Our Advocacy services we provide advocacy direct to children and young people in care, in need, in custody and to care leavers and children and young people with mental health needs. Advocates around the country support children and young people to get their voice heard in decisions about their lives. This may be through the telephone helpline or through an advocate working directly with a child, for instance, to support them at a review meeting or to help them make a complaint about their care. Coram Voice provides visiting advocacy services to most of the secure units nationally, to Secure Training Centres, Juvenile Young Offender Institutions, psychiatric hospitals, residential special schools and children’s homes.

About the Role

You will work directly with care experienced children and young people and those on Child Protection Plans providing them with advocacy support in the community and in a variety of settings.

You will empower and support them to ensure their voices are heard within decision–making processes that effect their lives.

You will be a capable ambassador for Coram Voice with the ability to engage effectively with professionals, carers, other stakeholders and most importantly children and young people.

What the role involves

1. Ensuring that there are regular training opportunities for both new starters and those requiring refresher sessions or updates when new functions or forms are released. This will include running system training drop in sessions to assist with queries / hear feedback, and relaying information from these to the Information Governance and IT manager.

2. To support managing the case recording system help desk – so that support is always ava

ilable to front line workers and other stakeholders.

3. Working with the Learning and Development Coordinator to establish an evaluation method and implement this to enable us to assess the effectiveness of each training session and using this to improve future delivery.

4. Produce effective training materials and guidance documents, and develop and maintain a training area on our case recording system, including the creation of dummy forms and files for new users to access and use as a training sandbox

5. Performing case recording system changes to forms and lists as directed by the Information Governance and IT Lead

6. Support the Data Reporting and System Support Lead with regards to user administration and user support at times of absence and increased need

7. Working with the Learning and Development Coordinator to support the creation of e-learning training modules for our LMS (currently RISE) Acting at all times in line with safeguarding legislation and guidance in addition to Safer London’s practice guidelines and wider pan-London processes and protocols.

8. Undertaking any other duties as required and commensurate with the level of this post, including covering the Data Reporting and CRS support lead post functions when relevant.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We are looking to appoint a new SEND Consultant to our central team of subject specialists. We want to hear from experienced teachers who have gained experience in a middle leadership role, and who have a track record of raising achievement within a department. The successful applicant will join an established team of specialists, working to further raise standards and further drive improvement across the Harris Federation. The role of SEND Consultant is an exciting post providing enormous scope for a talented and creative practitioner to work collaboratively across a group of academies.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The role will be multi-faceted and involve coaching and mentoring, sharing of best practice, developing robust improvement strategies, assisting Harris academies in recruitment and selection, helping to establish new departments or lead rapid recovery where required. Our central team consultants work strategically with Principals, senior leadership teams and support academy departments to improve standards and the outcomes for our students.

As a senior leader, you will have the opportunity to develop and advance your career within a Federation established in developing practitioners and nurturing excellent future leaders. We are looking for an experienced teacher with a deep passion for SEND. Our consultant roles are suitable for those with management experience (ideally but not necessarily at Head of Department level or alternatively be an aspirant Leading Practitioner). The post would suit an ambitious middle leader looking either to broaden their expertise and responsibilities, or who may be considering a future leadership pathway to their first headship. Although based at the Harris Federation offices close to East Croydon Station (with fast access to central London and the M25), the role will mostly be located within the academies.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The post work suit an ambitious middle leaders with at least three years' SEND teaching experience and two years in a management role such as SENDCo or Co-SENDCo. A thorough understanding of the needs of students with SEND and Quality First Teaching is essential.

This is a mixed role – developing partnership links and building capacity to develop cancer support services in the geographical area of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

In a typical day you may:

• Support priority projects. A key priority for the role is the creation, development and protection of local cancer support services, strengthening local voluntary organisations. 
• Attend public events and use social media tools to promote what we do and why we do it.
• Together with partners across health, social care and the third sector ensure that the programme puts the person affected by cancer at the centre. 

Looking forward towards the future of personalised care we need to provide a more supportive cancer service so that everyone with cancer will know where they can turn them from the moment they are diagnosed, getting support that’s right for them. 

