At the Medical Research Foundation, we believe in the life-changing power of research. We are an independent charitable foundation that funds high-quality medical research, with a strong focus on underfunded and emerging areas of health. As we launch an ambitious new strategy to 2029, we’re looking for a passionate and experienced Research Manager to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of medical research.
You will play a key role in planning and delivering bespoke research funding competitions, managing a portfolio of research grants, and contributing to the development of new funding initiatives. You will ensure that only the highest quality science and most promising researchers receive our support, and you’ll play a part in supporting our community of grant holders throughout the life of their awards.
You’ll also support the development and delivery of scientific events and workshops; help identify new funding priorities and work closely with external stakeholders.
We would like to hear from you if you can demonstrate:
- Experience of working in a life sciences research/funding environment (e.g. charity, university, public sector).
- Experience of funding competitions, peer review, or grant management
- Clear communication in writing and verbally with colleagues, scientists and other stakeholders
- Good research and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Strong planning, organising and time-management skills with the flexibility to respond to team priorities and unexpected changes

We value spending time working in-person to develop strong connections with each other and with our mission, so you will be based at our central London office for a minimum of three days a week (usually Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) with the option to work remotely for the remainder. Overview
Since our establishment in 2017 many funders, community members, professional partners – not to mention mums and minis - have bought in to our vision and seen our project grow to a staff team that hovers around the 15, and a turnover well above £500k. Our success means that we are now looking to recruit to a new and vital role of director of operations. This critical role will work alongside the CEO to make sure that our ideas and ambitions are matched by sure-footed implementation, safe structures, and workable policies.
You will ensure efficiency, compliance, clarity, reporting and calm in the running of our fast-moving, multi-faceted grassroots charity. You will be the unwavering back-stop behind the exciting innovation, and the busy front-line. Your organisational skills and operational expertise will create and maintain a structure which is safe, sustainable, efficient and transparent - while being agile enough to allow our volunteers and staff to pivot when necessary in order to meet the ever-evolving needs of our mums and minis.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Work within the charity’s mission, vision and values, and strategic plan to ensure and oversee the smooth running of all day to day activities of the charity.

- Provide strategic oversight and support for project leads in their delivery of projects and programmes at the centre, ensuring alignment with charity objectives.

Reporting Structure
Reports directly to the CEO, and - on occasion - the board of Trustees, working closely with Finance and Fundraising leads, Project managers, and external HR and H&S provider.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our Alumni Engagement team who provide support to an alumni base of almost 40,000 contactable alumni of the Sutton Trust programmes. These are generally young people from lower socio-economic backgrounds who move into highly competitive universities, courses and careers. The alumni community has grown rapidly over the past 3 years and now expects around 6-7000 new alumni to join each September. Engagement covers supporting their transition to university and into the workplace through communications, events and programmes. It also spans alumni volunteering, our Alumni Leadership Board, and working with our Development team towards alumni giving.
The role is dynamic and diverse, requiring you to be able to think strategically whilst devising and delivering on operational delivery plans, and we are looking for a confident and experienced team leader during a period of maternity leave.
This role is part of the Programmes Leadership Team and will work closely with the Director of Programmes, Head of Employability Programmes and Head of University Access & Digital on shaping the strategic direction of the team and its programmatic work. The role will also connect closely to the work of the Development Team as we look to devise and implement a segmented alumni giving scheme, as well as the Communications and Policy team, and may evolve to take on new projects over time.
Main duties
- Strategic leadership to alumni engagement, including:
- Embedding alumni relations and programming across the organisation, ensuring alumni are considered or involved in all areas of the Trust’s work
- Managing budget and project timelines to ensure projects are delivered effectively
- Working with the wider programmes team to ensure a smooth transition for Sutton Trust beneficiaries between programmes and the alumni community

Terms of Appointment

- Contract: 13-month Fixed-term Maternity cover contract starting November 2025. Our ideal dates are from 1 November 2025 – 30 November 2026, however we can be flexible if needed for the right candidate.

Role Summary
The main function of the Bookings Team Executive role is to provide high quality customer service for the Into Film Festival. This will mean receiving calls, processing bookings and liaising with educators through email and by phone. It will also involve making outbound calls to drive bookings, speaking to attending teachers and liaising with cinemas to ensure the festival runs smoothly. This is an exciting, front-line, varied role requiring high level communication skills and a solution focused attitude. It is an opportunity to develop customer service and CRM (Salesforce/Aerian) skills and to work for the world’s largest film festival for young people. This role is offered on a fixed term, three-month basis.
Main Responsibilities:
- To be the first point of contact for public festival enquiries; answering calls and emails, processing bookings and problem solving.
- Proactively reaching out over email and phone to educators/bookers, aiming to sign them up to the festival.
- Liaising with the festival team to ensure all enquiries and issues are resolved.
- Checking, updating and uploading booking information onto our festival website (via Aerian - training available).
- Updating the daily incident log (via Excel) - this is used for tracking all enquiries/issues from cinemas.
- Liaising with exhibitors as and when required and as directed.

