Job description

The Snowdon Trust believes that everyone must have the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

We provide financial grants and practical support to help students meet additional disability-related study costs so that they are not financially disadvantaged compared to non-disabled peers. We also provide scholarships to exceptional disabled students to accelerate them into leadership positions that they are too often absent from.

Through our Disabled Leaders Network, we provide a platform for peer support, collaboration and leadership development for Snowdon alumni.

We want to appoint a Fundraising Manager to our core team for the first time. The Trust has a new Chief Executive – also a highly experienced fundraiser – who is building the team to support and deliver our new strategy.  You will join a small but passionate team of staff and volunteers who share great expertise and care deeply about the needs of our client group. Ideally you'll be able to come into the office at least some of the time, but we are flexible about location for the right candidate.

We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, well-organised and articulate Fundraising Manager to develop and deliver our new fundraising strategy. You will build on the strong relationships we already have with a small but committed group of Trust and Corporate supporters to create new multi-year partnerships and begin to diversify our work to incorporate individual and major gifts.

Work has already begun to create a new framework for the management of our fundraising relationships, and you will build on this to ensure that the Snowdon Trust fundraising life cycle is robust across research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.  Crucially, you will champion a donor-centric approach across all the Trust’s work.

Our new strategy for 2021-2025 sets out our ambition to grow the impact of our programmes and ensure that we have the right organisational framework in place to deliver our objectives.  It is a pivotal time to get involved and leading our ambitious fundraising plans will be an exciting and career-strengthening opportunity.

We do not underestimate the scale of work ahead, but you have the full support of a fundraising CEO who will roll up her sleeves and help, offering both strategic and practical support as you develop the fundraising strategy.  Together you will set realistic (but ambitious!) timescales and targets and ensure you have the appropriate resources in place to deliver the Trust’s fundraising objectives.

You will need to demonstrate good fundraising or transferrable experience in at least one of the key growth areas for the Trust and this role will suit you well if you enjoy a busy and demanding workload and can manage multiple projects.  You will need to have good organisational and detailed planning skills.  Most important though, will be your brilliant inter-personal skills, your ability to tell a story, and your commitment to empowering disabled students who face too many unnecessary obstacles.

We believe that people with lived experience of disability should be involved in guiding and shaping our work and this is reflected among our board, our selection panel and our staff. We are a Disability Confident Committed employer and are committed to offering an interview to any disabled applicant who meets the core person specification.

This is initially offered as a part-time, permanent appointment. We offer a competitive salary, excellent conditions of employment including a pension scheme and generous holiday entitlement.
