The Floating Support Service has been running for over 15 years and is a long-term source of support to adults in Camden. We provide person-centred, mutual and holistic support for those in the community who may be finding life difficult. We think the client knows what is best for them and we follow their lead, whether that be working in their home, at our hub, or in the community, and whether that be focusing on emotional, practical or social support. Some of our clients fund their own support, whereas some have funding from Camden Council; for all, we work to help clients navigate their lives with a sense of acceptance and belonging.

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.

Working under the guidance of the Peer Programme Manager, this post will continue the development of the project, recruiting and coordinating peers across identified areas within Eastern ODN. Working in partnership with hepatitis C clinical teams, drug and alcohol services and homeless service providers, the post will coordinate delivery of educational workshops, hepatitis C testing in community settings, ensure that service users are referred and supported through hepatitis C treatment and care. 

This post will require extensive travel across Bedford and Luton (and the surrounding areas) and the post holder is required to hold a clean driving licence and have their own vehicle for work related travel.

ECPAT UK’s Youth Mentor and Outreach Worker will work directly with children and young people affected by trafficking and exploitation. Overall Purpose

• To provide support and care to young people who are newly arrived in the country, providing the foundations for them to rebuild their strength, dignity and grow their hope for their futures.

Personal specification

Baca is looking for a Support Worker who can join the support team and provide support, care and be a role model for young people who are newly arrived refugees and victims of trafficking aged 16 to 18. They will be motivated and passionate about the work that Baca does and the young people in our care.

The successful applicant will have the ability to ensure the support we give to the young people is of the highest quality and goes beyond the statutory standards set. They will be very approachable, reliable and a strong team worker. Someone who is supportive, approachable, responsible, reliable, personable and willing to be flexible. They will be a great people person who can develop key external relationships. They will also be a very organised and proactive individual. The successful applicant will need access to transport as the role requires visiting the young people in their homes and attending different appointments/meetings across the midlands. The role will require the successful candidate to complete an enhanced DBS check.

Guildford Foyer provides 24 hour supported accommodation housing up to 34 young people aged 16-25 who have multiple and complex needs, including many who are unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people. We provide support to our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures. Our supportive staff team comprises of Support Workers, night staff and two managers.

We are looking for a Housing Night Worker to join our Guildford Foyer team. Main areas of responsibilities are:

Coaching and Engagement

• Coach young people so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and take the lead in acquiring the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives.
• Ensure young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own personal development, to engage with the services on offer and build strong networks and connections within the local community. 
• Ensure consistent standards of safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice when supporting young people, observing our safeguarding procedures, and keeping yourself and residents safe by respecting professional boundaries.
• Maintain client records on In-Form (client database) detailing the young person’s journey in relation to their strengths and needs, any risks, and any outcomes (to monitor service performance). 

Housing

• Coach young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules, in preparation for independent living. 
• Promote a credit culture, encouraging young people to keep up to date with all payments for rent.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing and welfare benefits for young people and be well-informed on significant changes to housing law.
• Deal effectively with non-compliance issues, such as non-payment of rent or damage to room, using restorative practices and working collaboratively with the rest of the team.

General 

• Work as part of a team, on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day/evening, along with taking responsibility for personal safety during periods of lone working
• Contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations.
• Participate in relevant continuing professional development and utilise Reflective Practice Supervision as part of leading psychologically informed practice.

An opportunity has arisen to join our caring and experienced Day Centre team as a full-time support worker. 

• To provide assistance with personal care and support, daily living tasks or activities to clients with disabilities, clients with dementia and older clients within our Day Centre to support them to attain their full potential, maximise options available, and encourage choice, participation and motivation.
• To escort clients on the mini bus to and from their homes and the day centre.
• To fully engage in and/or lead activity sessions in the day centre to ensure the clients can fully participate in activities and enjoy their day with us.

The Upper Room has been supporting homeless, financially and socially disadvantaged people since the 1990's. Its services have evolved greatly over time to now include free, home-cooked meals together with a wide range of support to help people with legal, benefits, housing and employment issues.

We have secured some funding to help homeless and other disadvantaged people into and through cancer screening - something many of them don't think they qualify for or are even afraid to step forward for. Even though it's a proven life-saver for millions of people.

