover a diverse range of tasks, from planning and delivering team engagement activity, through to recruitment and onboarding, to supporting on financial analysis and reporting. They work closely with the Business Manager KCL Philanthropy and the People & Talent Manager but will also be a part of the wider Business Operations unit that ensures P&A is an efficiently and smoothly functioning unit.

As a significant part of the role, the postholder will be working closely with the Business Manager to support the work of the Philanthropy teams. The role will work with frontline fundraisers, as well as colleagues across the Department, to support in the processes and administration involved in cultivating and securing philanthropic gifts. They will also play a key role in supporting the Business Manager to drive forward important engagement and coordination across the Philanthropy team. In doing so, they will help support the creation of a high performing culture and allow fundraisers to focus on maximising philanthropic opportunities.

The Business Support Officer will also work closely with the People & Talent Manager, supporting in areas such as recruitment process, developing and organising training programmes and opportunities, and generally supporting on work to create an excellent working environment. This will cover activity in the Philanthropy teams and also more broadly across P&A.

The role will suit an ambitious self-starter who can co-ordinate and manage projects and processes across a variety of work areas within business operations, being motivated by working with both people and data. Someone who can build strong relationships across teams to ensure that ways of working are optimised to support our fundraising efforts and our wider department. And someone who will embrace working in a role that requires a degree of autonomy, in the context of a team that prides itself on its open, friendly, and supportive culture.

This is a full-time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract for 12 months. P&A has a hybrid working approach, with a minimum of 40% of time in the office. Typically, this equates to two days per week, but we’re very happy for colleagues to be in more frequently if they so wish.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

• An ability to build strong working relationships, with the ability to collaborate effectively as well as working as part of a large team set-up
• Proven success of good stakeholder management, and comfortable working and communicating with a wide range of individuals, including senior leaders
• Ability to prioritise, manage conflicting deadlines, work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks to deadline
• Highly organised and process-orientated with strong attention to detail
• Proven ability to own activities and manage own workload
• High level of IT literacy, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including the use of databases
• Proven ability to synthesise large amounts of information from a variety of sources, interpret and present clearly

Desirable criteria

• Knowledge and experience of fundraising and working in a fundraising operation. Familiarity with basic fundraising principles and strategies
• Knowledge of a Fundraising Database (e.g. Raiser’s Edge)
• Experience with advising or supporting on people related processes

The African Gifted Foundation (AGF) exists to develop Africa's future STEM leaders by supporting gifted young women to access world-class education. Our flagship project, the African Science Academy (ASA) in Ghana, is a fully-scholarshipped boarding school focused on mathematics and physics, with students drawn from across Africa.

We're at a pivotal moment. Having grown to circa £1 million in annual income, we're ready to scale our impact. We are embarking on an exciting new initiative to build a new campus and double the size of our school over the next couple of years. We need an exceptional fundraising leader to help us get there.

The Opportunity

As Head of Fundraising, you'll be a key member of our senior leadership team, shaping strategy and driving income growth to transform opportunities for hundreds more young African women in STEM.

In your first year, you'll:

• Take ownership of our £1m fundraising portfolio and develop a clear growth strategy
• Deepen relationships with our existing major donors, trusts and corporate partners
• Identify and secure at least 3-5 significant new funding partnerships
• Build robust systems for pipeline management, donor stewardship and impact reporting
• Work closely with our Executive Director and Board to align fundraising with our ambitious expansion plans

What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and deliver a compelling fundraising strategy aligned with AGF's growth ambitions
• Set ambitious but achievable income targets and manage performance against them
• Provide clear metrics, insights and recommendations to the Executive Director and Board
• Identify opportunities for income diversification and risk mitigation

Major Donor & Partnership Management

• Manage and grow our portfolio of major donors, trusts, foundations and corporate partners
• Personally cultivate and steward high-value relationships
• Identify and pursue new funding prospects through research and networking
• Develop compelling cases for support tailored to different donor segments

Operational Excellence

• Establish and maintain effective systems for pipeline management, CRM and donor tracking
• Ensure excellent donor stewardship, reporting and compliance with all funder requirements
• Create compelling donor materials and impact reports, working collaboratively with communications, programmes and finance teams 
• Take responsibility for collecting compelling impact data, including through liaising with alumni
• Build efficient processes that support both immediate delivery and long-term growth

Representation & Advocacy

• Represent AGF at donor meetings, events and in philanthropic networks (UK and occasionally international)
• Act as an ambassador for our mission and impact
• Build AGF's profile within the UK and international education funding community

Who You Are

Essential Experience & Skills

✓ Proven track record of strategic fundraising in the UK charity sector, with demonstrable success in securing five-figure+ gifts from trusts, foundations and major donors

✓ Relationship builder with excellent ability to engage, persuade and steward high-value donors at senior levels (trustees, HNWIs, corporate decision-makers)

✓ Strategic thinker who can develop compelling fundraising strategies and turn them into practical action plans with measurable results

✓ Portfolio manager experienced in managing multiple major donor relationships simultaneously and building a robust pipeline

✓ Excellent communicator in writing and speaking - confident presenting to trustees, corporates and philanthropic audiences

✓ Organized & commercially aware with ability to manage budgets, set targets and deliver against KPIs

✓ Self-starter comfortable working in a lean organization, building processes, and collaborating across teams

✓ Mission-driven with genuine commitment to expanding STEM opportunities for African young women and cultural awareness of the international context

Highly Desirable

• Experience with international education or development fundraising, especially Africa-focused projects

• Experience of USA fundraising
