Since 2021, IRC UK has also provided integration services directly to refugees in England, a programme that is rapidly growing.
IRC Education Programming UK
IRC has been delivering education programmes in the UK since May 2022. This consists of the Healing Classrooms Programme (and its various iterations) and the Healing Spaces programme. The Healing Classrooms programme delivers trauma-informed training to schools and teachers to help them better support refugee and asylum-seeking students. The Healing Spaces programme is similar but provides training to volunteers and staff that support refugee and asylum-seeking youth outside of school settings.
The Purpose of the Role
Key Working Relationships:
The position reports to the Education Manager, UK. The position supervises the Education Officer. The Senior Education Officer also works closely with and receives technical guidance from RAI education technical units and the senior integration officer, as well as the grant management team.
Key Accountabilities
Programme design and delivery
-
Lead Healing Classrooms design processes that ensure programmes are aligned to IRC’s Outcomes to Evidence framework, evidence-based, and appropriate to context to maximize impact.

Lead on the delivery of all Healing Classrooms programmes, including in-person and online.

Take an innovative and leading role in creating resources and webpage updates.

Continue to improve and adapt the Healing Classrooms programme to meet the needs of schools, councils, and educators in the UK.
Coordination and management

Manage the Healing Classrooms Education Officer.

Meet regularly with staff, and partners to assess progress toward objectives, discuss issues and assist in finding solutions to identified challenges.

Update the education manager regularly on progress.

Analyse data emerging from the education program and ensure that this analysis informs programming.

Engage effectively with IRC staff (comms, procurement etc.) to ensure effective delivery and promotion of the programme.
External Relations

Develop effective working relationships with key partners – including NGOs
and civil society, public authorities at the national and local levels and education institutions.

Identify and develop strategic partnerships with UK partners for education programming

Support in the development of new business opportunities to allow the portfolio to grow and develop;
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
-
Progressively responsible relevant work experience, esp. in the implementation of education projects in support of asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants

Solid understanding of the UK education system and challenges for students with immigrant backgrounds.

Experience teaching in a UK school is preferred but not essential.

Professional written and oral communication skills in English

Experience crafting non-traditional, innovative programming and creating suitable
organisational structures; strong proposal writing skills.

Proven diplomatic and networking skills: the ability to effectively handle a variety of internal and external relationships including with education sector leaders and government staff;

About the Role
The Chief Executive Officer will have as their overarching purpose the realisation of the mission of the charity; to provide disadvantaged young people with the guidance, networks and opportunities they need to realise their potential at school and achieve post-16 qualifications that build towards secure, fulfilling employment.
They will be responsible for safeguarding, leadership, financial sustainability, management and administration of the charity in delivering against the mission and in the development and execution of strategy, in agreement with the Board of Trustees.
The Chief Executive Officer will support the Chair to ensure that governance arrangements of the charity are effective and in line with the requirements of the Charity Commission.

- Delivering interventions to pupils - The School Service Leaders will focus the first half of their placement on helping KS2 or KS4 pupils get or remain on track, by providing a range of targeted interventions; including delivering behaviour and attendance coaching encouraging pupil engagement and social development to promote a positive learning environment. You will also provide mentoring around attendance and behaviour.
- Maintaining a strong relationship with the school - You will assist the Impact Officer (line manager) to maintain a successful school relationship and ensure prompt and accurate data collection.
- Assisting with the support of Mentors - The second half of the placement will require carrying out the duties outlined in above and also assisting with the management and support of a team of mentors who are volunteering.

