The Parish Support Team provide a first point of contact and act as a resource and information hub that serves the needs of our churches and communities. The team is also responsible for governance and pastoral planning at every level of the Diocesan structure.

The Organisation
The Winchester Diocesan Board of Finance (WDBF) is a Charitable Company established under the Diocesan Boards of Finance Measure 1925. All dioceses of the Church of England are required to have a Diocesan Board of Finance (DBF) to act as the link between the episcopal, synodical, and secular governance and leadership structures.
The WDBF’s principal object is to promote, assist and advance the work of the Church of England in the Diocese of Winchester, by acting as the financial executive of the Winchester Diocesan Synod.

Role and Responsibilities:
You will be part of the busy Parish Support Team led by the Assistant Diocesan Secretary (Parish Support).
The Data and Statistics Analysist will play a vital role in supporting the parishes and communities of our Diocese through the collection, analysis, and management of data and statistics in connection with congregations, finances, and community impact. This role requires a highly organised and detail-oriented individual with a passion for data management and a commitment to using information to inform decision-making and strategic planning within the diocese.
The main responsibilities of this varied position are data collection and management, statistical analysis and reporting, strategic planning support, database maintenance and development, providing training and support to diocesan staff and parishes and acting as a point of contact for data-related inquires as well as ensuring all data handlining processes are in compliance with relevant data protection legislation and diocesan privacy policies.

The heart of our mission is to make music truly inclusive for people with physical impairments and in this role you will be driving forward the development and delivery of adapted musical instruments. It is creative, purposeful work and we are looking for someone who cares deeply about the impact that music can have.
Our team is looking for someone who lives and breathes our passion as much as we do and will put the work (and the miles) into bringing our mission to life. You will do this through:
- Developing a strategic approach in how we can increase the range of instruments and supportive apparatus available, working with instrument makers and technologists where necessary.
- Identifying potential entrants for our OHMI Competition, which is where we challenge developers and instrument makers to adapt or create instruments that can be played without the use of one hand and arm.
- Supporting our OHMI Music-makers, a project that works with partner organisations to bring music lessons to individual students or a whole class by providing adapted instruments.
- Making sure we are communicating with our funders and Board of Trustees about our progress and impact.
And as a key member of the team, you will support us in promoting our great work at various key conferences and workshops.
No two days look the same here at the OHMI Trust, but a week could look like this:
· Arranging meetings with student groups working on instrument related engineering projects.
· Joining an online meeting to develop the strategy for overcoming a specific instrument production challenge.
· Writing an application for funding towards the next instrument/piece of equipment that is needed.
Hours: 18.75 per week, but flexible. Some weekend and evening work will be expected, as circumstances and opportunities require. This post is subject to a 6-month probation period.
Location: flexible within the UK – this is a home/remote working role but there will be travel throughout the UK and there is an advantage in being located within easy commuting distance of the West Midlands, where the rest of the staff are currently based.

The role

Financial management
In relation to the financial management of the Charity’s funds, you will ensure designated named funds comply with governance requirements and are utilised in accordance with their Terms of Reference. In relation to the financial management of individually funded projects, you will monitor spend against budgets through accountability mechanisms agreed with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust finance team. The postholder will be an integral part of the Charity finance team and partake in the annual budget setting process to the extent budgets relate to the Charity’s designated named funds or individually funded projects.
As part of your role in the financial management of individually funded projects, you will act a finance business partner to the broader Charity. You will be integral in liaising with fundraising teams to ensure the Charity is aware of new projects, live projects, and projects which have ended to help inform fundraising activities.
Financial control and governance
You will play a key role in ensuring robust financial control across the Charity group, with the opportunity to take ownership of its two wholly owned subsidiaries: The Christie Trading Company Limited and Northern Pathology Developments Limited. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for overseeing the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, supporting the Charity’s aim of maintaining strong governance across both charitable and commercial operations.
Your responsibilities will include reviewing the monthly balance sheets and income statements for both subsidiaries, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations are completed, and addressing any variances or discrepancies.

The Finance and Funds Business Partner is a newly created role that marks an exciting step in the Charity’s transition toward greater in-house financial management. Previously managed under a service level agreement with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, key aspects of financial management are now being brought into the organisation to strengthen control and governance.
Day-to-day financial transaction processing will continue to be delivered by The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, therefore, the postholder will be expected to work closely and collaboratively with their finance team to ensure seamless operations and continuity across the Charity group.