We are looking for someone with basic IT skills but most importantly great people skills, who can undertake a short survey with our service users and when someone fits some basic qualifying criteria encourage them to step forward for screening. Once someone is happy to step forward, the role becomes one of practical support, such as helping to register with a GP if they don't have one, helping with appointments, arranging temporary accommodation in hotels and arranging transport too and from hospital appointments.

We're looking for someone who is organised with good people and communication skills. The survey can be fully undertaken via a mobile phone or laptop, so is quite an easy thing to undertake. But what will help most in this role is patience, empathy and compassion. We hope to start someone as soon as possible and will require a DBS and references (as well as the right to work in the UK). Health or social care experience is advantageous but not essential. Our service runs from 4pm to 6pm Monday to Friday - so these would be the normal working hours - although we can accommodate some flexibility for the right candidate. The role will be on-site so candidates must live within a short commute of W12.

This peer support project is delivered in partnership with South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust to support Carers of people with mental health conditions.  This project will work to support Carers through one-to-one support, outreach, training and peer support groups.

About The Role: 

Using your lived experience of caring for someone with a mental health condition, and a strengths-based approach, you will support mental health Carers in their caring role.  You will provide person centred one-to-one- support, information, signposting, and advocacy, develop, and facilitate peer support groups and deliver training and outreach sessions at different locations across the borough. 

Key Requirements Include: 

• Lived experience of Caring for someone with a mental health condition 

• Knowledge and understanding of mental health and the associated challenges and support needs.

We have a dedicated casework team of industry experts who support sex workers to further access criminal justice remedies and other services as determined by these victims/survivors to cope and recover from crimes they experience. We also host a range of other projects in racial justice, mental health, drop-in support (Scotland), and vocational exploration.

Role Summary:

National Ugly Mugs are looking to recruit a Victim Support Case Worker to provide greater access to justice and protections for sex workers based in or touring in London. The post holder will work across multiple agencies, from London victim support services, Citizens Advice, SARCS/Rape Crisis, specialist sex worker support organisations to those providing services to sex workers, and sex worker-led groups. They will work with police and Met officials via working groups or direct engagement with BCU SPOCs to support reporting to police. 

The Victim Support Case Work plays a part in maintaining a wide network of practitioners and officials both local and national, to ensure that we are victim-centred and provide resources in ways that are individualised and safest for sex worker survivors as part of prevention, victim support and recovery. As such, the post holder will be supported by partners from sex worker-led groups and rights activists, and provided with relevant training and clinical supervision to support them in the role.

Job purpose:

To provide a pro-active victim support to marginalised and racialised sex workers when they are victims of crime by working within and outside of the criminal system and in partnership with other frontline support services and the police.

• Provision of victim support case work to London-based sex workers

• Risk assess and help members keep safe.

• Support members to access resources in keeping with their rights and entitlements.

• Support members to access (mental) health and other services they require.

• Monitor and keep members informed of case progress.

• Provide support through the criminal system from report to court and beyond.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a refuge worker within a refuge service, supporting women and their children fleeing domestic abuse. Your responsibilities will include supporting and advocating for women and children, taking part in the on-call rota, managing day to day running of the refuge; health & safety, safeguarding, supporting the service and deputy manager. 

Some of the key accountabilities are: 

• Providing practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse in accordance with Refuge’s philosophical principles. This will include conducting  key work sessions on a regular basis and keeping casework records up to date.  

• Welcoming new residents, explaining and arranging for them to sign occupancy agreements, ensuring that they are aware of their options for moving on to more permanent accommodation and to develop a proactive move on strategy for individual residents.  

• Establishing the risks to, and the needs of survivors of, domestic violence and their children through assessing their practical and emotional support needs throughout their stay at the refuge.  

• Developing individual support and risk management plans which address the risk of harm to survivors of domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse and their children, and to ensure that such plans are in place for each resident.  

• Ensuring that any issues in relation to safeguarding children or vulnerable adults are brought to the immediate attention of the service manager, or if unavailable another manager.  

• Working in partnership with other agencies and to advocate for survivors to ensure their needs are met.
