The Cyber Helpline is a fast-growing, innovative charity that supports individuals impacted by cybercrime, digital fraud and online harm. As we enter our next stage of growth, we are seeking a senior operational leader to transform, scale and strengthen our Helpline service.
The Head of Helpline and Service Delivery will provide strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of service delivery - people, processes, quality, tooling and innovation. This role is accountable for the overall performance, resilience and impact of the Helpline, ensuring we offer exceptional trauma-informed and victim/survivor-centred support across channels.
This is an executive role requiring someone who can operate strategically while staying close to operational realities. Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Service Direction

Requirements

About the role

As a senior community fundraiser, you’ll be an important part of the team building Breast Cancer Now’s presence in Scotland, with a particular focus on Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.
We’re looking for someone who is an experienced relationship builder, someone who can find and develop new supporters. You’ll need excellent local knowledge, and the enthusiasm to develop a brand-new fundraising region.
The successful candidate will also be part of the team working on our large-scale project supporting and growing Asda Tickled Pink, our award-winning partnership with Asda and CoppaFeel! which has already raised over £100 million.
You’ll work directly with passionate colleagues across Asda stores in your region driving new fundraising initiatives, inspiring communities and celebrating incredible successes.
No 2 days will look the same as you travel, connect and engage supporters to help us grow income to deliver our mission.

Primary location of role
This is a remote role, and the candidate will need to be based in the Edinburgh area with unlimited access to their own car. Regular travel will be required to meet supporters and visit Asda stores in your region, as well as occasional travel to our London, Sheffield or Glasgow office.

JOB PURPOSE
The Director of Fundraising and Development (Maternity Cover) will provide strategic leadership and direction across all fundraising and income-generating activities, ensuring the charity continues to deliver against its financial objectives and accelerates long-term, sustainable growth across our philanthropic, public, and commercial income streams.
You will bring strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to equip, support, and empower the team through a period of organisational change. You will help the team optimise and make the most of the new organisational strategy, embedding strategic focus, effective decision-making, and collaborative leadership practices across the fundraising leadership group.
You will use your commercial acumen and fundraising expertise to identify opportunities and support the team to recognise, shape, and pursue them confidently and effectively, enabling them to take ownership and drive progress across all income streams. Summary job description
As the Director of Programme Performance, you will be pivotal in leading a team responsible for the design, implementation, and management of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems. SCEC was founded over twenty years ago to provide learning enrichment opportunities to primary school children in disadvantaged communities in south London. The Scheme Director is a newly created role that will be pivotal in helping SCEC extend its reach. This is a hands-on, pioneering role. You’ll help shape the infrastructure, recruit and lead a small squad of caseworkers, and ensure that everyone in the bereaved military community receives compassionate, personalised, and well-coordinated support.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Graduate in Business Administration, Law, Human Resources, Public Policy, Public Administration, Sociology, or other relevant fields.
- Master’s Degree in a related field.

MAIN DUTIES AND TASKS
Management
- Line manage Finance Manager and Human Resources Manager.
- Schedule regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports, provide guidance on division of tasks, and monitor workload.
- Support direct reports in the implementation of Finance and HR strategy.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance for ELSC entities in the Netherlands, Britain, and Germany.
- Ensure Dutch insurance compliance and associated operational requirements.
- Review and monitor payroll monthly.
- Lead the establishment of a German legal entity, working with external advisors as needed.
- Oversee the British office operations, including the evaluation of office space.
- Conduct a review of office costs and usage.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the Senior Legal Committee where needed, including facilitation and documentation.
Staff Coordination
- Plan and oversee the in-person all-staff gathering (2026) in coordination with the ELSC executive management team.
- Coordinate the logistics of annual departmental gatherings.
- Organise Work Team gatherings, supporting cross-departmental collaboration.
- Support the Director of Operations (DOD) with facilitation and agenda development for internal meetings.
- Facilitate 50% of Remote All-Staff Meetings (60min, weekly).
- Support the coordination of Monthly Staff Assemblies.
People & HR
- Oversee HR policy implementation and delivery of the annual People Strategy.
- Support the HR Manager in leading HR operations and in the recruitment and induction of new staff.
- Oversee the development of an Organisational Handbook.
- Review and improve the performance review process.
- Establish promotion guidelines to create transparent career progression pathways.
- Maintain and update the Organisational Chart quarterly.
- Review the Organisational Wiki (“The Fridge”) yearly.
Finance
- Oversee ELSC financial operations.
- Support the Finance Manager, providing oversight and strategic direction.
- Ensure effective operation of the Finance Committee, led by the Finance Manager.
- Review and distribute monthly financial reports to Department Heads via the Finance Committee.
- Ensure monthly financial summaries are reported to Work Teams through the Senior Legal Committee.
- Oversee completion of the organisational audit.
- Support short-term investment strategies.
- Monitor and report on operational budgets, ensuring accountability and fiscal responsibility across departments.
- Liaise and coordinate with the ELSC Treasurer Board member.
Training
- Standardise training and qualifications frameworks across departments to ensure transparency, fairness, and consistency in line with the ELSC Pay & Benefits Scale.
- Lead investment in staff training and development initiatives to strengthen organisational capacity.
- Support the qualification and professional development of junior legal staff through structured learning pathways in three jurisdictions with the support of the Director of the Legal Department.
Salary: £58,504.00 per annum plus a company car

Be confident navigating complex organisations and influencing senior stakeholders, you’ll also offer robust project management and property operations expertise, from shop openings to system rollouts. With over 200 staff members and 2000 volunteers across 80 shops, spanning community, furniture and boutique outlets – our central team of 20 supports shop colleagues to maximise income and profitability to fuel Shelter’s fight for home.
