As EA to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this role has a primary focus in providing comprehensive administrative support to the COO, in collaboration with the wider Directors’ office team and the COO’s direct reports.

They will be responsible for delivery of smart and strategic diary management for the COO and handling administrative tasks on the COO’s behalf. This role will provide varying levels of support for the Finance & Audit Committee, NT Food & Drink Board, Enterprises Board, and the Financial Planning Group. This will be done in close collaboration with the key contacts (internal and external), including, where appropriate, acting as central point for preparation of related papers, meeting scheduling; comprehensive minute-taking may also be required.

A key organisational focus over the next year will be delivery of substantive capital and improvement works. The EA will play a central and strategic role in the organisation and oversight of the related administrative complexities.

In addition to having primary responsibility to the COO, this role will provide administrative support to the Legal team, including invoice and expenses management, and diary co-ordination where required.

The successful candidate will have the following: 

• Considerable experience in an EA / PA or senior-level equivalent administrative capacity within an Executive environment (business or charity sector)
• Exceptional administrative and organisational skills, with a focus on complex and strategic diary management
• Excellent communication (in all mediums), interpersonal, and organisational skills, including building and maintaining key relationships in a senior space
• Proven experience in safeguarding sensitive and confidential information accordingly, with a core understanding of prioritisation
• Experience in formal minuting and report drafting

About the role

As Research, Impact and Evidence Senior Lead, you will set the strategic direction & lead the research and evidence agenda in the Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA), driving the localisation agenda and strategic objectives by championing the use of high-quality, locally generated evidence to inform policy and practice. You will be establishing mechanisms to demonstrate the impact of local leadership and collective action for a locally led response.

You will position the HLA as a global thought leader in humanitarian learning, leveraging robust research and evidence to advance locally led solutions, influence sectoral policies, and promote innovative practices. You will do so using research to produce insight into emerging and future trends within the sector from a capacity strengthening and learning perspective, shaping the HLA's strategic direction.

You will also strengthen the HLA's impact and evidence work at the portfolio level by enhancing systems and providing strategic technical support. This includes driving a culture of accountability and embedding robust evaluation practices into all HLA activities. You will be accountable for understanding and enhancing the HLA's results for learners, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring the organisation's work delivers impact against strategic objectives.

In this role, you will be responsible for: 

• Set direction and lead the development and implementation of the HLA's Impact, Research, and Evidence strategy to align with MEAL Frameworks, strategic objectives, and sectoral trends.

• Represent the HLA in evidence-focused global forums to promote thought leadership on humanitarian learning, locally led response, and innovation.

• Oversee the development, optimisation and performance of data platforms, including but not limited to the CRM to streamline integration between current HLA platforms to unlock greater insights. 

• Develop and manage strategic research partnerships with donors, INGOs, local partners, networks, academia, and stakeholders to expand HLA's influence and impact.

• Drive the design and delivery of localised research and evidence products that address evidence gaps within the capacity-strengthening and leadership ecosystem.

• Enhance the understanding and uptake of HLA's portfolio and associated platforms by monitoring insights, impact, and performance.

• Develop robust data management systems to track and monitor insights and performance against organisational goals.

• Embed the HLA's Theory of Change and results framework into team operations to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

• Advocate for locally led research in external forums, demonstrating the impact of HLA's capacity-strengthening efforts.

About you 

We are looking for someone with the following experience and skills:

• Significant experience in Research, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) within humanitarian or international development sectors and ability to work autonomously, setting direction for this area of work.

• Strong analytical skills with expertise in various research methodologies.

• Ability to design, implement, and improve MEAL systems, policies, and tools at various levels.

• Proven track record of leading and managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects within timelines and budgets.

• Senior managerial experience with a focus on fostering inclusive, high-performing team environments.

• Strong collaborative skills to engage with diverse stakeholders and achieve shared objectives.

• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, adaptable to diverse audiences and cultural contexts.

A vibrant church with a congregation of 1200+, we are passionate about connecting with and supporting people who are street homeless and those in or leaving local prisons.

As a city centre church, working alongside people who are poor or marginalised is a key part of our ministry and is carried out largely through Aldates Community Transformation Initiatives (ACT). ACT’s welcoming community offers support designed to help people find belonging, purpose and hope, which is carefully shaped to fit each individual’s needs. This includes street and prison outreach, community meals, mentoring and supported housing. 

ACT is a registered charity with a board of trustees drawn from within the church, including the Rector. We are a growing charity with seven salaried staff, and over 65 local volunteers. Staff are employed by St Aldates PCC and seconded to the ACT Charity.

At the heart of the charity is our ACT Family, a group of individuals living in our supported houses, and at varying stages of journeying towards independent living. We engage with these individuals on a relational basis through three main areas of support:

A community: regular opportunities to gather including a weekly breakfast and Bible study, small groups, social and vocational events, and an annual retreat.

A home: a safe, stable place in one of 11 ACT-managed properties in the city, and sustained 1:1 support from the team.