Since joining ClientEarth as a Philanthropy Officer, Sebastien has progressed to the Philanthropy Manager position where he supports and oversees two members of the Philanthropy Team. Main Duties
- Actively manage donor relationships across assigned portfolio of largely UK supporters with first class stewardship and reporting to secure renewals and uplifts of approximately £1m per annum.

Every 20 minutes, someone is killed or seriously injured on UK roads. For families affected, the emotional and practical challenges are immense. As a Caseworker, you will provide direct, trauma-informed care to individuals and families suffering from the sudden bereavement or life-altering injury of a loved one. Working mostly remotely, with home visits to service users, you’ll offer vital emotional and practical support—including helping them access therapeutic resources, financial assistance, and guidance through the complexities of medical and legal processes.
This role is flexible, allowing you to structure your own working pattern within weekdays from 8AM to 6PM. While travel is required, you’ll have control over your diary. The work is challenging but immensely rewarding, requiring resilience, empathy, and a dedication to making a real difference in people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing direct support to road victims and their families in the North Yorkshire region, following Brake’s trauma-informed model of care.
- Managing a caseload of service users, ensuring their emotional, practical, and advocacy needs are met.
- Undertaking comprehensive needs assessments and creating individualised support plans
- Offering emotional and practical support—this can include helping families access therapeutic resources, financial aid, or even facilitating keepsakes to honour the memory of their loved ones
- Liaising with professionals, including police officers, Family Liaison Officers, mental health services, coroners, GPs, and other support organisations.
- Advocating for victims within medical, legal, and social services to ensure their voices are heard.
- Providing support through multiple channels, including in-person, remote calls, video chats, and messaging, depending on service user preferences.
- Completing safeguarding assessments and escalating concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead when needed.

About the role
This is a great chance to be a part of a service working alongside the Healthcare & Education Department within HMP Bronzefield to identify and support women who are identified as being neurodiverse or presenting with symptoms of neurodiversity and will be returning to the community. The Neurodiversity Lead will focus support on women with a neurodivergent need and improve their transition into the community, with ongoing community support; including collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop their support plans.
The Lead will work in a multi-disciplinary way, including attending the weekly complex case meeting and/or the Safety Intervention Meeting (SIM) as appropriate, they will act as a specialist member of the wider Advance Criminal Justice Service - London team, to facilitate a pathway for women with complex needs including mental health and neurodiversity needs. The Neurodiversity Lead will accept referrals from the Advance Criminal Justice Community team and prison services, and will create a link between prison and the community, helping women to navigate support services and to positively re-integrate into their community upon release. They will co-design a person-centred support and action plan with women accessing support, enabling to support them to address their needs and any risks. The role will combine a casework- based approach, along with a signposting and advice service for the women.
The Neurodiversity Lead will be based in the community and will provide a drop-in service (1-2 day per week) in HMP Bronzefield to support women who are close to release.
A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential
About You
To be successful as the Neurodiversity Lead you will need the below experience and skills:
An excellent understanding of mental health, neurodiversity needs violence against women and girls and its links to women in the criminal justice system
You will have the ability to complete trauma informed, support and action plans in collaboration with the woman; to support in addressing their multiple and individual needs and enable them to engage with services, which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved.
You will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work in a prison environment whilst remaining calm.

About the role
As our Temporary Finance Manager, you will be managing a finance assistant and will be part of our organisation’s Senior Leadership Team, helping to collaboratively shape and steer the charity as we work towards our 2022-2027 strategy. The Finance Manager is at the heart of Woman’s Trust; you will play an essential role and have oversight of not just the finance team - you will have direct exposure to CEO/Board Members and decision-making for the future of the organisation.
We are looking for a highly motived Temporary Finance Manager with demonstrable experience working in a similar senior level role. You’ll be a fully or part qualified accountant e.g. CIMA/ACA/ACCA/Cipfa, with a thorough understanding of charity accounting.
Hours: Part-time, 28 hours per week.
Contract: Fixed term to start ASAP until 18th December 2025.

In this role, you will be managed by Greg Pickford. Greg joined ClientEarth in 2018 and is based in our London office.
Main Duties
- Manage a team of 2-3 Finance Business Partners (FBP) supporting Programme teams with the grant portfolio, keeping budgets under continuous review, and providing regular financial information and analysis.
- Contribute proactively with the Programme Finance Lead and the core Finance team in improving programme finance systems and procedures.
- Working with Programme Heads and the FBPs, provide commentary and insight into the Programmes financial position on a monthly basis, flagging material risks and identifying mitigating actions.
- Review the financial assessment of new grant proposals and grant agreements. Ensure that they are in line with ClientEarth strategy and financial guidelines for cost recovery and overheads. Escalate grants or contracts that do not comply to the Head of Finance, Planning and Analysis for sign off.
- Review monthly salary allocation and cost recovery journals prepared by FBPs and ensure that data checks are in place including accuracy of fund balances
- Ensure that the financial aspects, reporting and audit requirements of grant/donor funded projects are aligned with donors’ contractual requirements.
