Location: Remote within England with some travel to London
Salary: £45,000 per annum

The Role

LEGACY PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER (LONDON AND SOUTH-EAST ENGLAND)

Location: Home-based/Field based covering London and South-East England. Candidates need to be based in this region or within 20 miles of patch due to business need. • Prepare quarterly VAT returns with reconciliations and reporting. Line management, objective setting and performance reviews for direct report.
• Establish and maintain a robust internal controls environment that is fit for purpose but uses a risk-based approach to the establishment of processes and procedures.

Personal Specification

• You will need to show;
• Experience Substantial experience in a finance or accounting role (including at management level) in a not-for profit organisation.

• Substantial experience in processing monthly payroll using QuickBooks Payroll and Sage Payroll.

Sex Education Forum was founded in 1987 and became an independent charity in 2021. We convene over 70 Partner organisations, working together to make sure that the relationships and sex education (RSE) young people get is right for them. We influence national policy, are a respected voice in the media and contribute to ground-breaking research on RSE. Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. As well as acting as an ear to their partners and alerting them to sounds, the charity’s clever and expertly trained dogs help deaf people to live life with confidence and independence, whilst providing love, companionship and emotional support.

Following on from a strategic review, the charity is now looking to build a new Income Generation Directorate, to enable them to transform many more lives across the UK. The Head of Philanthropy will play a central role in this growth, helping Hearing Dogs deliver their goals to diversify income, expand their philanthropy programme and increase engagement and impact.

The role will be responsible for developing and implementing a multi-year major donor strategy to grow income and build a robust pipeline of supporters. You will personally manage a portfolio or high-value prospects and donors, and will lead on bespoke cultivation and stewardship plans, ensuring that all the charity’s donor engagement is tailored, strategic and high-impact. The role also offers a rare chance to build your own high-performing team, recruiting, managing and supporting the development of Principal Gifts and Major Giving members of staff. 

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in personally securing six figure + gifts from individual donors, as well as a background in major donor fundraising, philanthropy or private wealth engagement.  You will have experience of working with senor stakeholders and possess strong relationship management and interpersonal skills. Previous experience of successfully establishing a philanthropy and special events function from scratch in a charity setting would be advantageous.

The Head of Individual Giving will be responsible for the strategic development of the NT’s individual giving programmes. This includes the overall management of memberships (£84 - £600), Patron programmes (£1,500 - £12,000), audience appeals, legacies, and special events.

The post holder will manage a team of seven ambitious fundraisers and actively solicit gifts themselves, often working with volunteers, to generate in excess of £5m p.a. from individual donors. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the visibility and success of the National Theatre’s public fundraising and will create a strategy for delivering ambitious growth in this area.

The successful candidate will have the following: 

• Successful and personal fundraising track record in securing five-figure gifts from individuals
• Excellent communication skills, including experience of writing powerful copy
• Demonstrable experience of budget setting and monitoring
• Experience of staff recruitment, management and appraising
• A track record in identifying and maintaining senior level internal and external relationships
• Knowledge of Gift Aid and other tax effective giving mechanisms

Location: UK hybrid working – a minimum of 40 % of working time is spent face‑to‑face (London office in Canary Wharf, external meetings or travel).

As our Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will manage new and existing corporate partnerships and our payroll giving scheme to foster powerful partnerships that drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will:

• Proactively manage new and existing corporate partners, ensuring that each partner is appropriately supported and is reaching its full potential.
• Manage WaterAid’s Payroll Giving scheme including managing relationships with Professional Fundraising Organisations and Payroll Giving Agencies.
• Monitor partner-funded programme KPIs and budgets and ensure high quality reporting.
• Work with and make presentations to a range of contact types within our corporate partners.
• Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• Education to degree level or equivalent work experience in relevant areas.
• A track record of Partnership Management including proven experience of growing and developing partnerships with companies.
• Experience of writing high quality and engaging proposals and reports for a corporate audience as well as experience of making presentations to senior level contacts and / or large groups of employees.
• Able to forge effective working relationships with people at all levels inside and outside the organisation and across a range of industries and differing business cultures. 

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

• Knowledge of international development and understanding of overseas development issues.
• Experience of developing corporate accounts over £100,000.
• Experience of Payroll Giving scheme.