A mentor: regular sessions with a trained mentor to enable people to grow in confidence, skills and aspiration, including support to volunteer, study or find employment.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Progression Coordinator is responsible for engaging directly with our core ACT Family residents of supported ACT houses and inspiring their ongoing development. A large part of this will be helping them develop the skills needed so they can move towards living independently. 

 Key Duties

The role is split into two key areas:

Support, coaching and progression for individuals living in our ACT houses:

• Working alongside the Housing Manager to build relationships with the ACT Family
• Inspiring residents to explore a pathway towards independent living
• Establishing Personal Development Plans (PDPs) in response to the needs of each individual
• Administratively holding and monitoring the progress of the PDPs
• Conducting regular reviews with each resident and updating PDPs accordingly
• Giving regular progress reports to the Housing Manager and Head of ACT 
• Managing relationships with all mentors, including monitoring their engagement with the ACT Family and identifying any opportunities or risks
• Organising mentor training and events as required
• Identifying training and deploying new mentors as required
• Maintaining relationships with ACT Family members who are moving out of ACT houses, ensuring they are equipped and supported as they move on
• Providing ad-hoc cover and support for the Housing Manager as required (e.g. holiday and sickness cover, as well as picking up some day-to-day tasks if required)

Outward engagement into the wider community:

• Ongoing engagement and relationship-building with the wider housing and charity sector in and around Oxford
• Creating strategic industry connections that help implement the PDPs, including but not limited to private landlords and agencies able to support progression out of ACT houses 
• Building connections with local employers willing and able to train or employ the residents
• Developing connections with local educational and vocational organisations able to support the residents
• Managing relevant existing relationships with local agencies as required
• Developing an active understanding of issues related to housing in Oxford 
• Exploring and communicating any new initiatives or practices to support the role, or the wider activities of the charity

Person specification

Essential criteria

• Professional qualifications or professional experience in an area directly relevant to the role, e.g. Social Work, Occupational Health, Probation, Housing, Nursing/Mental Health, Therapy, Coaching
• Understanding of and experience working with marginalised adults, particularly former prisoners or homeless people
• Experience of managing projects and organising events
• Willingness to learn about housing, safeguarding, homelessness, rehabilitation of offenders, probation, state benefits, substance abuse, mental health and other relevant topics
• Experience of MS Office including One-Note, Teams or similar system
• Active Christian faith, willing to intercede for others and share your faith when appropriate
• Love and empathy for those who face poverty, hardship and other life challenges whilst maintaining essential boundaries
• Demonstrable ability to manage a varied workload and occasional remote work
• Ability to build relationships with people from all walks of life
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Able to maintain healthy boundaries whilst working as part of a close-knit team

The Philanthropy team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing donations from individual major donors, grant-making trusts and foundations. The role of Philanthropy Officer is key to the success of the Philanthropy team, working closely with other team members and stakeholders across ARUK.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Relationship building and income generation

· Build relationships with a portfolio of current and prospective major donors and charitable trusts, gauging their level of interest in our work, providing them with opportunities to engage with ARUK, and encouraging them to invest in our research.

· Develop an engagement plan for each relationship, taking full ownership and moving each donor / trust forward through qualification, solicitation and stewardship.

· Fundraise for different aspects of ARUK’s work, including key research initiatives such as the Drug Discovery Alliance.

· Think ambitiously and creatively in producing compelling and persuasive written communications for donors, including letters, proposals, applications and progress reports.

· Solicit donors for gifts at face-to-face meetings, where appropriate.

· Provide an exceptional level of stewardship to donors, ensuring they are thanked and updated and that their relationship with ARUK grows in depth and value.

· Think innovatively and support the team’s goal to embed the use of digital in our work.

· Work with senior volunteers and senior staff, where appropriate, empowering them to open their networks and ask for support.

· Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues in the Science Communications, Media and Engagement, Research and Finance teams.

CRM

· Ensure donor records are kept up-to-date through daily use of Salesforce.

· Use Salesforce to track income and activity, and as a planning tool.

Events

· Support the Donor Relations Manager in planning bespoke events / lab tours for our supporters, by providing guest lists, communicating with invitees and updating Salesforce records.

· Represent ARUK at Philanthropy team events, and at other ARUK events where major donors or the representatives of charitable trusts may be attending.

We are looking for a 12-month maternity cover Commercial Marketing Manager to join our team to lead the planning and delivery of the RSPB's commercial marketing activity. Reporting into the Head of Commercial, this role will focus on supporting our Commercial functions including our reserve Visitor Operations, eCommerce, Trade and Product Licensing.

Whether it is leading national campaigns to drive footfall to our key visitor sites, working with our visitor experience consultants to promote events on reserves, driving sales through our online shop or maximising the value of our licensed products, your expertise will help drive both income and engagement for the RSPB.

• Experience of financial compliance including demonstrable experience of actively setting and managing budgets, preparing cashflow projections and working with financial reports – this experience is likely to have been gained over at least 3 years’ active, first-hand participation.

• Demonstrate clear understanding of Charity Code and governance obligations including Charity Commission requirements and charity law.
