With the end of bear bile farming in Vietnam now within reach, Animals Asia is entering an exciting new phase – expanding sanctuary capacity, entering new markets, and securing long-term care for every rescued bear.

Animals Asia has spent over 25 years working to end cruelty and restore respect for animals across Asia. With teams in Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, the UK, and beyond, they combine advocacy, direct rescue, and sanctuary care to create systemic change. Their mission to end bear bile farming – arguably the world’s cruelest form of animal abuse – is almost complete. In November 2023, they opened their third bear sanctuary which will enable them to bring home every last bear and achieve their founding goal in Vietnam by the end of 2026.

Their global fundraising and communications team is driven, well-structured, and rooted in the charity’s deeply held values. Income has been steadily rising since 2017 and they have the people, plans and investment to maintain this growth.

The Trusts and Foundations function has grown substantially since being unified globally in 2020. Income has more than doubled, donor relationships are well-managed, and new business is actively developed. With a 2024 target of $1.3m and strong pipeline visibility, this role focuses on securing and stewarding 5- and 6-figure multi-year partnerships, with particular scope for growth in the US and unrestricted giving.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled fundraiser to join a highly collaborative team and benefit from a structured, mature function where ambitious fundraising is supported and celebrated.

As Trusts and Foundations Manager, you will:

• Manage and grow a global portfolio of 5- and 6-figure funders, including multi-year partnerships
• Develop compelling, tailored funding proposals and impact reports, often for donors with limited direct project access
• Deliver high-quality stewardship, with regular updates and relationship-building through video, email, and occasional travel
• Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to develop powerful cases for support
• Lead on identifying and cultivating new prospective donors through research, network mapping, and strategy input
• Use CRM systems to manage pipelines and track communications effectively
• Support the Global Director of Partnerships and work closely with a peer Trusts and Foundations Manager

Ideal skills and experience:

• Proven success securing 5-figure+ grants from global trusts and foundations
• Strong written skills, with experience tailoring proposals to global funders and funder motivations
• A confident relationship-builder, who is able to do so remotely and across time zones and cultures
• Highly self-organised, independent, and comfortable managing deadlines and priorities
• Strong understanding of CRM systems and income tracking
• Familiar with the complexities of fundraising for work in Asia or global programme delivery

The Candidate
Proven track record of leading and implementing organisational or portfolio restructuring.

Experience in reviewing and restructuring grant portfolios to align with strategic goals.

We're looking for a passionate Marketing & Fundraising Executive to join our charity team and spearhead innovative strategies that will transform the lives of street dogs in Thailand.

Your role will be pivotal in representing and communicating everything Jai to Ministry of Sound Group partners, managing communications with our members, event partners, and other stakeholders, and keeping our website and blog vibrant and upto-date.

You will be developing marketing and fundraising strategies that inspire donors.

You'll support our Thai agency on public campaigns and the Regular Giving initiative, driving legacy programs that leave a lasting impact.

You will engage and retain one-off and regular donors through effective acquisition and stewardship, increasing donations and cultivating major donor relationships.

You'll oversee newsletters, website updates, and blog management and lead the Sponsor A Dog initiative, providing quarterly updates that will warm donors' hearts.

You will work to expand Jai’s presence on TikTok, YouTube, and other sites, leveraging your expertise in Google Ads and paid search. You will also maximize Jai’s corporate exposure through strategic LinkedIn postings.

Operationally, you'll develop and manage the CRM database, possess a solid understanding of WordPress and website SEO. Experience with Meta Business Manager and ad management would be ideal.

You will collaborate with The Ministry Marketing Manager on member communications and updates, supporting at events with enthusiasm and dedication.

Role overview: 

A pivotal senior position within the Legacy and In Memory Fundraising team, this role works closely with the Head of Legacy and In Memory Fundraising to lead key fundraising initiatives and stewardship efforts. Responsibilities include overseeing recruitment, staff development, and performance management, as well as contributing to strategic planning and budget oversight. The role also leads the delivery of a multi-channel legacy marketing programme and ensures external suppliers meet agreed service levels. The role will line manage two team members, take on broader leadership responsibilities within the department, and actively promote legacy giving across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Head of Legacy and In Memory Fundraising to shape and implement the overarching strategy and budget, with a key focus on expanding the supporter pipeline, increasing In Memory donations, and safeguarding long-term Legacy income.
• Offer expert advice and strategic input to design integrated, personalised supporter journeys that prioritise exceptional supporter experiences, drawing on industry best practices and working closely with internal teams and external agency partners.
• Lead the planning and delivery of multi-channel Legacy and In Memory fundraising campaigns—across acquisition and stewardship—including DRTV, press, print, and digital; monitor performance and report progress against defined KPIs and milestones.

• Deep expertise in all areas of Legacy and In-Memory fundraising, underpinned by strong knowledge and hands-on experience within the sector 
• Extensive track record of successfully managing multiple campaigns across various channels—meeting and exceeding revenue targets, crafting compelling copy, overseeing third-party suppliers, and using data insights effectively, all while ensuring full regulatory and compliance adherence
• Demonstrated success in strategic planning, execution, and management of fundraising strategies 
• Proven excellence as a highly organised and effective project manager, capable of leading multiple complex projects simultaneously while prioritising workload efficiently 
• Strong financial management capabilities, including experience in budget management, creating spending plans, and delivering accurate financial reporting 
• Outstanding leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams, as well as effectively managing external partners such as media and digital agencies, and internal service teams