The role will require you to manage your own workload effectively, be flexible with occasional evening work and very occasional weekend work. You will need to be able to work on your own initiative whilst benefitting from being part of a supportive team and renowned national charity.

To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated, flexible individual, who is passionate about working with young people around their sexual health.

The postholder will conduct outreach, education, and training in several settings depending on the needs of different young people. These could be educational settings, youth settings, community events, sports settings, clubs and pubs. You will target vulnerable young people, such as looked-after children (LAC), those who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET), those who come from areas of high deprivation and high need, and those with other increased risk factors, as well as young people aged 13-15 who are not yet able to access online services.

As part of your frontline work, you will encourage young people to sign up for a C-card, and, if aged over 16, to register to Get it and order condoms and lube from the website. When appropriate, you will refer young people to appropriate local sexual health services for contraception, emergency contraception, pregnancy testing, STI screening and treatment.

You must be able to employ an appropriate and non-judgemental way of working with a variety of young people. You will welcome direction from the SWL Lead, as well as the broader team, but you will also be proactive in seeking new opportunities and mechanisms to deliver the scheme. With the support of your line manager, and with appropriate training, you will be responsible for safeguarding and child protection, ensuring young people under the age of 16 have been appropriately risk-assessed. You do not need to have existing sexual health knowledge to apply for this role, however, a desire and capacity to learn and to work in this field is essential.

• Develop and embed a People and Culture Strategy in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Board.

• Be the trusted expert HR Advisor to Senior Leaders, the lead on all formal Employee Relations (ER) related cases, and coach the HR & Culture Officer to support managers on informal cases.

• Keep abreast of employment law, case law and trends, sharing these with key stakeholders to ensure policy and practices are not only compliant but innovative, and supporting the assessment and mitigation of people related risks

• Gain an understanding and support leaders to innovatively respond to the recruitment challenges faced by low unemployment rates in the local area.

• Lead a proactive, data informed resource/workforce planning approach, based upon internal needs and external insight and trends (including recruitment needs, skills development, employment law changes).

• Develop a HR infrastructure and systems to support DENS’ service development. With the support of the HR and Culture Officer, review, develop and implement standardised processes and frameworks and supporting documents

• Lead, motivate and develop your team, encouraging a collaborative climate.

• Review and implement staff development initiatives, including a structured training plan, quality assurance of one-to-one meetings and annual performance reviews.

• Oversee employee relations and improved HR systems, ensuring compliance with best employment practices and risk management

• Promote a healthy workplace culture and employee and volunteer proposition through contemporary HR practices such as wellbeing, recognition.

• Lead the implementation of the EDI policy, ensuring an inclusive and equitable workplace

• Role model a culture that supports autonomy and responsibility by coaching managers on the use of tools and guidance to enable them to effectively and confidently manage employee related issues

• Ensure payroll accuracy monthly and ensure post payroll checks have been completed

• Responsible for managing the HR & Culture budget.

Job details:

• Location: FLEX office, Vauxhall, London - Flexible hybrid working with a mixture of in person and home/office working.
• Salary: £54,000 per annum subject to deductions for tax and national insurance contributions as required by law, pro-rated if part time.

About the role

The Director of Operations will serve as a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and a key driver of our organisational strength. The successful candidate will be working to a wide brief and is expected to undertake a range of duties including, but not limited to, advising and initiating action on property issues in local churches, overseeing quinquennial inspections and manse inspections, and providing advice on property-related matters to Synod Committees.

• has experience of property matters either through extensive operational management or through the practice of a relevant profession, while holding appropriate qualifications at higher or professional level

The Psychologist/Psychotherapist will deliver high-quality, evidence-based psychological interventions, providing psychological assessments, formulations, and therapeutic support to asylum seekers and refugees with complex trauma-related mental health needs. This role will focus on the delivery of trauma-informed care, including interventions such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) and Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET).

The psychologist/psychotherapist will work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with caseworkers, assistant psychologists, and other stakeholders to ensure the integration of psychological services into broader psycho-social support. A key responsibility is supporting and supervising assistant psychologists in the delivery of interventions, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and the service’s ethical standards.