You will be able to coach and support the elected officers, and Trustee Board. The successful candidate won’t necessarily need to come from the Higher Education sector, but you must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the trends and issues that affect our students. ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Fundraising Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the Income and Partnerships Development team. This person will be reporting to the Head of Partnerships and will coordinate all fundraising activities and volunteers from our alumni, sponsor firms and SEO London supporters. This will be a hands-on role that includes project management, teamwork, reporting and a proactive approach to fundraising initiatives. Additionally, responsibilities include the preparation of cases for support for funding applications and providing guidance for proposal drafting. Furthermore, the role involves maintaining and reporting on funding requirements, encompassing impact reports, milestones, and renewals.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Further Develop and Implement Fundraising Strategies: Work closely with the Head of Partnerships to further develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies. Execute fundraising plans to achieve income targets and ensure long-term sustainability.
- Grant Writing and Proposal Development: Research and identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, government organisations and other donor oganisations. Prepare grant expressions of interest, proposals and applications that effectively communicate the need for our work and SEO London’s mission, programmes, and impact.
- Fundraising Events Management: Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events, including F1 challenges, Royal Parks Half Marathon and any other fundraising activities. Oversee all aspects of event logistics, marketing, sponsorship, and volunteer coordination.
- Fundraising Volunteers Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of volunteer interactions and contributions using excel and other tools. Volunteers to include sponsor firm reps, alumni, our students and other SEO London supporters. Generate reports and analytics to track fundraising progress and campaign effectiveness.
- Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of all funder reporting obligations and milestones, ensuring accurate documentation and timely submissions of reports. Accurately recording and tracking donor contributions, pledges, and grants received.
- Marketing and communication: Work closely with the marketing and communication team to raise awareness of fundraising activities through campaigns on social media and other marketing campaigns.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with programmes leads, finance team, marketing and alumni team, to engage firm volunteers, alumni, students and SEO London staff to have a big splash as to our fundraising activity.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, fundraising, business administration, or a related field.
Candidates without a degree will be considered if they have at least 2 years relevant and relatable work experience in a similar role.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for applicants who have at least 2 years demonstrable experience in some of the following areas and will be willing to learn and develop others:
- Experience in fundraising, grant writing or related roles within the nonprofit sector.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including accurate and persuasive writing and presentation skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software tools such as Salesforce.
- Knowledge of fundraising best practices, processes, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Passion for the SEO London’s mission and commitment to advancing change in the communities we serve.

Job Description
The Head of Advocacy and Policy will be responsible for developing an excellent Advice Service and Retention Team to support and advise students effectively to enable excellent student experience and satisfaction.
This role will lead on the development of effective insights, representation and support initiatives/campaigns for students, across our three campuses at Greenwich, Avery Hill and Medway.
This role will enhance work with the diverse student population of the University of Greenwich and lead a dynamic team to ensure students have consistent and accessible services that contribute to positive student experience.
This role sits within the wider Membership Services department, together with other key areas consisting of; Activities, Sport, Academic Communities, Representation and Democracy, we provide a high-quality service for students, that they can shape, steer and be at the heart of.
This postholder will be part of the GSU Senior Leadership Team and will be expected to contribute to department and organisation wide strategic development.
The post holder will:
- Have expert knowledge in areas of in relation to Advice and Retention and policies and legislation relating to such activity
- Support and develop strong student-led communities and campaigns in areas of: Advice, wellbeing and retention so that members can thrive
- Provide line management support to staff so that the team have up to date, specialist advice skills, knowledge and understanding of University regulations, policies and procedures that may affect the work of the Advice service and oversee engagement across Greenwich’s 3 campuses
- Undertake casework and provide expert advice for the team on all aspects of Advice
- Lead on the project management of wellbeing/health promotion campaigns and initiatives throughout the year, as well as any external bids through bodies such as OfS
- Oversee the Retention and Wellbeing Project work, and other relevant projects with external partners

Strategic Development

- Lead on Access and Participation Plan Engagement, acting as the key contact on this area with the University.

Monitoring and Evaluation
- Develop and oversee a structured approach to gathering, analysing and reporting on data relating to engagement of students with our services and to student views on key issues relating to retention and success
- Develop and oversee processes of collecting quantitative and qualitative data from casework to analyse trends and inform feedback for the SU and university
- Ensure evaluation mechanism are embedded in the teams working practises and that findings are shared and used to implement learnings with the goal of improving services
- Support Officers by preparing information, statistics and trends about key services to be shared within the University committee cycle

The Module sits within the Master of Research (MRes) in Developmental Neuroscience and Psychopathology (DNP), a two-year Masters programme, which is a collaboration between Anna Freud, University College London and The Child Study Centre at Yale University in the USA. Students spend their first year in London (based at Anna Freud) and their second year at Yale, where they undertake a substantial research project. The student cohort is small (generally 14 students per year) and carefully selected. This post provides a forum for the successful candidate to develop skills and experience in teaching and delivery of an innovative and well-established MRes programme. About the role
We are looking to recruit a permanent multi-skilled advocate to join our busy Berks multi- disciplinary team, working up to 37 hours per week, minimum of 28 hours, starting salary £23,611 per annum, (pro rata).
In this exciting role you will be acting as an independent advocate supporting clients to ensure they get their voices heard. This may include providing advocacy across a number of different strands, such as the Mental Capacity Act, Care Act and Mental Health Act.
What we need from you
